Mini just got me 4 new diaphrams with slides for my 83 from Momma Yamma they are still available but a little on the pricey side. If they arent available in Canada let us know and you can call her at work and do the credit card thing if you want and we can mail them to you. Jeff

I want to thank you two for making the trip and visiting with so many of our members.Having been able to meet a member from another continent was great. Have a safe trip home and rest up for your next adventure. Jeff

cold starting
muffinman replied to barend's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If the battery load tests good then I would suggest that you take the starter brushes out and clean the armature and brushes.I had one that was hard to turn over and that fixed the problem.Ricks motorsports electrics has a 4 brush plate that looks like it will work in the Venture starter motor I was looking at the catalog friday if mine acts up again I am going to get one for the blonde. Mine came with the following original options from 1984 front bumpers, rear lighted bumper, driving light, convertible top with removable bar,it had the electric lean but its froze up,brakes, aluminum wheel,3 outlet power port, removable windshield, rear view mirror, I did have a problem a while back and had to have the torsion bar upgrade but they took care of me on that I want to say it was $125.00 for the upgrade returned to us. I like it because its a heavy hack that I cannot get the wheel up in the air no matter how hard I try.It was very stable before we had the torsion bar problem. have not reinstalled it since that was just before I went to the sandbox and the 92 hasnt been started since so after I get the blonde back on the road that is the next project for me to work on. Give me a call if ya want I am not working at the moment but am gonna get a job in a few weeks.(starting to run out of money) Jeff

Mine is not attached at the moment but I still have her she is a motorvation formula 2 lift nose with all the options except the travel rack and spare tank.Motorvation is great with info and help.I got mine from an owner that knew nothing about it and when I called them they took the time to explain things to me and even sent me mounting info with pics so that it would be done right.I would suggest that which ever hack you get that you have it installed by some one that does it for a living, even though it looks simple it is a bit of a pain to get right but when its mounted correctly man what a fun ride mine didnt slow me down at all in the curves and the best thing is you will always have your trailer with you so getting extra goodies isnt a problem cause you will have the room for them, Call me if you have any questions number is in profile Jeff

Cassett deck elimination.....?
muffinman replied to fixit3546's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If you jumper pins 1 and 7 the radio will work without the casette deck I use a female flat blade connector to do this just be sure to insulate the connector so it doesnt ground out. Jeff -
Well to make a long story short Mini has been buying me parts for the blonde sine I first left for the sandbox and I started using them this week.Got the bike running for the first time since 2008 and started with the parts installations put 2 new EBC rotors on a spare front wheel took the caliper off the 84 gotta have good brakes.and I rebuilt the starter.still have a loooong way to go before she hits the road but didnt keep me from doing a few laps in the yard today with a nekkid bike just to feel the power and true comfort of a first gen:banana::banana:. It wont be long till the wing gets sold just want to have the Blonde ready to terrorize the roads with. I will try to keep yall updated but the more I get to play with her the more I want to do to make her road worthy I forgot how much I really love the 83.And I have to make the rear brakes work that will be a first for me all the brakes on the blonde working at the same time LOL Gotta go still have a pile of parts about 3 feet high to put on her. Jeff

muffinman replied to jprider4life's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I prefer EBC HH pads never heard them squeel on the first gens and have not heard any complaints from those who use them on the second gens. Check out EBC they have an online catalog you can download to see whats available. Jeff -
A fe observations of a Bike stored outside. Should I be concerned
muffinman replied to muaymendez1's topic in Watering Hole
The key to storing your bike outside is to keep the moisture down under the cover.Take the cover off the bike on days that its not going to rain or put a small fan under the cover to keep the air moving I do both as needed to keep the corrosion down. It sounds like the starter switch might be to far gone to make work but it is worth a try to take it apart again and clean it good before it is lubed up. the noise in the front wheel might be a wheel bearing do not take a chance with it the bearings are cheap and its not worth the possibility of them locking up while you are riding.take the wheel off and check or have them checked out at the dealer also when putting it back together make sure you lube the speedo drive gear. Good luck Jeff -
Intermittant ignition issue
muffinman replied to Solodadof2's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I would bypass the kickstand switch and ride it to see if thats the problem had that happen to a VR and had to jump the switch to get home one time. Jeff -
Hello, Everyone! I spoke with Jeff this morning and he asked me to post a Note on the Forum to let everyone know that he and Margaret and everyone else in the area are doing fine after the storm. They are without electricity, as the utility turned it off yesterday morning around 9 AM, but they do have a generator. They have no land line phone and no internet, hence the request for me to give you an update. BlackJack

Here is a few pics of how I got two motorcycles to Georgia. I did have a fatality on the way that made for a very long trip at about the 4 hour mark of a 11 hour ride my cigarett lighter decided to eject from the handlebar but the trip went on.I made it to Atlanta without a ticket or other problem so I consider myself lucky. And Yes I will do the same thing again if the need arises. Jeff

Wes I never had that problem but advance and autozone do carry upgraded bearings and seals in a kit for around $20 I want to say the part number is 1001 its a timken kit. Jeff
