  1. Looks good Annie Enjoy that rig and get some miles in for me as I am going to the sandbox and wont be on a bike for another year. Be carefull and take it slow otherwise your riding buddies wont be able to keep up with you.:rotfl::rotfl: Jeff
  2. Yes if that is the problem it can be fixed without splitting the case I can post pics of what you will be looking at in the morning I have a parts motor that doesn't have the clutch basket on it in the shop. Jeff
  3. Shawn Pull the clutch cover off and look at the star shaped pin holder a common problem with these bikes is that one of the alignment pins like to come out on some of these bikes. What you will be looking at is items 6 7 and 8 of this index. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/yamaha-motorcycle-venture-royale-xvz13du-1988/o/m7882 Jeff
  4. Mini posted pics of my rack on the 86 and I will tell you that I have hauled a Venture frame on it had 8 12 packs of Pepsi on it and even hauled my tools on the rack I figure we have around 15000 miles with the rack on the bike with little to no problems. The corners are getting a little thin from scraping when we are coming out of driveways but as far as dangerous I dont think so.This was my way to get around higher tolls and being able to carry stuff with me.I hate the toll charges for trailers. The biggest thing I will tell you is Lights and make sure you rtag is visible from 30 feet the LOEs will probably chime in on this. The local LEOs are a pain in the *)^ about the tag thing you can check your locals on that though. The rack looks good and you will enjoy the extra room it provides. Jeff
  5. Bare end What all do you have for the factory radio? If you have the box's that go into the fairing and the top radio plate you have an Ic. As far as the CB goes I have the wiring schematic for the power side. The interconnect cable goes between the Cb and the amplifier with a 6 pin din cable all the cables have 90 dergree ends. I added an 86 cb to my 83 4 years ago and have had no problems.Give me a call if you still have any questions. Jeff
  6. I get the 7mm copper stranded wire from my dealer for $1.00 a foot and the caps are$3.95 each.the cap numbers are SD05F and XD05F I have tried the ones on ebay but they did not last very long. Jeff
  7. Look on page 2 of the paint code book here. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1404 Jeff
  8. Scott to answer the question it is located on the oil pan left side of the bike forward of the drain plug. You may need to resolder the display or the switch wiring the oil level light is a pain in the hind side but if she is full of oil keep on riding. I hope you and Sherry are having a great time. Let us know if you need any more questions answered. Jeff
  9. Well if Dan does not stop his whining I will Kick his hind quarters in 2 weeks when I am in WV for the Skid in. Dan which of my bikes will out run your new wheel chair? Patsy do I still need to bring you a gag for Dan? Dan we are so glad that you are still with us we would not care if you whined non stop because we LOVE the Yammer Dan and his Ugly bike. Jeff
  10. I dont know what the black part is but the rest looks like a tuggs induction kit I have in the I gotta get these parts installed pile. If you want to see the pics of what I have just ask. Jeff
  11. No the frame will not go wonky when you remove the rear sub frame Condor. There are 4 bolts holding it together 2 at the front of the seat and 2 at the front of the crash bars (big chrome nut) I have swapped out the MK1 and MK2s before they bolt up the same.Let me know if I can answer any more questions. Jeff
  12. Randy get a small cotter pin and bypass the kill switch and ride it.I would suspect the kill switch before the TCI. Jeff
  13. No they are different part numbers the brake kit is 16974-001 and the clutch part number is 24446-001 It make sense that they are not interchangable due to the fact that the brake requires alot more pressure to work than the clutch does. the clutch after market kit number is 32-4146 made by K&L and it retails for $18.25 as of a few months ago from my dealer. Jeff
  14. There is a fitting on the tripple tree but I would suggest not opening it to try and get the air out (done that did not help).I have had no problems bleeding the brakes by the manual. Jeff
  15. Arthur I waited for you to bring the new bike over so we could go for a ride but maybe you are just a little tired from riding the Cow all day. Keep it away from Beer or it may be covered in leather and look like a real cow. Glad you got to get it and was able to take the family with ya as well. See ya soon Jeff
  16. Target practice :rotfl::rotf:
  17. Ok I need some wisdom from the family. Where is the most reasonably priced place to purchase pelican cases.I need 4 for the trip to the sandbox for my tool and at $130.+ each this is gonna hurt I am looking at the 1510 and the 1441 with a possible on the 1610 not sure which one to get but gonna get some real soon I need them for my tools. Thanks Jeff
  18. Jim the truck tool box was done by Squidley and he said it pulled fine he built his to carry his golf clubs. The harbor freight trailer works good the way it is I did not modify mine at all I did put the cooler on the tounge because you need to adjust the tounge weight to the box weight you need at least 25 to 35 pounds on the ball. The trailer has not slowed me down one bit it is stable all the way up to 125 mph with the tounge weight set properly. You also need to adjust the tire pressure accordingly I run 15 psi in mine and when I put the 86 Venture parts bike on it I set the tires at 20 psi. (No that did not make me run slower either) As far as the tounge length it could be longer to make the ride more stable at all speeds so far as backing it up I have no problems. I only know the trailer is there on take off and when stopping. If you do build a trailer you need to ride it alone for at least a week by yourself so you can get used to it, You dont need to learn to pull a trailer with Wendy on the bike because it will take the curves different and you need to get a feel for it. Give me a call if you need any more info. Jeff
  19. I love my hack but I am going to have to sell it finding room for it is a problem I have made arangements to store 5 of the bikes while I am in Iraq but the hack is another story. Jeff
  20. No the hitch will not work on an 84 you need to find one from a 83 to 85 the MK2 is totally different due to the crash bars. Jeff
  21. I have 2 mascots one on the 83 and a different one on the 86 I will try to get Mini to post pics of them in the morning we are resting up from a 500 mile ride today so be patient.(to many food stops) Jeff
  22. Eck I want an 1800 wing motor to put into the Blonde imagine how much more fun I would have with that combination.
  23. I think Mini made a decision and test drove a new Honda insight. For any of you that know her this is a Big deal she likes her Mustangs but agreed to buy a new car while I am in the sand box. Jeff
  24. Buddy the first thing I would look at is the Kill switch then the ignition switch. and dont forget to check the main relay that is under the battery. one of the guys I worked with had a not wanting to run problem after it rained all day and the daignosis was a bad contact in the kill switch. Jeff
  25. Which cables do you need? Call 2523382211 tuesday and talk to Jennifer or Larry if you buy them from him we will mail them to you. Jeff
