He needs a name Carl. Why not invite suggestions. You should get some food ones.

On my way to Marcarl's this spring, I ran over something that did a job on my exhaust collector (on the highway at 70mph). Ended up with two fairly large holes on the botom, one with a large dent. Carl tried a patch but that did not hold. I tried more patching with some muffler cement and again, the heat and pressure blew holes in the patch areas. Any reason why I can't weld a patch in place? How important is it to try to straighten out the indent before patching? All comments appreciated!

I'm getting hungry just reading all these posts. Happy planning Carl!

These sound interesting. Any pictures? Steven, did you purchase yours? -
My wife Anne and I plan on riding out to Vancouver, leaving Toronto mid August, so I am listening real well to all the helpful ideas.

Good tribute Ray. Makes us all think about our own mothers and how important it is to let them know they are loved.

Kevin, like others, I want to thank you for posting this video. Watched it all. Very uplifting. Your son is a special guy!

Hey Charlie - Since your gas prices are almost always 5 to 10 cents above ours here in sunny southern Ontario (at least in Toronto), your still getting a deal cause our prices are not much less right now - and going up some more tonight!

Bob, I will send you a PM to try to describe my radio problem as I am not sure myself what parts might help. -
Yea - I know Charlie. I was going to jump on the VR this morning and ride your way (to the cottage) because of the summy weather down here in Toronto. Then I checked the weather in your area. Crazy!

Just have one, my 88VR, and would buy a second if the right deal comes up.

Ditto --- I love my cruise control and find my most comfortable ride position when under cruise is resting my hand on my right leg. When I want that extra stability feeling, I generally rest the palm of my hand on the throttle handle. Like others, I learned not to rest my hand over the kill switch, which is where I would prefer if it weren't for the switch. Been thinking about trying to jerry rig some protection so I can rest my hand there when I want to. For some reason, it doesn't feel good for me using the mirror or the brake fluid reservoir.

Bob, good to hear that what you now see is "bright and colourful" but sorry about the max limit on your credit card. Life can be a challenge!

If it is not too late, I would like a 5 3/4 in patch.

Thanks very much Carl. I checked the Nelson-Riggs website and it looks just like what am looking for.
