  1. I am receiving as many as five e-mails for working at home in one day and all are the same except the http// addresses are different. All these sound like the noted sender is making a personal recommendation. I contacted the person that is noted and they are saying they did not send it and they are also getting the same thing. I clicked on one of the http// addresses and read the offer to try to stop this and there does not appear to be any way. I am also concerned that everyone in my address book is or will be getting the same crap. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can stop this? RandyA
  2. The following is an e-mail I sent out to several friends and family about sending and forwarding e-mails. If anyone wants to copy this and also send it to anyone, go for it. I hope it makes sense. RandyA My e-mail New Years Resolution This one is a little different and it is one I am also going to ask that you also do. You may notice that it looks like I just sent this to you only, when actually, I sent it to over ten people. The reason it looks this way is I put everyone's e-mail name/address in the BCC box rather than in the TO or CC box. I have been trying to do this for awhile, but a current post on my motorcycle web site about virus problems being associated with e-mails being passed around suggested the very same thing to keep them to a minimum. First of all, I want to say that I really do enjoy the e-mails that many of you send me. Some are inspirational, some are informative, some are really funny and some are downright naughty. I love them, but I have to say that when I open an e-mail and there is a history of many, many names and e-mail address being shown as to where it had been sent, it always concerns me. I know that my e-mail address is also being forwarded as part of the history. This is also how many of our e-mail addresses end up being part of a phishing expedition and how spam gets forwarded and how some of you got an e-mail that looked like it was sent from me recently trying to get you to buy Viagra. This is real simple and only takes a minute. When you forward an e-mail, highlight all those addresses and occasional comments and simply delete them. And, it also makes it look like I took the extra effort to send an e-mail to just YOU and you alone and don't that make you feel special? Thanks everyone and I hope you all are going to have as great of a New Year as I am planning on having!!
  3. Ok.... Leadwolf56 is sending me the remaining Rally shirts for me to distribute as he is swamped. What I need from the folks that ordered shirts is to make sure that I know you haven't recieved your shirts, and for you to pay Black Owl for the ones you have ordered. Use this thread to let me know who needs their shirts and PM me with your addresses so I can ship them out. I know some of you have already paid for them, I'll get with Russ and see if we can decifer all the gory details. Thanks for your paitence and we'll get you folks your shirts
  4. is it possible to havbe multiply e-mail adresses? If I subscribe to a thread at work I would also like to hget that e-mail notification at home or vice versa. I was wondering if I put 2 e-mail adresses seperated by a semi colon if that would allow the notifications to be sent to both addresses or is there another option Thanks Jeff
  5. After finding out the police are useless, (sorry,Tim) I looked on line and figured out each place the little perp went. Got addresses and phone numbers of the businesses and called each of them. (all 6). I was polite, at first. Then I asked them there policy on I.D. check for a credit card. I was as polite as I could be as I told them about their upcoming loss on Visa. Wal-Mart Corporate is taking my suggestion further. I should be hearing from them. At least, I was made to feel like a customer with a valid problem. Don't get me started on the police depts, locally and in Asheville, Buncombe and Grantham counties. Asheville receptionist wanted to know the addresses of the crime. I said I wasn't following the thief at the time.
  6. Folks, I sent out a mailing tonight regarding the International Rally and got probably 200 bounced emails. Please check your email addresses to verify that you have them updated with your latest ones. Also, MANY of you have added spam solutions that require the sender to click on a link, go to a website and confirm who they are. I don't blame you for doing that but I just don't have time to go to all those sites and confirm it. All of those programs have "whitelists" so that you can add people that you know to them. If you wish to receive email from this site regarding private messages you receive, replies to your posts, etc., you need to add venturerider.org to your white list. Otherwise, you will not be getting any emails. I'm going to install a custom script that will automatically move members with invalid email addresses to a different usergroup. You will not be able to post until you correct the problem. Thanks for your help.
  7. I mailed most of your patches this morning. If you paid via PayPal, if I had received your check, or if you have even told me that you are sending payment via mail and provided me your address then your patches are on the way. Three exceptions. The PayPal notifications did not include address for: Robert Russell David Warren Steve Risher If you guys will PM me your addresses, I can still get them out today or tomorrow. Thanks, Don
