Couldn't tell you, I only ride one up. By looking at it, it shouldn't really impact the passenger though. The bracket isn't too bulky and it comes with a wrap around pad. I will be posting some pics on my profile later today. You will be able to see it mounted and be able to make a better judgement call.

I have a truck if you need help moving them...:rotf:Sorry, couldn't resist. Thanks for all you do Don, this site ROCKS. You are the man.

Stebel Nautilus Compact Motorcycle Air Horn - Chrome
usnmustang replied to TEW47's topic in Watering Hole
I am running two of the horns. I mounted them in the same place you are talking about and it looks great. I split the wires coming off the relay that came with the horns and have been using it for a couple months without a problem. If the relay burns up from too much draw, I will replace with a larger one, but until then... -
You are going to love it!!! Money well spent. I have one on my RSTD, its like riding a barca lounger... hehehe

Weapon for ‘Mass Distraction’ (How big is your horn!)
usnmustang replied to dragerman's topic in Safety and Education
Amen to that! I have 2 of the wolo bad boys on my RSTD mounted in place of the passenger floor boards. I too have got that "holy crap, what was that noise" look from a couple of lane drifters and 'wait until the last secod before I realized I needed to turn right from the left lane' cagers. Saved my bike and more importantly my hide more than once. Nothing better than two 120db's air horns to bring a daydreamer back to reality. Of course, I probably should appologize to the woman who was putting her mascara on in the mirror when the light changed and ended up with a long black mark on her cheek after she jumped when I hit the horn to wake her up. -
Harley muffler question
usnmustang replied to BigBoyinMS's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Agreed, the cat, if there is one, is right inside the input. Big honeycomb section about 2 inches deep. The set I bought had one (wierd) with a cat in it. I just drilled it out. -
After the first couple of time I filled the RSTD up, I saw this device and read the reviews. Instead of buying it, I made my own out of some old 2" inside diameter PVC pipe that I had laying around. I cut it at 2 1/4" and it fits right over the fill hole. Works like a champ. No spillage, no fumes, and fills the tank to just below the bottom of the fill neck. I don't have to mess with the hose and it always clicks off at the right spot. I thought it was pretty smart. So I'm not sure what catagory I would fall in then. Smart or PT Barnum fodder. I figure if; I made it myself, I am not spilling gas all over the tank, not scrambling to keep it from hitting the hot engine, filling up easier, and not getting fumes, then that's not dumb.

RSTD windshield
usnmustang replied to keithert's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I can tell you that the 07 works great and I think it should be the same one. It comes with lowers already attached. I didn't realize how good it really is until I rode my buddy's stratoliner and his windshield was useless in comparison. Wind came right around, buffeting, etc. I was glad to get back on my RSTD.- 10 replies

Driver painting nails kills biker at stoplight.
usnmustang replied to FutureVentures's topic in Watering Hole
Exactly what part of this was an ACCIDENT?! In some places, if a victom is hit by a drunk driver, they are not calling it an accident, it's manslaughter, murder, unlawful death... not an accident. The driver knew she was doing something she shouldn't have and the biker is paying the ultimate price for it. I see the same thing on the road as the other's. I especially like the "I have to do my mascara in the rear view mirror" at 30 mph move. I have gotten the finger too after the 2 steble air horns wake them from thier spa day. Keep your head on a swivle and PLEASE ride safe out there. -
MC Stand/Wheel Chock
usnmustang replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have the second one, the 97841-1VGA. It sits in my garage and I use it daily when I come home. VERY handy to just roll into it and get off the scoot. Holds the bike very stable and makes working on it much easier than the side stand. Still have the stock tire and the width barely fits in the chock. Pretty handy when I have my friends over for maintenance, the adjustability makes it useful for all kinds of bikes. I would recommend it. Keep your eye out, sometimes HF puts it on sale.- 13 replies

When I got my '07 midnight RSTD, I wasn't sure about the color, but have since fallen in love with it. I now make sure everything is black and avoid chrome. I want what little chrome is on the bike to stand out and the black to be more 'ominous' looking. I even went as far as painting all the engine bolts and hose clamps flat black... very cool IMHO.

The stuff is called brake disc quiet. A small amount usually accompanies a new set of pads, but you can buy it at any auto parts place. Comes in a 4 oz tube, orange in color. Directions may vary, but basically you put a layer on, let dry 10 min, then install pad.

A little late, but here's some pics of my "new" scoot!!!

Good lookin' ride!!! What is that on your intakes? Different than I have seen before. I have seen some smaller ones but not those. Just looks or functional? -

Looking for electronics recommendations
usnmustang replied to nonextant's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
For the helmet, I have a recommendation. I used a set of speakers from an old head set I had lying around. It was a KOSS head hugger that no one had used in a while. I removed the speakers from the head frame, used some double sided tape to put them in the helmet and tucked the wires into the gaps of the padding. Works like a charm and it didn't cost a dime. I have a SOEI RF 1000 and there was plenty of room in the ear space. Not sure how much yours has. -

roadking mufflers on my venture
usnmustang replied to krotchrocketgrampa's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I ended up with a catalyst type and just drilled through it along with the baffles. It was kind of a a pain to do, but worth it IMO. The sound is great. -
Passwords??? You mean I am supposed to remember the 'cute' idea I came up with two months ago??? Heck, I forgot to pull the choke out after work today and couldn't figure out why the scoot wouldn't start. I need to keep to the simple stuff... Get up in the morning... Coffee... fill tank when the gauge flashes... beer... go to bed... repeat...

I like 'em. More light is always better IMHO. Especially on the RSTD since we don't have the trunk to mount too. From what you had, I think down looks better, but up might be more visible. Any way they could mount to the top of the license plate holder on the top screws? Put it higher and more visible to the cage. Just a thought. Great mod no matter how you end up with it. Way to think outside the box.

removed cassette, added gauges......done
usnmustang replied to jlh3rd's topic in Computer, Lights, Horns, Other Electrical
Very smooth looking mod, great job! Way to go on making good use from unused space. Wish I could come up with somthing that clean looking for the RSTD.
