  1. I ve done that more than once with the wifes shadow. May be a problem but doubt it was from the attempt to find another gear when you are already in the top gear. David
  2. Ive ridden one pgr ride. We escorted a marineto his finall resting place. I was put of by a group( not sure if it was the same) and retaliated. I was also imediately stopped by the ride capt. He told me to stand the line and handled them hiself. His calmness I admire as it was only in me to find a new whole in the ground for these idiots who not only decided to prtest this young man but succeded in getting the best of me. I apologised to the family for my reaction and was then thanked by the father. He told me that if he had his way the ride capy would have stayed out of my way. Now I just stand the flag line when I can. Until I get my temper under control its the least i can do. david
  3. Just by looking in your profile I'd say it was crickett the got you mad. I cant say anything about them never been on their plan. Im still a fan of verizon but for my area boost mobile is still the winner as far as price and services you get for the price. David
  4. Look again.......My wife AKA Shadow Queen pointed out that that is a dress. David
  5. If you like handleing then the shinko tourmaster 230 would be a good consideration. It sticks like glue but a lot of peaple arent getting good mileage on them. Ive got 6000 on my rear shinko and its only got 3 or 4 thousand left on the tread but it holds well in all situiations. I know its not the tire you asked about but and idea. and they are cheap. I got the front and back deliverd to my house for $128.00 David
  6. not hairy enough for beer30................just ask studmuffin I mean riderduke about his hairyhim. David
  7. weve got verizon.......been with them since forever, but then again it was alltel when I started and they bought out them. As for the vz navigator...........it works really well. Until you go into an area where there is n ot a verizon tower. Then you are screwed. the navigator works off of the towers and not off of gps. Found this out going through west VA on the way to mantenece day. When my contract is over I may go with boost mobile. $50 and it totally unlimited. Free calls incoming and outgoing, free inernet and free two way. check into it.we use nextel and I use them at work. I have talked to peaple in california and Im in nc and they sounded like they were next door. Also talked to my boss when he was in southern mexico with no problems.Just an idea. David
  8. lets just hope he lost a bet and is making good on it................. David
  9. I happen to agree with goose. When I first started pulling my trailer i had the tires inflated to the max 60 psi with no adverse wear on the tread. Ive pulled it about 6000 miles since I got it and the tires still lok good. I eneded up on the advice of the group and a few other following me dropping the air preasure down to 15 psi. Its still wag its rearend around but took out the hop that was comming from the air pressure. Ended up checking the axle . It was too short and slightly ascue from square. With 4 ft added to the axle and a adjustment to square it rides behind me straight as an arrow. Hope this helps. Check the axle if its square then check and see if the wheels are bent in or out slightly. Kinda sounds like misaligned hubs to me . Ive seen it on a few ocasions. Like maybey they are turned in or out a bit. No way those tires should be going out that quick. And just to make sure i just went out and checked my trailer tires. 15 psi and still looks new David
  10. hey text2, Mayney not exactly what you were talking about, but you can go and visist the users profile. Then look under statistics, then click on all users post. I know it works cause I just tried it on myuself and found all of my post to a set time. not exactly what you was talking about but in a backhanded way it gets you there. David
  11. not sure if its what you want but buddy rich makes a cable that hooks to you gps so oyu can use your intercom system to answer phone calls and listen to your gps. That is assuming you gps will hook up through blue tooth with your phone. hope this helps David
  12. Ok now I dont know how you can rebuild or check it yourself. Really wish you was closer then we could take mine out and see if it was yours being faulty. Now as for being rebuilt there is a guy advertising that he is parting out a 90 and 91 vr in the classified section. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2598&title=-2a-2a-2a-parting-a-9026amp-3b-91-vr2a-2a-2a&cat=6 Check out that add and call him. Not sure how good his work is but he will rebuild yours or send you a newly rebuilt one with a core charge to be refunded when you send him a rebuildable core. I do know as of the last few weeksit was 175 to rebuild one with a ten dollar fee to ship it back to you if you ship him yours and he rebuilds it then sends the same one back. He said if for any reason you fry the rebuilt one they will send you a new one one time. Give him a call , who knows. I was going to send him mine but I found one misslabeled on ebay and got it payed for and shipped for $32.33. New at yamaha is $999.99 as Ive already checked. Ill check and see if I can send you the spare i have now. Its not mine and I'll have to ask the actuall owner. He is in the big sand box for now but will be home shortly. that will have to be his decision. Either wat good luck david
  13. If this was 2up machime it would be perfect for Aussie Annie and quickstep to rent on their trip across the ocean. David
  14. beings as this is almost in my back yard Ive been there a time or 2 dozen. LEt us know and ifn I can make the time Ill be there. David
  15. that fuel mileage is a little low in my opinion. Now I know we are comparing different beast to each other, but my 91 just got 34-38 mpg on the way to and from mantenence day and back. That is with the trailer loaded and the bike full too. One up both ways. David
  16. wish I had the money boss.........just got to wait a while I guess. DAvid
  17. man that thing is purty.... nice ride David
  18. I work outside for a living, so heat is not even considerd. Do it or set at home without a job. BUt for the most aprt I find if I am slowing down and running out of energy I load up on water and gatoraid. David
  19. Hello Steve. Havent heard from you in here in a while. What happened that you cant get your leg over the bike? Hope all is well. David
  20. congrats.......thats a purdy bike. If I had the income to purchase on I would maybey be convinced..............But then again Im wanting a new wing. David
  21. not sure if what you found fixed the problem, but as someone mentioned the air intake system I was wandering about the air outlety system. I had a Dodge van that idled, ran and reveed fine with no load. With load couldnt do over 45. Turned out to be the cataletic(spelling) converter. Now I dont think a venture has one of those but maybey just maybey a stopped up exhaust. David
  22. here you go....Both front and rear new for 51 bucks plus shipping. http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=JM%2DYV%2D41 David
  23. If you werent so far away i'd drive over and show you how to handle that problem redneck style. First load pistol and then close garage door. Second call the neighbors and tell them to ignore the bigbang theory and the rest is not needed to be explained. David
  24. Im not for real sure, but I think you have a hitch for a MKII and yours looks to me to be a mkI. I dont thinkg the hitches are the same. The picks in the thread show the hitch being mounted on a mkII like my 91. hope Im wrong David
  25. was just thinking as someone mentioned brake fluid as a possible culprit of the flaking paint. Isnt the rear brake near that side if the saddle bag? If so maybey you might want to check and make sure you didnt have a small brake line or fitting leak that may have sprayed on the bag. Not sure but just a suggestion. David
