  1. My 09 RSV had a cracked lower left fairing. The crack was all the way across. I went to my dealer and as usual I felt like I was a second class citizen but after all the crying the fairing was replaced. I put about another 1500 miles on the bike and it is cracked again. This time only partially across. I went to the dealer again and did the normal dance and they just called me today and said that Yamaha had approved replacement of fairing and any mounting bracketry that they feel they will need to solve the problem. My crack is adjacent to the mounting bolt (both times). Also on the lower inside of the fairing there is an area that looks like crackle paint finish. Something is leaking in there. The mechanic said that they re-routed the fuel overflow when they replaced the first fairing. What is leaking now??? Anyway that I can get the Florida reps name through a pm? I live in Ocala.
  2. The Father is not done with you!!!
  3. Not one person has suggested that you pray about this. God has the answer. If you are a believer, you'll get the comfort from Him and no matter what he gives you to do about the problem, You'll feel better that it came from God and not from Satan. Good Luck and may God Bless.
  4. Well now I know that Columbia is not the place for Venture work, I'll make sure that I let everyone that I know going that way not to stop there for anything. Wish I'd have known about these other posts before my problem cause now I still have the problem. Hopefully I'll find someone in Ocala, FL that knows the problem as well as you guys do. I'm not that comfortable working on the Venture as I have been a Harley guy for over 30 years. Thanks a million guys & God Bless!
  5. Wow . . I now know why this site helps each other with tech issues. I am on vacation (went from Ocala, FL to Lewisburg, VA) and on my way back I started to hear the rubbing/grinding/whooshing noise from rear end. I know there has been many posts hear for that but mine is an 089 and I thought it should be warranty. Stopped at the dealer in Columbia, SC and was tied up for a couple of hours. The "Master Mechanic" that was supposed to be so great rode the bike and did hear the noise. He put it on the rack and supposedly lubed everything and inspected everything and said they couldn't find anything wrong but I still have the noise and they knew it. But they said it was safe to ride. Also they charged me $109.00 for not being able to claim warranty because Yamaha wouldn't pay for a non repair. So basically I guess I paid they money to be told "we're to stupid to find the problem". Hopefully my dealer in Ocala will be a little more honorable about it. I can't remember the dealers name in Columbia but there are 2 and they are both owned by the same people. So beware in Columbia. (I know I sound bitter but $109.00 is a lot to me to be thrown in the garbage!
  6. But one for a gl1500 Wing from Honda. It's cheaper, bigger and fits great.
  7. Yeah; When it stops leaking then ya got problems!
  8. Just finished putting Harley Muffs on my 2009 RSV. Made my brackets, bought the wide clamps, spent 4 hours gently persuading the muffs on, cleaned them, put the bags back on and started the bike. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Could barely tell the difference. My wife says she can tell but wants it louder. I guess now I have to drill them out. By the way, I haven't seen anything in any of the threads on this subject that discusses the fibre exhaust gasket on the RSV that you have to distroy in order to put the Harley's on. If you use 1/4" aluminum to make your brackets, you will have to get 3/4" long bolts for the muffs as the 1/2" arent long enough. Best to get these before 10:00pm. I used Drag Specialties clamps and they cost $9.50 each and are available almost anywhere. Anyway, just my thoughts on this mod. This is the best site ever!! Thanks Freebird.
  9. Are you interested in trading your 06 Midnight seat set up for an 09 pillow top? Bigfoot
  10. OK, What about the name of the product?? Thanks
  11. I have the same problem with interference. It appears that Freebird has a fix for that but the horn blowing sounds strange to me as well. I'm with Freebird on that one also. Let the dealer have a crack at it. Lets us know what you find out.
  12. I'm not sure how old you are but you may regret putting it back to stock height. I'm 6'6" with a 34" inseam and have a hard time getting my leg over the bike. It's an 09 but I don't think there have been any changes. Maybe it's my age (55) I don't know but I'd ride it awhile with highway pegs mounted midway on the front engine guard. Makes a big difference. Now I can stretch out like a king.
  13. I'm 656 - Not sure if that is goog or bad
