I had posted earlier about putting our new to us RSV in the ditch and i could not, for the life of me figure out how the heck i had done that. i was turning right out of the asphalt driveway onto our gravel road. i had last rode a crotch rocket 25 yrs earlier and the venture is a completely different animal. i did a lot of searching to figure it out. watching clips of RLAP helped me to figure the following: 1. a turn starts on the outside of the turn, not the inside. i did not have enough room to turn and my turn radius was too big. 2. target fixation - i saw i was going to go in the ditch and went there. my fear of turning too sharp on the gravel has since then been overcome. with practice and the above facts, I have since been able to pull out of the driveway as i know i should be able to. coming back onto the driveway has improved 100% also. getting use to the bigger bike has been enjoyable although frustrating at times. I will say this "I love this scooter" i had signed up for RLAP houston, but got rained out. i should be rescheduling soon. dale in La

OUCH! sorry for the mishap but glad it was not worse. i wonder why the person who left the cart in the aisle was not drug tested. i bet no one fessed up to leaving the cart in the aisle, so who to test. does a drug test show any level of stupidity or azzi-nine ? hope you get to feeling better soon. dale in La.

change out that seat, the last rider was only wearing chaps, and i certainly don't want . . . . .

i have been reading the threads concerning seats. this is my first "big" bike and its been many years since my last bike. I have seen many seats in pictures but don't know one from another with the exception of a flat n smooth seat as opposed to a seat with buttons and is billowy looking. our RSV has the button n billowy look. it is very comfy and the passenger seat is the same configuration. Is this the pillow top style? dale in La

i was scratchin for a come back on that one too. but, dah-yum, that about "nailed" it. Ok, lets change gears and do a redirect - So, Virginia we presumed was headed for a tattoo parlor in parts unknown leaving the scoot behind. we loaded Ruffy's scooter on a trailer that an HD driver loaned us. luckily enough, he had unloaded his VRod Harley wanna-be motor bike and had planned an afternoon ride. all the VR members decided it was a good time for an impromptu maint meeting. Ruffy's scooter was first in line. Lady Ruffy piped up and said "first thing i want done to the bike is . . . . . .

the pump i have is similar. it is quality constructed. it is nice to be able to customize the forks & rear shock to your riding style. my RSV si much more comfortable for me solo & is great when riding 2 up. the extra air has made a difference for us. i keep 4 pounds in each fork and run 15 pounds in the rear. i was surpirsed at how nice it made the ride. you will like yours. the pump is small enough to take with if necessary. dale in La

because the stems on the roses had him feeling a little "thorny" and his blossum was currently riding off with his scooter. Massey brought him a beer & said "here ya go BUD. put your goggles on, there is plenty of scenery to cheer you up. we will get your scooter, clean it up & the slayer knows a good painter. If you would like, the painter can try to sand blast that new tatt off soze you can . . . .

Ruffy learned not to leave the keys to his motor bike in the ignition without his butt on the driver seat. seems the suds began taking its toll on most riders as the merriment level was rising and a good time was in full swing. just as we were watching Virginia making a left turn in the sunset, we were squinting hard to see, but the rear end began sliding out from under turn. seems the floorboard was stuck as it was scraping the ground causing the bike to pivot. Just as the bike was falling over . . . . .

I sort of had no choice. i am 5' 6" and when i was looking at our RSV with the 4Sale sign on it, my feet were flat on the ground. i commented to the seller this fact. he is my height and a machinist and likes to work on bikes. he looked at the lowereing kits and made some dog bone links to lower the bike for himelf. he gave me the factory links in case i wanted to switch back to factory. i do scrape the mufflers on certain curbs, so i have began watching where i enter and exit parking lots. i will pull out on a sharper angle so i only scrape one side when necessary. my pipe ends were made by the previous owner and are thicker stainless steel so i am not that worried. I have no problems with handling (now). i had to get back in the groove after a long absence from riding. there have been reports of folks who went back to factory links, but that is the nice thing about this site. most everyone shares their experience. if you lower it, you can switch back at will because you will own both low and factory links. welcome to the site, by the way. glad you are here. you can use the search button and check out previous threads to read what others have said. dale in La

Ditto to the above posts. winding it up and around is just toooo much fun. those darn speed limits just provide such a downer. you get to 100 so easily and then remember you're in a 65 mph zone. then look around for flashin lights. dale in La

No dis-owning around here. you just added a stable mate for the yammy.

Ditto to all the above posts. i do a similar to most on my flat utility trailer. i have the HF wheel chock - it was only 28 bucks with a coupon. i use canyon dancer II for the handlebars and the back like most above. kickstand up on the 2nd gen. 4 straps in all - 2 on the back plus 2 attached to the canyon dancer. no paint contact & check strap tension at each stop. dale in La

Do you turn the fuel off...

i have sort of wanted to do that. i have not yet, though. i am afraid if i do, i will forget & drive off with only the carbs of gas to run on, then realize what i had done only to look around to see if anyone knew what i had just done. so i have not started that habit yet. dale in La -
