  3. I agree with Monty, you would see a leak by now. But it definitley looks like something has hit your rad. mabbee get it protected..
  4. Yep, what he said, you have a fair bit of altitude so snow isnt uncommon. Heck there is probably still skiing at Sunshine village just up the road from Banff a few minutes Brian
  5. Its good to hear that you guys are safe and sound, sux that your weather is so wet and cold so far, hopefully it will change for the better soon. take care, Brian
  6. I think he is overnighting in Salmon with Teri and Irv (pakidiaho) Its gorgeous country around there, ive been there a few times myself, but not on the scoot, one of these days hopefully soon. Actually it kinda reminds me of the terrain around Nelson BC in a lot of ways. brian
  7. I guess he forgot to turn it on or something , as long as its on it shows progress along the road, if its not on it takes the shortcuts.... I hear he had a delay,.......something about a sherriff,,,,,,has he been listening to e-fishin-c? :rotfl: Brian
  8. I think that SilvrT is about ready to try when his shows up. Brian
  9. Yeah, I saw that too, its got Teri and Erv a bit worried as they sposed to be at their place by now. and theres no cell coverage in places...... I hope all is ok.... But we all do know that Paul never runs on time....right? lol Brian
  10. Rocket is on a Cross Continent trip with a friend. They are on an 83 and 86 venture pulling an Aluma trailer, if you see them give them a thumbs up! I hope they have a good time and a safe trip. If anyone wants to follow them on their tour, here is the link to Pauls Spot locator. http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0dW2uviFRmfVBIi65A9vRaQ1osJHe2jOq Brian
  11. Sorry Rick, My G1 85 has the whine, you can hear it around 3000 -3200 rpm and its worse at warmer temps. I gather that its not as bad a some of the g2 bikes, but mine is audible as a Jetson whine (according to my ride friends). On the hot days I do have to turn up the tunes, my HJC full face helmet changes the pitch a bit compared to my 3/4 helmet and helps but its still annoying on a highway ride. If you go to you tube and tpye in kruisn the kootenays and look at a couple of my vids running beside those lakes you can really hear the whine over the wind. Brian
  12. he is hoping that with no badge no one will recognize him............ Brian:group cheers::group cheers:
  13. My thoughts are with you and your family. I am sorry for your pain. Brian
  14. yep, I remember being that age once and 5 years later being amazed at how much my dad had learned!!!!!!:bang head: Brian
  15. you (or someone like Eck with lots of time, LOL) could set up a tshirt for sale at CafePress and eliminate a bunch of time, fussing with sizing and work for you, and let anyone that wants a shirt to order one directly from them. Brian
  16. That may be, but at least we dont have the mountains obstructing the view...... Brian
  17. 300 miles is less than what I will put on this Monday for a local riding group ride, these bikes were made for distance riding. As long as you do regular maintenance you should be fine. Theres no reason to worry, as new bikes have issues as well. If you need some reassurance, maybe get AAA coverage so you can get a tow without breaking the wallet, its nice to know that you wont have to scramble to get someone to look after you when you have the AAA coverage. Brian
  18. Really?I knew things were getting a bit rougher around Vancouver but I didnt realize handguns were getting to be such a big concern there. I think Ive only ever seen 2 handguns up here in person up close, and they were both friends that were LEO that were showing off a new piece. Brian
  19. Yep Crown Royal on ice is my Canadian whiskey of choice...... But again going into the US they add corn whiskey to Crown and blend it, they say for US tastes, but I kinda wonder if its because Corn whiskey is cheaper than the rye whiskey? brian
  20. a quick note that the CC you buy in the US isnt the same as what is sold in Canada. In the US it is blended with some Bourbon whiskey for US tastes, in Canada it is not blended. I do not know what version Australia has. IMHO, the Canadian version is a bit smoother, but its all whatcha get used to, I think. (the pricing is much better in the US, so its easy to get used to the blended version....lol) I would recommend sticking with Canada Dry or Schweppes Ginger Ale and avoid the Vernors, its more like a kiddy drink, not a good mixer in my opinion. Brian
  21. Use floola for downloading from the ipod, actually synching is a better word. Its free and lets you hookup more than 1 ipod to your computer without deleting your files when it tries to synch 2nd one. have a look here,http://www.floola.com/home Brian
  22. About 4 hours before I bought my set of motorcycle jumper cables....... Brian
  23. you should probably msg e-fishin-c a member here that has an FJR for more info. We know its fast as the local police have gotten to know Charlie pretty well in Ontario Canada since he has bought it. LOL! Brian

    warning

those the ones that look like a big skeeters, but dont bite? if so , we call em fish flies. Brian
  25. that is definitly an 85 like mine and youre luckier than me if it was after the 2nd gear cutoff.. You would like the bigger trunk and its the only year with the bigger trunk that the bags are all easily detachable. Floorboards for the early G1's are very rare and ive seen sets go on ebay for 300 bucks for the front set. And most have pegs for the passengers not boards. Brian
