  1. I agree with you on regular maintenance when you are in your enviroment but 4,000 miles away from home and your regular dealer you need service not rules and regulations. I ride 14,000 miles a year from coast to coast US and Canada Never never happen to me before.
  2. I took a trip form Montreal to Vancouver 14,000km over 28 days. What a trip nice ride, people, weather and scenary.Only one glitch in the trip The Yamaha dealer in Kelowna. We were three couples, two riding Honda's, and us with the Venture. We all needed an oil change so off we went my friends to Honda and me to Yamaha. Guess what? The dealer did not want to change my oil that day even if I mentionned I was leaving early next morning:bang head:. He said all was taken and their policy is not to take walk ins. They have two sites so the other one wanted me to leave the bike for the day and they would maybe fit me in. What should I do in the meantime with no ride????? not their problem. I ended up in a Victory :clap2:bike shop with great service and a friendly atmosphere, even if I was riding a Yamaha. Bought gloves while I was there, one hour later I was out and ready to ride. My message to the Kelowna dealer is he might be good in boats and four wheelers but as a bike shop he is unworthy of giving sevice and should not sell motorcycle. If they can't help the riders to continue their journey they are not a bike shop. Oh and talk about all the ribbing I got from my Honda friends. If I had a Harley, Victory, Honda, I would have had service but the Kelowna Yamaha dealer:thumbdown:, no sir. I had to pass this on and I am sending an email to their offices so they know how I feel. Thanks for reading.
  3. Thanks for the reply Off I:mo money: go to the dealer
  4. Can I replace the valve(rubber and stem) without taking the tire off the rim Thanks!
  5. I have been thinking of installing a headlight modulator. Who has one and what make is the most used for the Venture.
  6. Thanks Roadkill I finally got the same info on the POI site.My GPS is now set up for the Yamaha dealers
  7. After reading the post on the POI's I went to the factory POI'S site downloaded the Yamaha dealers When I open my Zumo it says Found new files do you want to manage now. I push yes and then it gives me the only option to bring them in to my favorites . I know that is not were they should go . I have downloaded the Garmin POI loader. Its on my C drive on my computer and tried to send it to the Zumo and once again the only choice is to bring it in to my Favorites Does anyone have a suggestion . Thanks:bang head:
  8. Help I read the thread for the POI"S I have registered and receive my password. I downloaded the yamaha US and Canada files but can"t find it on my Zumo. They are not in my favorites not in suppletments and when I type the yamaha in the POI's it take a long time to find one and it's 340km from my place. Does anybody have an explanation Oh yes knowing this group it is not the guy behind the Zumo that is the problem...HI HI HI!
  9. I have the Yamaha bag after 13,500km on our last trip not once was it loose. It is one off the most useful item we have purchased. For more protection I added a velcro strap to the handle and it twists on the front of the rack. Call it over kill!
  10. I have them for the past three years They are great, good sound and a very good quality on transmitting .I will be looking for a cut off button for the passenger. Service is good last year had a small problem with the mike and four days later I had a new one . I recommend them.
  11. I am looking to purchase the Garmin Zumo 550. After looking at a lot of GPS write up I stopped my choice on the Zumo . A little costly but it has a lot to offer and is made for the outdoors :snow2: . I will also use it in my car during the winter time . I have my name at two distributors so they will call me as soon as they have some in stock! Can't wait! got lost again :bang head: on the weekend and my wife got me on the right track AGAIN" :Im not listening to :Im not listening to

    Need warm gear

http://www.gerbing.com/ If you want warm this is it!!!!!
  13. I have the Yamaha Bag and it is very good. When I travel alone I put a bag on the back seat and cover it with cargo net. Works for me !!not as expensive as the other bags:mo money: Have a great trip
  14. I have the IMC for the last three years can not tell you what I sound like but have not gotten any complaints from fellow riders. My friend has them and the sound comes in clear. Model is for shorty type of helmets not full face. Only one thing that bothers me is the wind sound of my passengers mic I know they have a cut off swicht and will be trying it guess it would be the same thing with the JM I love the radio sound when I am riding better that the bike speakers Hope this helps.
