  1. When my PC went out I lost the link to be able to search Craiglist nationwide. Only way I can find to search it is city by city. Could someone pass the link along to me. Thanks...Karl.
  2. Safety not Saftey. True story on MLive today; A 42-year-old Grand Blanc Township man may do well with a refresher course on gun safety. The man was hunting small game in Grand Blanc Township on Sunday when he tied his shotgun on a rope so he could carry it up a tree. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that plan, right? As he was making his way up the tree, the hunter dropped the gun and it went off. Repeatedly. The first shot his left leg, followed by another shot that hit his right leg. Ouch. He was able to crawl out to a nearby road where a relative came to his aid. He was taken to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. He later told police he thought the shotgun's safety was on. Officers then informed him it's probably not the best idea to tie the rope around the trigger. On the bright side, the Department of Natural Resources came out and ruled it a hunting accident and that the man had not broken any laws. http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2012/02/offbeat_unsafe_gun_use.html
  3. Missed 6, I guess I can stay.
  4. Most salvage yards use "paint pens" to mark their parts, and are oil based paint. If the salvage yard will tell you what brand and type they used you could look it up on the products web site to see how to remove it. We always used WD-40 and it didn't harm the finish on painted parts or GLASS windshields but never had to remove it from motorcycle windshields before. But if you can find out what they used it could help.
  5. I'd replace the battery before doing anything else, a shorted battery can cause the heat and smoking cables when trying to jump it.
  6. Bought a 1972 CB500 new as a graduation present to myself.
  7. Nice pictures, a lot of it is the same route we took when we rode to the West coast in 2006. One of my favorite roads is highway 12 from Lolo Montana to Aberdeen Washington. Trip of a lifetime, brought back good memories.
  8. Guy put in a AGM battery and sold the VR to a guy and told him the battery light was on because the sensor wire didn't work with a AGM battery. (which we all know is correct) Seems after a couple months the new owner took the bike to a dealer and the dealer told him the light was on because the stator is bad and it would cost $1800.00 to fix.. The new owner even has the sensor in his hand in front of the Judge. Judge Joe Brown looked at the picture of the bike and knew where the stator is located and said it can't cost that much to change. Well the new owner was trying to get the $1800.00 from the old owner to repair the bike. It ended up the new owner really wanted the money to go by a Harley that his wife wanted.. The Judge denied the new owner any money and told him he had a nice cruiser and should ride it and if he didn't like it go by a Harley. Surprised me how much Judge Joe Brown knew about the Venture.

  10. AM Radios and under the dash mounted 8 tracks. Pay phones were everywhere. You had to find something to do on your own, parents were not an entertainment committee. And if you wanted to go somewhere you rode your bike. #13 I like the best. Go outside and get lost or you were put to work. Of course that was after you got you normal chores done. Funny thing is, back then you hardly ever saw overweight kids.
  11. The Dragon is a fun ride and it's worth riding, the Cherohala Skyway is a beautiful enjoyable ride. Daughter and I rode the Dragon from North to South then rode the Skyway west to Tellio Plains. Then took 39 to Athens and spent the night at a hotel at 30 and I-75. Rode straight back to Flint from there. Very doable three day trip but we did it during the week without all the weekend madness.
  12. Transfagarasan – Romania Thats my dream road. My son will be there this summer, his girlfriend (soon to be wife) is from Romania and they are going with her family for a visit. Now wouldn't it be a great Fathers day gift if he took me with them? heck, just let me rent a motorcycle and I'd be out of their hair as long as they want. North Yungas “Road of Death” – Bolivia NO WAY!!!

  15. I will never know how the Giants ever win any game with that scatterbrained Coughlin for a coach. Should be a good SuperBowl.
  16. This NFC Game is a good game too. Should be a wild 4th quarter.
  17. Strange pictures, Little green things on the tree branches and no white stuff on the ground? Can't be, must be Photoshopped.
  18. WOW, thought we were going to have OT.
  19. This Pats-Ravens is a good game. Giants and 49er's should be also. 2:00 warning, Ravens need another stop. Guess I'm rooting for a HarbaughBowl.
  20. I was put on one a few years ago after being sent to a sleep clinic, one night the thing malfunctioned and just kept forcing air in and not allowing me to exhale. (like it was trying to blow up a balloon) By the time I woke up and ripped the mask off I couldn't breathe and thought I was going to choke to death. I went to a ear, nose and throat specialist, he determined I needed nose surgery to open up the airways because of my nose being broken three times. After the surgery, no more snoring and no problems sleeping. Some of these sleep clinics are just out for the big money they charge insurance companies for the machine and the supplies. I'm NOT saying none of you don't need them but in my case the nose surgery was what I needed, not the machine.
  21. :Crazy_139: Congratulations Larry.
