My Dad likes making the Dr wrong. Here is a brief history. Two years ago he was diagnosed with multiple myaloma. He said I don't feel sick. One year ago the myaloma stopped his kidneys so dialysis was started. Last Wed he stopped breathing during the dialysis and his heart stopped. They shocked him back and rushed him to the ER. The Dr gave little hope of any recovery and if he did get better most likely brain damage. Well he stabilized in one day and they said he could not breath on his own, next day he was off the ventilator. The next day they brought him back from the induced coma and said don't expect him to be cognizant, he communicated by shaking his head and blinking (still had tube down his throat). Moved him to a bigger hospital yesterday and pulled the tubes and he ate dinner and is doing great. He likes making the Dr be wrong. There is no cure for his illness but we still have him for now. Thanks for the prayers. Rod

Viragos are not known to use oil. I have never added any oil between oil changes on my 1100 with 26,000 mi. I would check the valve adjstment and compression test/leak down test. Check here http://viragotechforum.com/phpBB/portal.php I get 45-50 mpg and I ride it pretty hard. Good luck Rod

A question on the tool. Could you just cut a soclet and weld a handle to make one? Thanks Rod

I would check the sidestand and clutch switches and the solenoid connections. I would also add a ground wire and check all the connectors from fuse box. Good luck Rod

I used a spare 3/4 drive 9/16 socket when I lost the spacer on mine. Rod

When they first came out a friend got 2 of them. At night they worked very well, daytime not so much. I love the idea but $$$ not there for me. Ride safe Rod

I know Barron's has. They were designing the nasty boy when I build their dyno room. I had the actual # but lost them in a computer crash. The Road King pipes with carb adjustments did better than stock; Nasty Boys with big air kit and re-jet made big HP but bad MPG. They had a kit at one time but don't know if is still available. I saw some real tire burners while I was there including turbos. Ride safe Rod

I never met a bike that I did not like for one thing or another. The Buell has a very short clutch stroke and does vibrate quite a bit. A Vstar 650, sportster, old Virago can be lowered easy and be a better long term bike. A 250 or 535 Virago will run circles around the Buell and last longer. You can also look for a GZ 250 or Rebel we use them for training bikes and do everything well under 75 mph. The older Kawasaki small cruisers are good bikes with a low seat hight and can be lowered easy. I have a 83 500 Virago for sale for $900 right now that I have been running all over for 2 weeks and it hauls my 170 lbs around just fine at 70+ freeway speeds and can be lowered more, you can look for something similar. Good luck Rod

My desk top fried the power supply. New one installed and it booted ok. 1 week of security uploads (automatic) and on restart windows loads (win 2000 pro) then freezes when IE starts. On restart (hard reboot) Error message... cannot find winnt\system32\drivers\isapnp.sys . When I try to recover with the win2000 cd it wants a boot disk A: I cant find it ( how long since you used a floppy disk). I have a external HD Western digital hard drive for a back up . I got a command prompt and got to the drive but can not open the recovery file. A long time since DOS and was not too good then. Can any one help me out. I have some work stuff that is not backed up and don't want to loose those files. I am useing my OLD laptop but it will die soon. Thanks for any help. Rod

I like mine it makes my back better. Rod

almost any bike will wheelie. On smaller bikes all you have to do is put your weight to the back and hit the throttle. Sport bikes will power wheillie at will. Lifting the front sheel is easy, landing in control is hard, rod

I am a rider coach as well and have done all of the BRC and ERC on the Venture. Practice the friction zone and you will get it. Fluching the fluid might help. Good luck Rod

In class we say the area around the 18 wheelers is the "No Zone". I tell the class to stay far away from trucks as they can. I was in my service truck ( one ton van fully loaded) and a retread hit it so hard it pushed me into the next lane. I thought I had ben hit by a car. Get past those big rigs as fast as you can. One caution if you remove the lid support. If you let the lid up with weight on it (if you have a trunk rack) the back rest can break the speaker grill. Mine has been off for 8yrs. Rod

I love that color. A very nice ride, but I prefer the Road Glide. Have many mile of smiles and ride safe. Rod
