    Taurus

I owned a 9mm Taurus back when I was in the service and it was a great gun. Shot a lot of shells through it with zero issues, Unless they radically changed in the past decade you shouldn't have any issues with a Taurus
  4. Ray, I have done a lot crazier things in my days Let me know what you come up with as there are a few ways that we can correct issues if they appear. Depending on if you have a garage to work out of, I could shoot over that way. If not you can come over here and we could do the work on a weekend.
  5. If any of the Michigan and surrounding folks are thinking about this please give Dean a call. I trust Dean's judgement with the situation and commend him for stepping up to the plate to help the folks out. Kinda makes me wish we were still in Michigan....did I really say that
  6. Ray, Dave Zipcode here in Houston had an issue with his and it turned out that the HF trailer he bought had not been welded properly. Here's a link to the write up that Zipcode did http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51272 It's lengthy, but informative and on the 93rd post you'll see what the deal was with Dave's axle. Give this a shot 1st and then go from there, I'll stick with 20 lbs of air in trailer tires
  7. A great human story for a change, it has inspired people all over the world. Good on all the people involved with getting those folks out of that mine
  8. You could, but there is a LOT of work involved. Different tank and speedo right off, then all the framework. It would really be easier to install a batwing fairing and not mess with all the headaches. The batwing fairing has much bigger speakers holes and you can put exactly whatever type of stereo in it that you want. Several members here have done it and they really look nice when they finish them off
  9. As Ponch mentioned I have about 6 gallons of the stuff that was in the tank. As far as the bill it broke down to this, drop the tank and remove the sending unit and fuel pump. Replace the o2 sensor as it coded, when they pulled the diagnostic check on it. New fuel filter and I had a lifetime warranty fuel pump on it so I had a new one installed. I'm not positive if there was a tanker there when we pulled up or not. I KNOW that I can't be the only one that got bad gas that day, no way. There just playing me and seeing if I'm going to go away....fat chance of that. You folks haven't even seen a glimpse of how much of an ahole I can be, if they keep playing me, they will find out. Like mentioned, I'm not out to scam anyone, I just want whats right. I have had a couple members PM me with some advise and I really appreciate it. My next step is making a call to the Texas attorney general and weights and measures, turn up the heat a bit. All I'm looking for is $44 spent on a tank of crap gas and the repair bill which is $390 and some change. If they do this in fairly short order I will cease and desist with this campaign, if not I will start adding monies on for my aggravation and time which will be documented. I also like the idea of filing a claim in court, that will definitely let them know that I am serious and I'm not going to play nice
  10. I don't usually get on a public rant about things, but I am now, I'll try to keep it short. About 6 weeks ago I had work done to my car, installed a new fuel pump and sending unit. Got the car back and it was running great, went to fill it up as it was empty. Stopped at a VALERO station in Tomball Texas on 249 just north of FM 2920. I ended up getting a tankful of bad gas from that station. $400 bill later from the garage the car was running again. I submitted a form to get them to pay for the repair as it was nothing I did to cause it. Well they decided to not pay the repair, so now I am starting phase 2 of my campaign against them, and give as much bad publicity as I can. I have nothing to gain by trying to scam them, I paid out the money so it's money lost for me right now. I try very hard to play by the rules and become extremely irritated when others dont play by the same rules. There are quite a few folks that know me here and my character, I can let a lot of things slid, but this time, I am going to be the biggest PITA to VALERO until they make this right. Think twice before you use VALERO, needless to say I wont be supporting VALERO and will give as much negative talk about them as I can until they step up and do the right thing.
  11. I have run mine at 20 psi and pulled a trailer for better than 30K miles. You are absolutely correct in the fact that opinions will greatly vary on this subject
  12. Very sad indeed, all the best in the recovery for Al....knee mail sent.
  13. Very nice pics Steve! Looks like you folks had a good time, still miss not being able to do that ride with y'all
  14. We were thinking about you yesterday Jim, good to hear your trip was a good one. We have done the dragon before and it's a good ride, some of the country's best riding is right in that area. That area in Tennessee was almost our new home before we pulled the trigger for Texas.
  15. Well I do build things to last, funny story there father time glad you got it up to the ceiling
  16. Cool Story....good on the 3 of them
  17. Have a good trip Jim and stay watchful, it's hunting season up there and there are deer all around. Pack some warm clothes....you'll need them
  18. Oh...Hi Kenny!
  19. My plans are to get the time to put the '99 together and ride it and the Electra Glide all winter long
  20. Then buy another 1st gen, not for me anymore, the knees just dont like the position. I like my G2's thank you very much
  21. If you want to have some help changing it out, I could meet you in Bogalusa Louisianna @ Kbrans and we could change tires out there as he has a tire machine. Just mention to him that I threw him under the bus and set a date that works for you both and I'll shoot over from Houston and we can get er done!
  22. What do you mean...he said he would share the Pygmies
  23. I always know who my true friends are BTW Don....whats the morning temps up there in Ohio??
  24. I just want to reiterate something here, as I have recieved an email or 2 about my statements above. As always, never use what I, or anyone else says on any thread, Darkside or other, as the gospel. These are our opinions and might not be what you believe of feel. Many folks ride their bike differently than I and every bike is different with it's own inherent quirks. I know there are members that trust some of the members judgements when we say thing about a product or situation. That is somewhat flattering that folks take that much stock in what we say, but I have been wrong at times, so I dont have a perfect track record. Use your best judgement when listening to some of us, we never intentionally steer anyone in the wrong direction. If you want to try a CT, please do, you will never know how it responds to you until you try it. I'm not telling people not to try one, I want everyone to have information of both the pro's and con's of running anything on their bikes. Some folks bikes never see 75 mph, so you may never had an issue with rideability. The worst case scenario in that you will try it, not like it, and buy a MC tire to install. Your out some time on the install and about $60.
