VR not running well in 4th and 5th gear
muffinman replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mark it sounds like you might have water in the carbs Did you get a bad tank of gas? Does it eventually run better in 4th gear under heavy load?(wide open throttle) put a can of seafoam in it and run hard till its empty then refuel and ride it to see if its any better. Jeff -
Get in touch with a sidecar installer I talked to a wing and a chairs owner and he said there is a CT setup for most bikes when you add an easy stear to a hacked rig Jeff

Markland Passenger Armrests for 1986-1993
muffinman replied to Prairiehammer's topic in General Tech Talk
Kevin The MK2s have the same bolt for the trunk rack that holds my style arm rests in place. What you are seeing is the trunk relocation kit and thats why it looks different to you. The last pic you posted looks like it might be able to be used with a minor mod or 2 Jeff -

Kevin I have a set on my Blonde that came from a 84 I will try to get pics today and post them tonight of what I have Or you can text me and I will text you back a pic 9196735095 Jeff -
the blonde 83 is known as THE Blonde the wing is called the bat because every bug in the state tries to get between the headlights. And is such a pain to try and keep them off the bike

Just wanted to publicly thank Aurthur for taking care of the BAT for me while I was down with the foot healing. Thanks Aurthur Jeff

Well after almost 8 weeks off the scoot I went and stole it back from ADC while he was at work I had to put a string on the shifter shaft to get it in the upper gears but I got a ride in did almost 120 miles this afternoon just running around the area getting my butt reacquainted with the seat. I am working on adding an accesory to the walking boot so I can shift without a string if it works I will post pics so others can use the idea if they have a need Jeff

Patching a rear or any MC tire
muffinman replied to PGunn's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
like was already said in the main part of the tread is ok but the only repair I will do to my tires is a plug patch I trust them at all speeds and have never had one let go Jeff -
Rachael next time it happens see if its has spark at the plugs some of the Ventures are having problems with the #4 coil going bad.I have never heard of a TCI going bad on your bike not saying thats not it but you never know.I would eliminate the simple things first.I have seen one not want to start due to a bad kill switch I dont think that the carbs are the issue I would suspect a coil or relay to be the culprit dont forget the simple things like the kickstand switch as well Let us know what you find You can call me if you need to my number is 9196735095 between 9 am and 9pm est Jeff

Hanging fuel cell for Garage ceiling
muffinman replied to deepforkriver's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
I use a $1.00 aluminum bottle with air fittings inside there is 1/2" of unusable fuel in the can and a universal fuel filter the most expensive part is the fuel shutoff valve. I drilled a 1/8th inch hole in the lid for venting. I hang it from the ceiling in my shop or off the handle bars on the road for doing colortunes . Jeff -
Well Mini and I went to New York for Christmas with her family as we do every year and when I got home I noticed that there was one empty parking space in the yard. Has anyone seen a white 12 wing that is missing a fat guy on it? As some of you know I had surgery on my left ankle on 12-6 and the doctor said that I would be off the foot for as long as 4 months depending on how well it heals. So I dont even look over to the bike parking area.No need to depress myself. I think I know who has the wing but am not sure Hopefully my bike will be at the annual even though I will be in a cage with the foot in a boot that I cant walk on. Keep your eyes open and let me know if yall see my bike Depressed grounded fat man (jeff)
