  1. Skid, Don't take this wrong, "Please"! I too wonder about that "guy" that put on the Vogel quest. I thought that he might have put us all aside when he put his venture in the garage. I'm sure that Skid is going to try to out do that guy, now known as a gost rider. I can't make this year, bike is still not done being made into a trike. But if there is going to be a '09 Vogel then I better start planning now. Skid, I hope everything goes good for you and the fellow Ventureriders. I'm sure that your going to pull it off. 2. I pull a "Time Out" and while moving down the road I don't know it's there, but like others, when you start up and stop you know it is there. I'm pulling between 4 and 5 hundred pounds. I have the extra 12x12 screen room with mine. I'm having my bike "triked" now, so I don't know how much difference it will be. Ken

    Triking

Bushwacker, That is who is triking my bike, they did a friend of mine in Indianapolis, who has an 07 RSV. The kit wasn't a Hannagin (sp). He put me onto these guys. I have had several conversations and e-mails with them. They seem like nice people to deal with. They did mention that they had someone from PA that they triked a bike for. Must have been you. Hope to meet up with you one of these days. Ken

    Triking

After a lot of consideration I have decided to trike my bike. I leave Monday the 12th to go up to Seymoure, Indiana to have a Hannigan Trike kit installed. (reason why Indiana, I have family up there and it's a good time to visit.) My legs are getting bad and it becomes hard to hold the bike up when stopping and starting again. I know that some of you have already or are in the process of triking your bike. I'm going to miss being on two wheels, but I still want to ride. I have a lot of camping to do with the bike, I mean trike. I will have some parts for an "04 White RSV, so if you know anyone that needs something in that line have them get a hold of me. I will also have a trailer hitch, and a jack adapter from Carbon 1 that I wont need any more. I look forward to riding with you all. Ken
  5. I retired last May with 37 years in law enforcement. 20 years as a K-9 officer. My mind still thinks I'm a 25 year old deputy, but my body tells me something different. For all you that are still active I wish you a healthy and safe career and that it's over before you know it. I enjoyed my 37 years, the money wasn't good, but the rewards were. Ken

    Seafoam

Park for the Winter, don't understand that meaning. I just put on a long sleve shirt and go riding. I put in about a half a can once every couple of months. Ken:stirthepot:
  7. I didn't do anything to the carbs when I put my Bubbs on. And I did put them on myself, they are easy to do. I get between 42 to 47 mpg with my bike. Between 42 and 45 when 2 up. Of course I'm not into fast take offs and high speeds on the interstates. (Try to stay off the Interstates, I like to see things, not passing cars.) Ken:detective:
  8. Eddy, I've had mine for almost 3 years now and I love my Bubbs. The only time I wish they were tuned down is when I'm on a long trip. I'm thinking about getting some ear plugs for those trips. Ride on and enjoy them. Ken:cool10:
  9. Gary, what a nice looking bike. I see "big" bucks leaving you pocket in the near future! ! Looks like there are going to be additivies coming your way. But that's the fun of having a "new to me" bike. Good luck and have fun. Ken
  10. For some reason, I almost knew what he ment. Something like a "left handed monkey wrench". Ken:cool10:
  11. I've looked at getting a toy hauler or go the Motor Coach route. I have decided to go the Motor Coach way. I can put the cycle lift on the back and still pull my vehicle behind it. There is also a golf cart that folds up and can hook onto your trailer hitch of your vehicle. www.rvrover.net that way you can have a battery/gas powered golf cart to take with you and use at the RV park. 5th Wheels are nice, but I didn't want to drive around the area in a big heavy duty truck. My choice. Good luck in your search. Ken:080402gudl_prv:
  12. One knows in his heart what he wants to say, but the words when printed seem to loose it's meaning. My prayers go out to Marks family. My belief is that Mark is in a place where there is no pain, and that he is doing everything that he wants to do. That there are "twisties" up there made out of gold and he is riding them as I write this. God Bless. Ken
  13. My prayers are with Mark. Thank you for keeping us aware. Ken
  14. Good for you Gary. Can we all go and help you spend money for this new "venture"? Hate for Squidley to have all the fun. Ken:cool10:
  15. First day at Bike Week. Was supprised that there were not so many people there. You could walk the sidewalks with out bumping into people. Going back on Sunday might be different. Maybe it was to cold! Venders were still putting out their things. Even the Speedway was easy to get into and out of. Saw only one other Venture and that was at the Speedway. It was a 2nd gen blue in color. Parked at a church 1st street south of Main st. near A1A. Cost was $4 for bikes and $6 for trikes. I have used this lot for the last three years, both for Bike Week and Biketoberfest. I just don't like to park on the stree and have someone mess with my bike. Good luck to all those who are going to "Bike Week" and ride safe. Ken:080402gudl_prv:
  16. I've had my sirius for since 05 and like it very much. Have it in my car an on the bike. Like I had posted before, I had trouble keeping a station. I bought a modulator and I have had no problems since. Works just fine. I like to listen to the old "pop", 50's and 60's also clasic radio, Shadow, Burns and Allen, Superman, etc. I think you'll like it. Ken
  17. Modulator is in (Friday) and I have taken two trips with no problems at all. Taking off again today and going up to Daytona (again). It sure is nice not haveing to find a different FM station so I can listen to my radio. Ken:)
  18. Up Date, I have installed the modulator on my bike and it worked just fine sitting in my driveway. Today I'm going on a little trip and I'll find out more. So far I haven't had to change out the Sirius ant. It was easy to hook up, a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I put the modulator next to the radio after splitting the fairing. Thanks for all the comments. Ken
  19. I also have a Battery Tender with the "pigtail". Sure makes it nice to keep the battery charged up. Of course I don't use it offten. There is too much good riding time down here to let it sit for any time at all. There are times when it gets below 70 and you have to break out the "leathers" LOL. Ken:stirthepot:
  20. Thanks to all! I'll check out my ant. I might have to get a new one, never thought it might be bad. It looked OK when I changed it over to the bike from the car. Ken
  21. I have noticed that most of you talk about XM radios and how you mounted the ant. etc. Does any one out there have a Sirius radio? or am I the only one? I had one in my vehicle and when I bought a new car it came with Sirius in it. So I moved the other one to my bike. I do have trouble keeping a good station, but I have ordered a "Sirius FM direct adapter/modulator from My Radio Store in hopes that will improve my signal. It should be here sometime this week. The radio and ant. are mounted on the left handle bar. I'm thinking about moving the ant. to the back of the bike. Any suggestions out there. Thanks, Ken
  22. Clay, You're really not going to have any spare time on your hands now. Congrats to both of you. May the little one bring a life time of joy to you. Ken
  23. Being retired Law Enforcement I carry all the time. Never know when I will meet up with that special one that did not like me putting him in jail. I believe it was HR Bill 218 that gave retired law enforcement the right to carry a firearm across the United States as long as they keep up with firearms qualifications every year. I have retired from two different Law Enforcement Agencies, one in FL, and the other in IN. I go to Indiana to qual because they have a course set up for retired officers. In 37 years I have been in four shootings, never know when number five will come. Hope never! Never wanted the first four! Ken
  24. I'll be going, but I don't know what day it will be. I try to go towards the end so I can get some deals from venders that don't want to take things back home with them. Ken:178:
  25. I'd buy from Beer 30 before going anywhere! ! ! I'm sold on his craftsmanship. Ken:)
