  1. I'm looking for a good chock to hold my 2008 RSV upright for oil checks/changes and well as for trailering. Has anyone any experience with a Venom wheel chock with their RSV? I found 2 models on Amazon: Venom Wheel Chock (all black) New Venom Wheel Chock (black and golden) The specs for both say that they fit wheels 17" to 21". My RSV has a 150/80-16 Dunlop Elite 3 front tire. Will either of these chocks fit my tire? Thanks.
  2. Okay, I bought the Aluma MC10 to haul the Wing to distant lands. I now need the best wheel chock to put on it and protect my bike. Which one is the best? I saw a posting or ad some time ago that discussed a chock that locks the wheel securely so you just have to use straps to keep the bike from moving sideways...can't seem to find it again...not even sure if it is the best anyway. Appreciate any help you can provide.

  4. Out of the two MC Stand/Wheel Chocks that Harbor Freight sells, which one is the better for the 2nd Gen. RSV? I would be mounting it to a wood deck trailer. Do both of these when mounted to the floor or trailer deck support the bike for free standing? Does the lower cost one (96349-2vga) have any problems with the side rail/tubing hitting the bikes break rotor? Motorcycle Wheel Chock http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/gifs/clear.gif Chock moves up automatically, securing wheel in place. Makes it easy for one person to strap down motorcycle Mounts securely to truck, trailer, or floor Quick and easy Fits most motorcycles 13-5/16" high; Rugged 7 gauge base plate; All hardware included. 5. I've been working on a one man trailer for safely loading your bike. It'll take two smaller bikes or one large touring bike. I've only got one wheel chock built right now and I really don't need a second. Check out the pix and let me know what you think. 6. First thing happy new year to all. second has anyone used the Haul-Master wheel chock from harbor freight. it is a lot cheaper than ones i have used in the past but it states it does the same job. my biggest concern is the weight of my rsv. it looks like it should work.
  7. Hello fellow Venture's; My 2000 Venture will start easly with full choke, and while running on full choke when I twist gas, it wants to stall out. I can sometimes get an idle with chock off, but again when I try and give it gas it chokes out. Any suggestions.... Thanks for all your help.
  8. Are there any symptoms associated with the head bolt torque not being proper? Just wondering since I have a 07 and this past Saturday I had a heck of a time starting the bike. I had to use full choke ( I have never had to use any chock before) to even get the bike to start and then you could not turn the chock off or the bike would die. I played with the idle screw a bunch just to get the bike to run with the chock off. This lasted for about 15 minutes then the bike seamed to return to normal. Of course I had to re-adjust the idle afterwards back to 1000 RPM. I took the bike around the block about 20 times just to check it out and it ran fine. I then took it out on the highway for a 70 mile trip and it ran fine. I have not had any more problems like this since. What the heck happened?
  9. I just took a look at the latest Harbor Freight sales flyer and noticed they have a front wheel chock on sale for $37.00 bucks. Just the ticket for my flat bed toy hauler... It's a Haul-Master brand... which might be the HF brand... and it looks pretty nice. I'm going to mosey over to HB and take a look at it face to face. If it's as nice as the pic I may just pick one up. I'm now using a couple of pieces of 2x4 screwed to the bed..... http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/gifs/clear.gif
  10. I was hoping some of you could share with me the best ways you have found to tie down your Venture. There are times I will have to put it in the back of my pickup. I have made a wheel chock that will sit in the front of the box to keep the front wheel in place. There seems to be no place to attach tie down straps that doesnt interfere with the fairing. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks JR
