  1. Sorry, I guess I should have made myself clear when I was talking about the rear end. I was referring to the "drive" rear end. It depends on what gear ratio you have. The rear end that I have is from a small lincoln, (that is what I was told). I don't know what gear ratio I have. I know I should have asked just incase you guys wanted to know. What was mention above about parking is true. It only takes a few times of pulling into a parking lot to learn where you want to park. If you can find a place to park up hill, (small incline), you will be able to let the trike roll back out of the spot when you leave. In FL we don't have that many spots like that, but you can find one here and there. Ken:sun:
  2. I'm 64 and I have the RSV triked, I love it! Not having a reverse is not that bad of a problem. Do I wish I had one - sure! I have the Hannigan kit. It's 62 inches wide. You have to becareful when pulling up to get gas. Don't hit the polls protecting the pumps. I have sit on and rode both GW and RSV trikes.... I like my RSV, maybe it's because I had it when it was a two wheeler. The gas mileage between my RSV trike and my buddy's GW trike is about the same. (35mpg) I believe it's going to depend on what rear end you get on the trike. If you get a trike make sure that you have the front end raked. Mine is 4.5 and it does make a difference in handling. Had a good time at Vogel and the "Tail". I have the floorboards on mine, you can stand on them, some you can't, what ever kit you get ask about that. Because of the problems that I have with my back and legs I have to "mount" the trike like you do a horse. I put my foot on the passengers foot rest and stand up and swing my leg over the seat. If you get a chance ride what you plan on buying. Ken
  3. Lewis, You are a "special" person. Most groups have a special person who goes that extra mile for everyone else. You seem to out do yourself every year. We thank you for that. I know that the kids thank you (and all members) for what you do. Makes me proud to be associated with a group who supports St. Judes and what they do for the kids. Ken:sun:
  4. I would be interested in the complete set also. You did an outstanding job. Sure saves us a lot of time! Keep up the good work. Ken:thumbsup:
  5. Nice, made me wish I was there with you on the ride. Ken
  6. I've been looking for a cover. When I bought my kit I was supposed to have gotten a cover with it, but they were not making them at the time or they were back ordered, one of the two. Thanks for the post. Ken:178:
  7. Randy, Now I know why people retire down here in Florida and move to TN. Ken
  8. It's for the 2nd Gen. If I'm not mistaken I think they fit the same from '99 to '09. The one I have came off an '05. The guy I got them from didnot have them on the bike that long before he changed them out. They (front, and passenger's backrest, I put the passenger's seat on mine.) look like new. Ken:sun:
  9. I have one, if he can't find one send me an e-mail Ken
  10. This is what I found. I like it because if "fits" your seat. I haven't ordered one yet, but I plan on doing it soon. http://www.sheepyhollow.com/home.htm Ken:2cents:
  11. Have you checked on how much a seat cost for a 2nd gen. It's somewhere around $400. I think I would find some way to secure the seat. I had the passenger seat come off my bike. That's $300+ for the 2nd gen. (It was on a trailer coming back from the "Tail") Just my in. Ken
  12. Lewis, It looks good. I like the paint that you used. It's going to look good when it's back together. Ken
  13. I posted this on another thread about a week and a half ago. The above is correct, but you really only have to hit the accel button once. So when you hit set, rock your finger right to accell and hit it and you should stay at the speed you set the cruise at. As far as twisting the throtle and increasing your speed releases the cruise - - I'm not sure, but that might be a safety feature that is in the cruise system. I think that has happen to me before. Ken
  14. If you don't get them off e-bay let me know, I have the front seat and passengers back rest sitting in my spare bedroom closet. They are just like new. Send me an e-mail when you find out if you didn't get the one on e-bay. Ken
  15. I have a set that came off my '04 RSV. If interested sene me a PM. Ken
  16. I got mine when I bought the kit. I really like them. You can stand on them (some you can't). The only problem is when you want to back the trike up you have to get off and push. At least I do. I would think Hannagan would have them. Give them a call. Or you can call the dealer that put my trike together in Seymoure, IN. there telephone number is 812-522-3449, which is Dan's Cycle Sales. They can tell you. Ken,
  17. My advise would be, don't get a trike unless your ready. I love my trike. I had to go that way because of my back and legs. I too can't swing my leg over the saddle. I have to get on like a horse. Step my foot on the passengers foot rest and then bring my leg over. I have a Hannigan on my 04, and you do have to take some time to get use to it. I didn't think I would like it when I first rode it. Boy, it sure was different. But I had a friend that had a Goldwing trike and told me to just wait. Glad I did. I had a 4.5 rake on the front and put Barons risers (1 1/2 inch) that helped the steering. While at the Tail of the Dragon this year I didn't let the 2 wheelers get away from me. I have had the bike triked for a year now and I like it more every time I get on it. I wont go back to 2 wheels because of my medical condition. Do I miss 2 wheels - you bet. But I still love riding, and I love my trike. When your ready - your ready. Ken
  18. I can relate to all the above. Came up to a stop sign, put my foot down when I came to a stop. My foot went into a dip in the pavement and over I went. My cousin, bless her heart, said that was enough (third time that this has happen to me) and helped me to make my bike look like this. Now no more tip overs. Ken
  19. That Blue and Black is a pretty bike, a friend of mine has one. It took me a while to like it. But, the more I look at it the better it gets. Ken
  20. Nice pictures, they look like my kind of people. Keep us advised for next year. I'd like to head up that way. Maybe make a couple of weeks of it and stay in Indianapolis with family. Might make a good stop on my way back from Meramec State Park in August. Thanks, Ken:cool10:
  21. Regarding your cruise, I have found that if you depress the accel button twice in quick succession you will find that you will increase your speed by one to two mph. (or what ever you use). When you set your cruise at a speed that you want to be at - when you hit your set button also hit your accel button right after and you will remain at that speed and your bike will not lose speed. Ken:Venture:
  22. I have found a seat for my trike. I'm no longer looking for one. Ken:dancefool:
  23. While at Vogel,I asked SteveW to look into this, maybe he will come up with something. Ken:)
  24. Prayers are sent your way. I too have back problems, not as bad, but I know somewhat of the problems of getting back up from being down on the floor. Sometimes you don't know if your going to make it. I hope the doctors find some relief for you soon. As for the warm weather, I know that it helps me during the winter time. But I sure can tell when the wheather is going to change. Keep doing the things that you are doing. Don't give up! It seems to me that when I quit doing something, then after a time I try to do it, it becomes twice as hard to do, and hurts twice as bad. Go ahead and vent to us as it has been said. We can't do anything to help you, but it sure helps to let some steam out!! Ken:fingers-crossed-emo
  25. Thanks, It has the wrong seat pattern, but if all else fails, I might have to go with it. Ken
