A good light and hemostats would be my first try. If it is ferris metal the magnet could work. You should be able to get it by pulling the side cover at the worse case. Good luck Rod

I lost our insurance after I was rearended and unable to work as an electrician any more. VA is taking care of me but Rose's trip to the hospital a few months back was over $111,000. Broke down and out Rod

We did what we did for our country for own reasons. Volunteer or drafted we answered the call to serve our country. God bless our Vets. I would do it again. Rod USAF 1975-1979

There were some problems with cold solder joints on the TCI, and a guy that refurbishes them. Starter fix is easy check on the viragotech site for instructions. Carb pilot jet 2-2 1/2 turns. My first mods were to take out the AIS, re-jet and after market air box. Have fun Rod

If you need help email me. Viragotech is a good site and http://archives.bengrosser.com/virago/ Rod

It looks like Gill has passed the RCP (Rider Coach Prep) and is now an official MFS rider coach. Some of you think easy, no big deal; trust me it is much harder than you know in every way. We just hosted a RCP to remind me how hard it is. Good for you Gill and come see us in so cal. Rod

If you can take an attitude adjustment try MFS rider coach. A very good way to pick up a few extra bucks and help new riders. Rider coach Rod

Well it could be worse. It is 90 deg here and I am still chasing electrical grimlins on the "Road Sofa". I think I have it nerrowed down to one connector in the faring. I think I need to go for a ride for parts till it cools off. Sweaty and hot Rod

The ignition switch is OK. The speedo does not work and when the needle jumps the radio gets louder??? I guess I will start at the coils. Any one have a clue what is the most likely cause would be? Rod

We went on a night ride last night and on the way home I developed a problem. The speedometer went erratic and the engine started missing badly. The speedometer quit working and the bike ran normal. Intermittently the speedometer would come on erratic and the miss would return then go off and run fine. Made it home but don't know where to start. Any one have this problem? I am thinking ignition switch or coil. Thanks Rod

This is not a DYI project! There is no way to troubleshoot the problem over the Internet so all advice is just guessing. The one thing you could do is remove all the fuses on the bad leg and replace the main fuse (have spares on hand). If the main blows the problem is in the main box. Then replace one fuse at a time to find the bad circuit, wear gloves when replacing the fuses. Leave the fuse out of the bad circuit and get an experienced electrician to fix it.
