Yes it is. We were actually there at the same time, from Monday to Wednesday.

Really nice car and white is our favorite. Eileen and I saw several Camaros on the road during our vacation and she loves them. For me, it would still be a tough decision between it and the Challenger but either would do just fine.

Yea...if I find them...I'll have to use a stick to pick them up and throw them in the trash.

I would LOVE to take the 6 weeks but dang if I would go anywhere. I would just ham out here and rest for a while... well...except for maybe the rally at the Hub...and maybe Ashville....and..... heck...never mind.

Eileen and I made it home Friday evening from a whirlwind visit to Texas. We spent time with family in Tyler, Longview, Mt. Pleasant, Grand Prairie, Arlington and Granbury. Not near enough time in any one place and spent way too much time driving and not enough time with people that we were way overdue visiting. Now, it had been almost 10 years since I was last home to Texas. During this trip, I met 4 grand kids that I had never met, I met two daughter in laws that I had never met, I met 5 nieces and nephews that I had never met. It was a bit strange, a bit sad, a bit joyous and a bit hectic but overall, was a good trip. I'm sincerely sorry that I was unable to attend the International Rally. From all reports, Leadwolf and team did a fantastic job with it. This is the first one that I've missed and I hated doing so but I only have a limited amount of vacation and visiting family was way overdue. I can't wait so long before going home again. I spent yesterday working on the lawn tractor and managed to put a big gash in my hand and arm first thing yesterday morning but that is fairly typical of what happens when I work on something. Got the tractor repaired though so at least it was a success. Still have luggage in the car that I have to get out today and help Eileen get everything unpacked. Then I have to get my work car organized and hit the road again tomorrow. I feel like I need a vacation to get over my vacation but don't have any remaining time right now. I thank all of you for your understanding and sorry if I've neglected anything here during my time away.

No major differences at all. The only thing you might want to check on the '99 is that the trunk bottom is not cracked. Yamaha came out with a kit to prevent them from cracking but many folks never knew about it. There should be a rubber spacer at the bottom rear of the trunk and large washers on the inside under the rubber mat. The only other problem with the '99 models were the antennas. They were crap and Yamaha changed them in 2000 with a folding type. Otherwise, they are exactly the same other than the colors and maybe the seats.

I used to have one on my '99 but replaced it with a Bushtec hitch. I probably don't remember everything about it but if you have a specific question, I'll give it a shot.

I will take a look at this next week. It's just that there is a substantial amount of custom programming involved to add a country. I'm not sure that we have any other countries with enough members to justify all the work. You can always use the advanced search feature to select from a complete list of countries.

I would be concerned about that mechanic. The cables are still available. There are many online dealers that list them and you could also check with Rick at http://www.buckeyeperformance.com

I think the Commander is a great tire. I ran one for more than 13,000 miles and am sure that it would have run at LEAST a couple thousand more. I changed it because I was leaving for an extended trip and didn't want to worry about it. I was very happy with the way it performed.

I was working on the welcome thread before I went on vacation. I was trying to add a link to the new members profile but it didn't work and I ran out of time. I THOUGHT I had put everything back to normal but apparently did not. The userid of the person doing the welcoming got screwed up as did the name. I've got it straightened out now. There are still a couple of problems like it now telling where they are from and etc. but I'll get it all straightened out when I get home from our trip.

Black Owl deleted the post before I saw it. I trust his judgement though and have banned that person from the site.

No, and I won't until I sell the 550. I'm actually still on vacation through this next week. If nobody here buys it before I get home then I'll probably list it on Ebay next week.

No, there is not at this time. When I get home from vacation though, I'll see what I can come up with.

New E3 Tires, New Problem
Freebird replied to ablumny's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I STILL say that it's the small bushing on the right side of the hub that is probably in backwards. I put mine in wrong once and got that exact same result. The turned down side of the bushing must go in...against the bearing. Otherwise it will let the wheel run out just enough to rub. -
New E3 Tires, New Problem

If it sounds like a tire just slightly rubbing something, you probably have the bushing backwards. There is a bushing on the right side that presses into the hub. I say "presses" but it's not a tight fit. You can remove it and put it back with your fingers. It is turned down on one side and flat on the other. If it is in backwards, it will allow the wheel to run to the right just barely enough that the tire will lightly rub. Not even enough to really mark the tire but will make a noise. -
I'm sure that Kent will answer this but I've always understood that the thermostat serves two purposes. In automobiles, it enables the water to reach a high enough temperature for the heater to do its job. Even more importantly though, in automobiles and on motorcycles, the engines are designed to run more efficiently within a certain temperature range. The thermostat keeps the engines within that range.

Glad that they are covering the shock but if the bike is still actually under warranty, labor should be covered also.

Well, I've decided that I'm probably going to upgrade to the Zumo 665. I've put my 550 with XM receiver in the classifieds if anybody is interested. If so, please note that I will not be able to ship it until I get home on weekend of the 16th. If it hasn't sold by then, I'll probably put it on Ebay.
