  1. If your diggin it, thats all that counts, personally I think you need to embelish the 2 tone a bit more. It seems to me to blend and get lost with all that gray on the front fairing. This is just my observation and some here will gladly attest that they think I'm full of BS
  2. Just want to put out also that showing up can be a last minute deal. You dont have to let us know, there will be plenty of food and the door, as always, is open. If plans fall through for anyone with their dinner date....just show up and we'll take care of the rest
  3. Yeah...the Kitchen Ninja knows Janets always welcome at the house, your welcome to drive here there We have a spare room for you, although you might have an issue getting Rose to let you back in the house when you return Looking forward to seeing you and Mary again my friend!
  4. Congrats Jim! The Goldwing is a fine machine and hope you get many miles out of it. Yamaha will loose more and more touring riders as they dont seem to care about upgrading....their loss. As far as us here, you know your more than welcome on whatever you show up on
  5. Just want to give out an offer to any of our members (be it here in Texas or any other place close by) that may not have plans for Thanksgiving. Lonna is like a Ninja in the kitchen, she loves to cook the big holiday meals, actually gets put out a bit when she can't do it We have been very blessed this year with work and monies coming in. We have a ham and I will be deep frying a turkey and the fixins will come along for the ride. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come over, I know there will be enough food to feed an army. I very sincerely extend this offer to come to our home and share in Thanksgiving with us. PM me if your interested and I can send you an address
  6. Eck....Your so my hero!
  7. This should be an interesting build to see, could you humor us as you go along with it and post the progression
  8. I like it, very art deco looking, but I dont think it's a motorcycle. It looks like you set in it, and unless it has holes in the floor area, you couldn't set your feet on the ground to hold it up
  9. Phill, You have a wonderful talent there, great slideshow
  10. Cliff, Lots of good advise mentioned here, I'll second the tire pressures. Run your rear at just about max on the sidewall indication. Some tire mfgrs are different with their max pressures, Avon Venoms are 50 lb tires while Dunlops are 40 lb tires. I usually ran mine at max on the rear and about 36 on the front. Another thing to look at is your shock pressures, I'm a big guy 5'11" and 280 lbs, so I have a lot of ballast I would run my suspension a bit stiffer, about 55 lbs in the rear shock on the #3 damper setting. The front I would run at about 14 lbs. Seeing it's all new to you, did it come with detailed maintenance records? Another thought is the front fork oil, how long has it been in there? The fork brace, is it nice and tight. The rear swing arm pivot bushings where the swingarm connects to the frame, are the tightened properly? There are a lot of different things it could be, considering it's a 19 year old bike. Try the tire pressures and suspension setting 1st and if you still have issues come back on and we'll help you figure it out. Welcome to the club Shipmate, from another Uncle Sam yacht club member
  11. I'm right with Steve here dont waste money on getting a premix as your paying twice as much. Any good name brand antifreeze will do, just dont get the orange dexcool type, green is the one
  12. Congrats to the newlyweds and your new empty nest status...let the trips begin!
  13. Happy Birthday My Friend!!!!
  14. Your an observant one there Bob The Shovel is idle right now. Still a bit more to do, but not a lot of time right now to do it. Monkey Boy is needing some help before his surgery and were trying to get things squared away with him 1st. Couple of weeks I'm thinking...and you were spot on with your advise about the stator, gotta do a bit of shimming, Thanks again Buddy
  15. Cool Beans Grandpa!
  16. Kind of a cool place isn't it David Karma is a good thing and you have reaped what you have sown
  17. There are quite a few members that run the Silverstars, both the regular and the Ultras. They are a decent bulb, but pricey, I just replace a set of Silverstars in my wife's SUV as she had a bulb burn out before we moved down to Texas last year. I was disappointed to say the least that we only got about 16 months out of the bulb as one went out 2 days ago and I replaced it with a set of the Ultras. I also had a Silverstar on one of my '99's and it went out within a month. Autozone replaced it, but I wasn't impressed. It states right on the package that they dont have a long life expectancy. I think if I were to do it all over again I wouldn't go with a Silverstar. I will probably order a pair of PIAA's to replace the Ultras I just installed and sell them outright. Some will come on here and say they are the best thing since sliced bread, but I'm not one of them. The light output is ok, but I have seen the PIAA's and they were brighter in my estimation.
  18. Our pleasure my friend! Sucks that you had to turn right back out again, but being home for Thanksgiving will be nice. Lots of love to Shari, 1 for not being able to see us and 2 for having to put up with you! Looking forward next time you make it back down to the Republic of TEXAS!
  19. Folks, Not to get carried away here, I know many of us are VERY PASSIONATE about our political and firearm views. I or any of the other Moderators dont want to see this one head south. I have very strong opinions on gun control and politics, but I dont express them here. Lets not turn this into an all out rant, I know we can all agree that things aren't good.
  20. Cool Beans!!
  21. I did see that thread, but wanted to know if it was a different company. Gunboat just installed a set on his '99, I haven't had a chance to swing a leg ovwer his and see what they are like in the dark
  22. Where did you find them at?
  23. All the best to you Bob, we'll keep you in our thoughts my friend.
  24. Never want anyone here to feel that we dont have their best interests in mind
  25. Dont beat yourself up Mark....we'll do that for you
