  1. I think it was February or March of '05, BradT mentioned to come over and I did. I was one of the original trouble makers. I loved the comeraderie and the banter that we had in the early days. Not many people back then and many of us were friends from the Venturers. This has been one of the best experiences in my life. I have made more friends here than anywhere else, this is a VERY cool place.....Thank Don for putting it together for us
  2. Ron, If you can get some pics to me I can help you put them up on the site. I didn't look, but did you also put it up in the classifieds? Hate to hear you have to get rid of it, but your more than welcome to stay here with us...I think you know that by now. PM me and we'll get you squared away
  3. It's not common, but there have been some RSV's that had bad rearends. It's under warranty and have them replace it. There are very distinct sounds on these bikes that if your not familiar with them, they can be misleading. As mentioned by others, if the rear hub hasn't been properly maintained it could be as simple as dry splines. There is lots of info on the site about taking care of that issue.
  4. Just to hijack this thread for a second..... There is a saying that "If you plan it they will come" that holds true for the most part. I would love to get to the West side of Texas and over towards Arizona. If you could find a place somewhere in New Mexico and post up a M&E I think you might be surprised how many would try to make it....I know would BTW....Welcome to the forum
  5. I'll be doing that too, but I'll ride down to a lot cooler than that. So my winter vacation plan is to RIDE all winter
  6. Nice way to wake everyone up you old bugger! Good to hear your still mending up nicely, keep putting that wind in your face, THAT is what will cure your ailments
  7. It's good to know that it's excess I'm sure you wont have it much longer as they seem to sell rather quick. Looking forward to seeing your "New" bike
  8. You are exactly right, this site started about the bikes, but has turned into a family. I too am a member of HDforums, there is good info there, but getting it is like pulling teeth. You just have to know how to tickle their ego's....such is life. Were glad your here, as well as all the members that call this place home. This is a VERY unique site and you wont find another place quite like this on the web. Don has often commented that this site has surpassed his wildest expectations. It truely is the people that make this place what it is, I'm glad that I'm here
  9. This would be my guess too, had it happen to me on my '86
  10. Sorry to hear it, another bike perhaps, or just the economy doing another one of us in?
  11.
  12. Hate It!!!! What fun is it when you can just find it easy Suffer through the search and become more attuned with the site....man you and your trying to make things easier
  13. Cool Beans Grandpa Gary and Grandma Mary!!!
  14. I will say that I have no reservation trailering any bike I own. There are some times when you want to get a hoof on it and run. 750 miles on a bike in a day will kill you, easier in a vehicle where your a bit more comfortable. Of course we will all bust eachothers chops about doing it, but sometimes when you get old it's nice to run in air conditioning and enjoy the trip a bit more
  15. Have you ridden with them in the dark? If so how well do they light up the road. I like the idea of them as long as they are useful for additional seeing at night.
  16. OK I'll bite.....how do you know
  17. I've read this before, but I still laugh at all the responces
  18. Whoooo Me Can't say that I have ever seen an '07 Blue & Black on a RED trailer pulled by a White Chevy....no sireee
  19. Fresh Meat!!
  20. Ray, Absolutely! my # is in my profile when you get this way just let me know and we'll give it a good once over
  21. Thanks for all your hard work for us Lewis, shirt looks great and I'll be bidding on one myself
  22. I know a few of those folks....had a great time with you 2. Looking forward to seeing you both again real soon
  23. That is awesome news my friend We are looking forward to seeing again soon
  24. If you haven't done a complete tune up since you bought the bike I would suggest that. Randy is spot on with the resistor, I always change plugs, wires and caps on any 1st gen I own or work on just so I can rule those out if I have to start trouble shooting.
  25. Thom, down here in Texas, has something like it and it works out pretty well. Depending on the price it might be ok, Only issue is that you loose access to the side of the bike that the lift arm and support is on
