Warning Light
friesman replied to lwinders's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
one of the other squares on your display should be showing a picture of something, and that is the clue to what is lighting the warning. a common one happens when ppl change out the battery and dont use the fluid level probe with the bikes new battery. it requires an easy fix of attaching a resistor in the line where the probe used to be. (the thread explaining how is in here somewhere) BTW Welcome to the group! Brian -
Yep, take a snapshot, ppl wont beleive it was ever empty....lol brian

Class acting up
friesman replied to a1bummer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sounds a lot like mine, but mine throws an E2 error code after waiting quite a while. I have just about given up on mine and think Ill do like a few others here and just mount schrader valves that i can attch an air pump to and eliminate the need for the pump. Brian -
I have the largest sheild that Clearview makes for the G1 bikes, and find that in most instances it cuts way back on buffeting and noise from the old slipstream windsheild. The only time I find more buffeting is when Ive going into a strong quartering wind, and then I open the vent a crack it does help reduce the buffeting effects. My Passengers have remarked that they find the larger windsheild much more comfortable at highway speeds. Brian

If you set any wood on the floor, ensure you put some plastic or tarpaper between it and your concrete to stop the transfer of moisture and concrete compounds into the wood. I would be inclined to saw the post off just above the floor if possible and then attach a wooden stud on both sides of the post using long bolts so they clamp everything together. I would attach a heavy metal bracket to the concrete using a lugs and then attach your new studs to those metal angle plates. Brian

A friend is looking at a NUVI gps and has been told that it wont broadcast fm to his bike fm radio. One salesguy has told him that only the weather reports will broadcast thru to his fm radio. he is looking to run some music from an sd card and get his gps voice directions through his speakers. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Or suggest a gps that will do this for him? Brian

class air system need help
friesman replied to cfrasure's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Snag, I think the 85 trunk is a bit farther back than the 83 or 84 as we have the bigger trunk on a different mounting rack. there's a tool pouch that sits between the seat and the trunk. ( a One year deal) that isnt in Garys picture. Brian -
class air system need help
friesman replied to cfrasure's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
One of the guys I know cut the lines at the pump and added Schrader valves , mounted them under his trunk so all he has to do is hook up a hand pump and adjust his air. (just like a new g2 bike...) I would think you should avoid an air hose as you might blow out your fork seals with the high pressure air. Brian -
the eyebrows on the G2 bikes will come off as they are held on with double sided tape. (slide some nylon fishing line underneath and gently saw back and forth) I dont know of anyone doing the chrome trim around the headlight etc. but it might look pretty sharp! Brian

Rear Shock Replacement with Remote Adjuster
friesman replied to TheKid's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
But keep pushing the dealer for a replacement shock. If you get one from Yamaha, then take it off and sell it to help pay for your Hagon... Brian
