  1. Yes, you keep believing that. I'm sure that NOTHING is going to happen to you. Stay out of the way. I would hate to see innocent people caught in the crossfire. IF there ARE any innocent people here. I'll BET you are right.
  2. I've repacked the front bearings a couple of times. If you were not having a problem with the bearing and just repacking it, do it in place. I usually drop the front far enough to get to it and repack it in place. Works fine and never had a problem.
  3. You can't miss them. Have a look at this thread and you'll find a picture of them. They are on the left side if you face the bike from the front. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=992
  4. That's OK folks...it was quiet a shock and VERY cold but the hard part is over with....all that remains now is the fun part .... GETTING EVEN!
  5. Yes, it's in the fairing. If you split the fairing, you will see 5 large connectors. One of them is the one you are looking for.
  6. You showed it twice because you had not entered your custom user title that most of us put our bikes year/models in. I did it for you for now.
  7. OK folks...I got about 200 more done tonight. Will try to do some more tomorrow night. Thanks for your patience.
  8. HA...I fixed THAT. Only when I'm awake.
  9. It is likely the percentage of Moly. It should tell on the tubes.
  10. Well heck...I hate to keep hearing about our family here getting in harms way. Glad you are OK and very sorry to hear about the bike.
  11. I actually had one shot of that stuff. I'm pretty sure it cured what ailed me.
  12. Patience young grasshoppers....all good things come with time.
  13. Dave, Thanks for pointing out this problem. There is a maximum number of pictures that you can upload to the albums. That number is 100. When I created the new supporting members group, it defaulted to 20 and I missed that. I just reset it to 100 so you should be able to upload to that maximum now.
  14. That is correct, you cannot add pictures to a PM. Sorry. Tried to add that feature once but it was VERY server intensive.
  15. The RSV is a bit different that the first gen maybe, I don't remember. The RSV is based upon speed and distance. Above a certain speed, it will turn off after a set amount of time. When you are below a certain speed, they will stay on. That is why it stays on when you turn it back on while stopped. The speeds and times are specified in the manual but I don't have it in front of me right now.
  16. Seats are a very personal thing, what works for one doesn't always work for another but I HATED the Roadsofa. Not only was it very uncomfortable for me but the fit was terrible with about a 3/4" gap between the front of the seat and the tank.
  17. You will not get a consensus on the oil or the filter. I use the Racing 4T and have been doing so since 1999 in my '99 RSV. I'm very pleased with it. I've used a number of filters and the last few have been the Walmart filter. I like most any of them except the Fram.
  18. OK folks, when I finally got around to checking my email yesterday afternoon, I had 997 emails waiting. Then when I started trying to check them, I had a problem with Outlook Express "Not Responding" and fought with it until 2:00 this morning and finally went to bed. I then had to get on the road because I have meetings in Grand Rapids, MI this week. I'm now at the hotel in Michigan. I ended up having to delete all my mail folders to get things working again. I tried to save all the ones that were specific emails to me but may have missed a few. Anyway, I'm all caught up now but if you sent me an email or posted something specifically to my attention, please let me know if you did not get a response because I likely didn't see it. Sorry about the problem. Now hopefully tonight I can get back to updating the profiles of all you who have sent in your dues. I really need to get that job finished and then start make the access changes to the forum.
  19. Folks, I'm sorry but I just don't have the energy right now to go through all the post about Maintenance Day. Will try to do it tomorrow night when I get to my hotel. I do want to thank all who attended though. It was our true pleasure to host this even again this year and we had a fantastic time. Not sure if anybody got a count or not. I heard numbers as high at 130 bikes and probably close to 200 people at one time or another. I just know that how EVER many it was...they used a LOT of toilet paper. The only folks left here now are GaryN and Mary and they will be pulling out tomorrow morning. What a great bunch this is. I'm truly humbled by the kindness and genuine goodness of our members here. For those of you who have never made this event or one of our many others, you have no idea what you are missing. Good Night all.
  20. You DID let him IN????? WOW...you are a good man Bill.
  21. I'm honestly never seen that one but it looks like a good setup. I wish I could recommend it or not but haven't seen any reports of it here.
  22. LOL....now that is fantastic...that guy is a LOT smarter than most of us that were here.
  23. Really sorry to hear this news. I always worry until everybody gets home after any of our events. Sounds like you handled the situation well and I'm happy to hear that you are both safe.
  24. You will get different opinions but I use one can per full tank of gas about twice a year.
  25. I think I have to fronts around here but no rears. Sorry.
