I know it is a personal thing, but I totally agree!

Good luck with getting it built and keep us posted. I relate to Buckshot's comment. Do you have the option of going wider?

Good luck with your ride!

Squidley's advice sounds like good advice for all of us Charlie! In fact, I bet it was worth more than the money to them to be able to call on someone under their circumstances and be helped the way you helped them.

--- what Chabicheka said... So glad he and Dogman were available to also ride and spend some good time with Rocket and Rod. Just imagine taking the summer off to ride and meet VentureRider friends across Canada and the US - like Rocket and Rob are doing. Enjoy!

Gary, both Anne and I want to offer our condolences. We know that even if your father lived a long and good life, his passing leaves you with some emptiness. Our thoughts are with you and Mary.

Dogman and his wonderful wife came visiting recentlhy, and brought some Hot Sex with them. They rode over six hours through rain threatening weather to bring it. We had a great visit and all enjoyed the Hot Sex and after that, we told stories around a campfire. Thanks Dave and Bernie!

Head bearing - starting to stick.
Evan replied to alvald83's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I had the same problem and with the help of Mother, we were able to get at the top bearing without removing the fairning or forks. That allowed me to remove the top bearing which was dry and repack it. My plan was for that to be a temporary fix until I could replace both bearings. That was a year ago and the steering is still "like new". Just my own experience for what it is worth! -
Wayne - From this summary of your time so far. your trip is somethiong like a good dream. The only part of the dream that I wonder about is the Road King Ultra. It must have been a letdown from your V R - or was it ????

Sure hope you catch a few breaks James that will also allow you to reconnect. Good luck!

Welcome back to Ontario. Glad to hear you had a good trip but did they check for lemon slices again at the border?
-
Hey Rocket - been busy and off line for a few days up north (near North Bay), just a few hours from Charlies place. Can't believe I missed you guys at Timmies with Charlie or at Carl's or as you passed through Toronto - minutes from my place. Hope I can catch up with you guys somewhere along the way. When are you heading to Borden? I hope to ride back to Toronto sometime before Friday so will be at the cottage for another night or two - a good ride and stopover if it works for you. Will PM you to see if we can connect.

Enjoy your very special adventure Annie and Al. Hope to see you again near the end of your journey.

I also have a pair of Dakota boots that are good but the best piai of riding boots for me are ones that have a softer rubber tread. The reason I like them best is because the VR is relatively top heavy and I feel safest with these boots with the better grip when I am "feet down".

From my own experience, it does sit you noticeably higher and in my case, it made it a bit less confortable to use the highway pegs until I trimmed the sides, which was easy to do.

--- from far and wide. Here are just a few states represented. If you would like, add your state or province if it is not included. For example, I will add the province of Ontario, which was well represented. Thanks again to Don and Eileen!

Great for Quickstep! Thumbs up :thumbsup2:to all those involved.

--- so Carl, with Wayne's (hopefully short) departure delay, is the plan still to meet at the Casablanca by 9:00. As it stands, Saddlebum, Dogman and I (with Anne behind) plan to be there by then.

Hope all goes well Wayne and that you still feel comfortable in getting away, as family first for sure.
