  1. Don't have one on at the moment. Waiting for someone to care enough to give me one! I hear you render them ineffective if you buy one yourself. Just saying.......
  2. waiting for someone to care enough about me (HA!) to give me one. I understand that you render them ineffective if you buy one yourself and put it on. I don't want it on there just for the bling!
  3. Now I'm not trying to take this down the "political highway", but I think we better be careful what the media tells us at times. There's no denying the fact that on a head on (with another vehicle) that car popped up into the air like it had a spring board under it. All four tires came off the ground. The media is all into "green" right now & I believe they'll tell us anything they think will sway us to turn "green" too. IMHO
  4. Buyer beware. I think they are secretly trying to get rid of half the population. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8F0PFi24VI]YouTube - Smart Car Crash Test[/ame]
  5. I picked up a TomTom Rider 2 and really like it alot. I also bought the car windshield mount and moving it back and forth is super easy. Just detach from the MC and put in the Car.
  6. How about "AWESOME AUSSIE ANNIE"
  7. Mine makes a sound similar to what your describing and I've pretty much attributed it to wind buffeting over the lower cowlings. The only time I hear it is at certain speeds. Hard to say if it's the same sound. Hope this helps.
  8. Dave, I went and bought a cheap 18" phillips head screw driver just for synching. You only need it for one screw, but it sure does make it easier.
  9. I'll give that a try. Before Naked Rider and I rode up to St. Charles I had changed my plugs and my mileage jumped to 42 mpg. Just recently it has dropped back down to 38 & I was wondering if the cracks could be the cause. Maybe I need to check the coils as I've heard that one of them is bad about going out.
  10. I use it alot but have to set it at about 16 or 17. At 17 it works fine, but I will get feedback (ear piercing) if I turn the bars all the way to the left. I guess the control unit comes too close to other electrical stuff under the tank. If there is alot of wind noise I'll turn it up, then turn it back down if I pull in some where where I may have to make a tight turn. Kind of a pain, but I just put up with it.
  11. Just prior to leaving for Knoxville last w/e I noticed that a couple of my carb boots are cracked. I read in a similar post that they have a metal sleeve inside of them. Is this correct? If that is the case, do I not need to worry about the cracks or do I need to replace them? If so, where's the best place to get them other than the dealership? I don't relish the thought of tackling this one. It doesn't look fun. Any help, ideas, recommendations would be appreciated.
  12. Freezy, I typically have to have my IC setting at 16 with a 3/4 helmet. I use the chatter box headsets. What I have found is that when using the h/s I have to adjust the tenor setting to -3 and increase the bass setting to +3 to improve the sound. Then if I go to the speakers I have to reverse both settings. If using my IPod I turn the IPod volume all the way up and then use the volume control to adjust to the proper level. I get the best sound from the IPod. The h/s always sound tinny to me.
  13. Be down there next month. Northwest of Orlando. Gonna visit the inlaws at the Villages.
  14. After pressing the cb button to turn it on, press it again to get to the squelch. Then use the toggle to adjust up or down.
  15. Now that's the female logic I've come to know in my young and precarious 50 years of life!!!
  16. When I first got my trailer, I went with a 5x10 tilt bed thinking it would work great. Bad idea. I dropped my bike the first time I tried to load it because the bed didn't tilt down. There I was with 900# of motorcycle sticking straight up in the air. Tried backing it down as slowly as possible and lost it. Took the trailer back and got one with the lift gate. Much easier to load. BOOMER........put me a cool saying at the end of this would ya!!
  17. I thought that the pumps on these bikes work intermittantly when they are working normally. Maybe just some misinformation I picked up somewhere. Is it possible that the filter being somewhat clogged could be causing the pump to run on a constant basis rather than intermittantly. Just a thought & those can be dangerous when coming from my pea brain!
  18. I've been married for 29 years too, cummulatively!!!!
  19. If you get the chance, ride through Maggie Valley. Nice ride thru there.
  20. I've got the butler cup/holder also & wouldn't get rid of it for anything. Easy to use while riding and holds alot of liquid, doesn't hit the tank and keeps drink cold for a long time.
  21. could of sworn I saw him on 55N this morning around 7:30 (south of cape girardeau)
