  1. Very smooth looking mod, great job! Way to go on making good use from unused space. Wish I could come up with somthing that clean looking for the RSTD.
  2. If I had to guess, when you drained the floats, they/it came unstuck. If thy are moving freely, you should be good. I would put it back together and see what happens.
  3. Eck, I think Freebird covered it, but make sure you test a piece first. A lot depends on the size and thickness of the material. The temp was based on some research I did. Some said 250deg, others 300. I started at 250 and moved up from there during testing. My test piece was in for about 20 min to be somewhat pliable, but the real piece was bigger so it stayed in longer. Lots of good info out there online. Also, be sure to put in on something flat. I used a cookie cooling rack and ended up with some lines in the bottom. They didn't really show on the final, but it can be avoided with a flat cookie sheet or upside down baking pan.
  4. Clay, Glad you are safe, keep it that way and keep your head down.
  5. Sounds like you have it set up right and based on your readings I am sure you do. Your indications are 13.3 volts DC, which means your battery is charged. With that, I am thinking your Kur should have at least one green light. You may want to try and put the meter on the wires you are hooking up. That will tell you what voltage is going to the Kur.
  6. If you give me the model number, I may be able to give you more specifics, but, you need to be set on DC voltage. If it doesn't say that the symbol is a solid line under a dashed line. You are looking for a reading of 11-14 if you are directly on the battery. Red to positive, Black to negative.
  7. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the dealer. Send a complaint to the BBB. Even in this day and age, those folks have some pull. Good luck and don't let this take away from the joy of your ride.
  8. Gary, best of luck tomorrow. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Post again when you can. Jim
  9. Thanks for the post. I have been looking for a good one color decal. This one is perfect!
  10. If the bolt spacing is right, they might work. But, you would have to cut the stock plastic cover since the stock mounts go into the holes. The Kuryakan's look like they have a solid mounting plate instead of the "spacer" holes. You could always call a well stocked dealer to see if they have any you could 'test fit'. Good luck.
  11. Thanks for the info. I too have limited knowedge on plexi, but I am learning...
  12. Very cool Bill. Maybe you do deserve an award....
  13. So I have decided to remove the passenger seat and pillion. I don't do any 2 up since my wife is deathly afraid of motorcylces. I was originally going to get the rear fender rack, but wanted to avoid more chrome (I know, I know, bikes are supposed to have chrome) because I like the look of the black and I think chrome take away from it (IMHO). So after some thought and inputs from my wife, I came up with a new idea. Had a piece of 3/8 smoked plexiglass from an old stereo cabinet in my collection of stuff I never throw out. Took some measurements, did a little online research and came up with a plan. I cut the piece to size, sanded and buffed all the scratches out. Cleaned up the edges and then warmed up the piece in the oven at 270 for 30 min (did some test pieces to figure out the right time). Took the warm piece to the covered fender and molded it to fit. After it cooled, I drilled out the holes, put some spacers in. I couldn't find the right size screw for the back and Home Depot, have to try another place. Below is the end result. Total cost, $3.75 in spacers and screws. Next step is to get the "STAR" laser engraved on the back. Should look good.
  14. VERY cool. I just started working with some smoked acrylic I had laying around. I am about to post the results. How did you heat and bend your acrylic? I heated mine in the oven but ended up with some marks from the cookie rank I put it on.
  15. If you are looking at getting those, make sure you check out the prices here... http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/ Much cheaper.
  16. What part numbers? I looked and saw 2 parts; Passing lamps - STR-4XY35-10-00 - $118.95 And Passing Lamp Mount - STR-4XY35-40-00 - $150.95 Are these the parts you are talking about?
