  1. hmmm....a little glitch huh? It should be corrected now.
  2. No, and I won't until I sell the 550. I'm actually still on vacation through this next week. If nobody here buys it before I get home then I'll probably list it on Ebay next week.
  3. No, there is not at this time. When I get home from vacation though, I'll see what I can come up with.
  4. I STILL say that it's the small bushing on the right side of the hub that is probably in backwards. I put mine in wrong once and got that exact same result. The turned down side of the bushing must go in...against the bearing. Otherwise it will let the wheel run out just enough to rub.
  5. If it sounds like a tire just slightly rubbing something, you probably have the bushing backwards. There is a bushing on the right side that presses into the hub. I say "presses" but it's not a tight fit. You can remove it and put it back with your fingers. It is turned down on one side and flat on the other. If it is in backwards, it will allow the wheel to run to the right just barely enough that the tire will lightly rub. Not even enough to really mark the tire but will make a noise.
  6. I'm sure that Kent will answer this but I've always understood that the thermostat serves two purposes. In automobiles, it enables the water to reach a high enough temperature for the heater to do its job. Even more importantly though, in automobiles and on motorcycles, the engines are designed to run more efficiently within a certain temperature range. The thermostat keeps the engines within that range.
  7. Glad that they are covering the shock but if the bike is still actually under warranty, labor should be covered also.
  8. Well, I've decided that I'm probably going to upgrade to the Zumo 665. I've put my 550 with XM receiver in the classifieds if anybody is interested. If so, please note that I will not be able to ship it until I get home on weekend of the 16th. If it hasn't sold by then, I'll probably put it on Ebay.
  9. I think that most everything in the store is available unless there is an "out of stock" note or something. Not sure about the large patches, you would have to contact Eddie about that.
  10. Try again. It should take 6. Do not use a space.
  11. I'm glad you posted this. I was afraid that you thought it was GOOD. Didn't want to hurt your feelings. We will still drink it in your honor though.
  12. Fair enough, we'll never do it. Don't give it another thought sweetcheeks.
  13. Well here's my opinion....not that anybody asked for it. I don't know how often you folks are using Seafoam but I don't think it needs to be used that often. I use it twice a year. Once in the winter when I know that the weather is going to ground me for a couple of months. I go to the gas station, add a can of Seafoam and fill the tank. That's all I do to winterize the bike except for putting it on the trickle charger. In the spring, I run out that tank of gas and then a couple of tanks later, I run another can through it. So, two cans a year is all I use. Now I realize that Seafoam is a bit pricey but using two cans a year, I'm not going to waste my time trying to figure out a cheaper formula.
  14. No problem Tom. You aren't the first and won't be the last. There are a few here who are very aware of the rule and will still try to push it.
  15. I deleted it as soon as I saw it. As stated already, the rules clearly state that no political threads are allowed. I'm sorry if you missed that point and will be more than happy to refund your dues if you can't live with it.
  16. Well, the good news is that Eileen, Dylan and I are on our way to Texas. We had planned to leave tomorrow but got away late today. Only drove about 5 1/2 hours or so but made it just south of Louisville, KY today and stopped early. The bad news is that I got an email from my company today. I need to enjoy this vacation because they just told me that they are increasing my territory. I used to have Ohio, Western PA and Western NY. They then replaced Western PA and Western NY and gave me Indiana and Michigan. Now they are telling me that I am keeping Ohio, Indiana and Michigan but they are adding back Western PA and Western NY and also giving me all of Kentucky and all of West Virginia. So there are some busy times when I get back from vacation. Oh well...I DO still have a job.
  17. I looked through all the RSVPs but there was no Shirley listed. Most just stated + 1 guest though. Some put the name but not many. Sorry.
  18. The GOOD news is that today I stopped by Best Buy and picked up a "pay as you go" type mobile broadband modem. So....I know that there will be a few days over the next few weeks when I will not have WIFI service but now I'm READY for it. So....I can still check in here at least once or twice a day. P.S. I didn't find much trash in the yard but did find two VERY NICE Limes.
  19. I just don't know then. Mine are louder on the same volume setting than any others I have used. I know this sounds dumb but are you SURE you didn't have them turned around backwards. I actually DID have one of mine backwards for a while.
  20. Yes, I'm in the other camp. In my opinion, the Elite's don't hold a candle to the Edsets. Sleeperhawk, I suspect that you had yours too far from your ears. If you had them in the same recesses that the thicker J&Ms were in, they were way to far away. They are so thin that I actually have mine secured to the outside of the liner right next to my ears.
  21. Margaret is correct. There is an inactivity setting. I've set it to different values and don't remember what it is set on now. Folks were complaining that it was logging them out too fast if they were reading messages and got distracted and had to go do something else and then come back to find themselves logged out.
  22. Yes, they are Torx. My '99 has allen head screws but I some point, they went to the Torx screws. I ran into them when removing some rotors at maintenance day.
  23. This is WAY too confusing. Bob Dakin is also a member here. He lives in Lorain, OH and many of you have met him at my maintenance days. You may have met his wife also, Becky Dakin.
  24. Very doubtful but wouldn't take long to find out.
  25. Well Gary, I will stay with the same opinion that I have always stated here. Whine: Inherent noise associated with the straight cut gears. Howl: Possible rear end problem. Chirp: Clutch basket.
