I used to do that but just haven't in a while. I actually hung a small come a long from the ceiling to lift the trailer.

Yea, my son and wife both have that one and really like it. Don't know what I'll get next time. My time is about up if I want to trade. Using an LG Venus now and it's been..still is...fine.

and...just WHAT is wrong with having only one eye? You just CAN'T stay out of trouble can you. Yep, that's exactly what happened. You are good now though. Yes, by all means please do so. Most of us put our bike year and model in the user title spot.

You were only 5 names away. I just did 25 more before leaving to work so you are good now. Folks, I am through tg in the alphabet. That's about half way through the Ts. If your username is A-S...then you should be marked "supporting member". If that is the case, send me a PM so that I can go back and check.

OK folks, I'm finally getting close to having all the supporting members moved to the supporting members group. I think I like about 150 more and should be able to finish it tomorrow night. Once that is done, I will post that everybody should show supporting member in their UserCP and/or below there name beside any of their posts. I will announce when I am done and then folks a couple of days to let me know if I missed anybody. After that, I will start making changes to the registered users permissions. Remember, you will need to be a supporting member if you want to continue posting in the forum. There will also be some, maybe all, areas of the forum that you must be a supporting member to read. If you have been procrastinating as to whether or not to join, I hope you do so. $12.00 per year...I think that is affordable to most anybody.

Folks, it is my pleasure to announce that Diamond R Accessories will be attending and setting up a booth at the VentureRider Rally in Marble Falls. Allen and Patty have been generous supporters of VentureRider.org since I started the club and it will be a real pleasure to have them at our rally. They will be bringing a nice selection of accessories for our bikes so if there is anything you have been thinking about adding, it will be a great time to do so.

I know that Bushtec sells one. Not sure what it costs but it's not cheap. I think around $60.00 or so.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers today. It's all OK from this point on. You'll feel better and when you are fully recovered, that new bike will be repaired and ready to go. Brighter days await you my friend.

Great job on the bike and I'm glad that others agreed. As for the models, I can look but I can't touch. My wife won't even let me date....she is VERY narrow minded about that.

Monty, Tell him to keep his chin up. Things may look bleak right now but it doesn't have to stay that way. Many of us have been through divorces and it's a tough time but he will get through it. I'm really glad to hear that he is OK. Could have been much worse and though the bike may be trashed, at least he isn't. That is a HUGE thing.

Got the server timed out issue resolved. One of my account required SSL to be checked. It works fine now. The only other little thing is the general layout. I wish I could get rid of the folder list at the upper right and just have a drop down menu for the folders as in Outlook Express. That's a small issue though. I'll get used to it.

Well, I'm trying Thunderbird now also. It seems to work just fine but I honestly think I like Outlook Express better. I like the layout better in Outlook Express and it also seems to connect and start downloading faster. I have about 5 accounts that I check at one time and with Thunderbird, one of them gives me a server timed out message unless I keep it set at about 60 seconds before timeout. Outlook Express connects and downloads to that account almost immediately. Still playing with it and maybe will get used to it.

Rear speaker replacement?

If they are blown, you are probably getting some buzzing so new speakers would be a big improvement. I honestly believe though that when going down the road, most of the sound you hear is from the front speakers. The Polks are about as good as any in my opinion. I'm not real happy with any that I've tried. They simple need to be BIGGER but there is no room for bigger ones. -
If you go to your UserCP, you can select your favorite smilies and they will be the ones that always show in the smiley box.

Hopefully somebody else will chime in here because I've never done it. I've seen several reports though from people who said they had to pull the mufflers off the bike and use a wooden dowel rod or something through the inlet end and a hammer to pound them off. Like I said, hopefully somebody else will chime in and help. By the way, I'm moving this thread to the second gen tech talk area where it will likely get seen better. -

I guess I need to clarify this a bit. I am not going through and updating all the profiles JUST so that the supporting member tag will show up. That is just a tag that was added to the "ranking" in the new group that was created. I HAVE to go through them all to actually move everybody to the new group. I have to get everybody moved before I can change the posting permissions. The supporting member tag is added automatically after a person is moved to the new group. It is also now setup so that those who subscribe to the site using the link in their UserCP are automatically moved to the "Supporting Members" group but most had subscribed before I realized that I didn't have that set up correctly to automatically happen so most of this work I created for myself. It's OK though. I'm getting close now. A couple of more nights dedicated to the moves and I will be done. It may be Monday night though before I get back on it full steam.

The reason that some of you show two is that you have not edited your title in your UserCP. Most of us put the year and model of our bike in the Custom Title. You do that in your UserCP. That is recommended because then when you post a question or ask for help, it is obvious what bike you are asking about. If you don't do that, then the default title is the usergroup that you belong to so that shows up as well as the new custom tag that I'm installing for each supporting member.

I pretty much agree with you. I had them on my bike for a while and found them to be very close in loudness to the stock mufflers. As for the gaskets though, I didn't destroy mine when I did it. You actually don't use them with the Harley Mufflers. One of mine stayed in the stock muffler and the other stayed on the pipe but I was able to slip it off and re-use it when I went to stock RSTD mufflers on my bike. As for loud. I had Samons for a while and they were VERY loud. I also used Khromewerks for a while and they were a bit quieter than the Samons at first but got about as loud after the packing burned out. I never did get around to re-packing them but just got tired of loud and went back to stock.

OK folks, I know that many of you are sold on these car tires on your bikes but it is NOT for me. I had an opportunity during Maintenance Day to take Stardbogs Stratoliner on a ride. earlier that day he and Kent and mounted a new car tire on the rear. Now this is NOT an RSV. The rear tire is much larger but I have to tell you, I did NOT like the way the bike handled with the car tire on the rear. It wasn't as back when you got up to speed but at lower speeds and slow speed turns, it definately took more effort to make the turns and get it up on the edge. Later in the day we went on a little group ride. I just happened to be right behind Stardbog and was watching it as we went through the curves. I've seen a number of posts that state that the tire stays flat on the road through the curves as the sidewall will flex and the tread will remain on the road. That may be true in some cases but I can attest with 100% certainty that it was NOT true on his bike. I watched it come up on the edge of the tread through every single curve. NEVER stayed flat on the road. I'm not posting this in an attempt to change anybodies mind about the tire they are running. If you are happy with it and think it is safe than that is your business. I'm simply saying that it is certainly not for everybody.
