  1. ventures.org has several clips in here (http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/?action=article&cat_id=002009&id=285) but none of the nasty boys. May give you some insite though.
  2. SWEET! I like the diamond plate.
  3. Great pics and it looks like you all had a good time. Thank you for sharing the pics. 2,500 bikes must have been quite a sight to see.
  4. Nice install!! Your gonna love it, especially the first time you wake up a cage. I have 2 on mine and consider it one of the best mods so far. Thanks for sharing your pics and plans.
  5. Sounds like maybe the basis for another award for him...
  6. LED's are great, I put the license frame holder and LED plate in the back (pics in profile). Really lights things up. SOOO much better than stock. I have been looking into a tri bag for the windshield too and I don't want to drill my windshield. I found this one http://www.carolinaleatherworks.com/winbag721.html and it should mount up by using the stock holes and bolts and just drill out/cut the mounting plastic on the bag. Haven't done it yet, working other mods first.
  7. I helped a buddy of mine put a set of the Kuryakyn ones on his scooter a while back. I can tell you they look cool and the added turn signals were great, but the mirrors I wasn't impressed with. IMHO, The field of vision was terrible because they are flat, not convex like stock. They are also smaller than the stock ones. After sitting on his bike when we were done, I decided I wasn't going to get any. Know another rider friend that had them and took them off for the same reason. I am still researching turn signals for up top. Thinking about some 2" strips (amber) to mound on or under the brake/clutch reservoirs. That way I get the added lighting without the flat mirror.
  8. Look here http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002010&id=168. Shows good pictures of the carbs. It can be done without removing the carbs, just need a long screwdriver to pry off the caps.
  9. NICE!!! Wish you could have though...
  10. SWEET! Nice looking carrier.
  11. High Intensity Discharge... aka brighter.

  13. Congrats, your gonna love the bike. My 07 is black also and keeping her clean is a challenge. I use pledge or other type furniture polish for a quick wipe down between washings. Works on everything, chrome, paint, windshield, etc.
  14. I completely understand. That is why I went in stages to make sure I knew what it sounded like each time. I guess the mods could be reversed if you punch out the baffles instead of drilling them out. That is what I did. Used a long rod to knock them loose and then pushed them through. Could be a challenge to get the little circle back down the center and then hope it stays, but with patience, a long extension with a socket, it could be done. Good luck.
  15. I put a set of the HD RK's on my 07 midnight RSTD. Did the stages as I went. No mod sounded the same as stock. Removed forward baffle, a little better, but not what I wanted. Removed rear baffle and could see through the pipes, really liked the sound then. Just enough to sound good, but not enough to wake up the neighbors.
  16. Harbor Frieght, WOLO air horn. They have several types, one just like the Stebel in black or chrome. Cheaper than Stebel. Have 2 on my RSTD, both work great.
  17. A friend on mine had something like that happen on his bike (honda 1800), It was the shift lever. The pivot needed to be greased. Pulled the center bolt, cleaned it up and greased it, problem solved.
  18. All I can say is... wow. I actually took the time to read all of the guys posts in the thread. You can't calibrate stupid, but it is compressable.
  19. You didn't mention the mixture screws, did you set them to 2 1/2 out? I had the same issue with my RSTD until I started fiddling with those. The #1 was so leaned out it wasn't firing right. Would sputter at idle and pop. After I did some adjusting, it has settled out nice.
  20. I noticed the same thing on mine that last time I washed it, but it was on the rear carbs, #1 and 3. Just a light coating that had picked up dirt. Had some in the air box too. Figure it came from the crank case breather tube.
  21. "It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag." - Father Dennis Edward O'Brian, USMC God bless all who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we, in this great nation may be free. If you can read this, thank a teacher, if you are reading it in english... thank a vet. Thank you brothers and sisters.
  22. This site Rocks, just got done checking the cap, not loose, but not tight. Blue stuff in and now tight. Thanks for passing this along.
  23. Sounds like a classic case of a dead cell in the battery. I have seen this several times on cars. 12v until you crank it, then it plumets. Have the battery tested.
  24. That is one heck of a trip. I must say I am jealous. Be safe and keep the shiny side up.
