  1. Quite a few times when I lived outside of Bristol, TN (not on the RSTD) but around Tulsa I can't find the time working 70+ hours a week. In Bristol they would have Street Fights a lot of the time as much as 3 days a week at Thunder Valley. As for Tulsa there is only one drag strip that i have been able to locate sofar and it is only open one day a week in the summer months, and only opens up to the general public after midnight.
  2. I looked for a while and could never find a video of an off the line launch of the RSTD so I decided to make one awhile back in case someone else was curious. I know it’s not a rocket but I wanted to see what she would do nothing crazy, didn't dump the clutch or anything just seeing how it would compare before and after mods. Right now the only thing done to it is a set of BUB's but it seems quicker than the numbers I have been reading. So after I install the Dyna 3000 and V-Max swap I will post another video to see if there is any noticeable difference. If anyone knows of similar videos please feel free to share. 3. Great show... I actually got turned on to it when serving overseas.....
  4. With the next gen 2014 Goldwing just around the corner Yamaha needs to step it up!!! When will we se the next Venture? Okay about the only thing we know for sure about the 2014 Goldwing for sure is that there is going to be one, but with the introduction of the BMW K1600GTL Honda is going to step it up big time. So where does that leave Yamaha.... The Venture is a great bike but there is no way it will be able to compete with the next generation of bikes that will be showing up before to long. I have benn doing research religiously and have came up with nothing leading to a next gen Venture so I'm starting to wonder if there well even be one?
  5. I have recently joined the PGR and have been trying to find time to go on a mission. Being an OEF/OIF Vet my self the first time I seen PGR escort a fallen soilder of base I knew it was something that I wanted to be part of. For some of the more experienced members out there I was wondering what you need to bring to the missions Flags......? I don't want to show up the odd man out or even worse disrespectful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I have came accross this chart several times but still no time for the newer RSTD. There is quite a bit of diffrence between the 1997 and the 05. And there is are some diffrences between the Venture and the RSTD a little not alot, but it would be good to see some actual 2005+ RSTD numbers.
  7. I hate to be the one to re-post a thread but I give up. I have been searching for actual 1/4 mile & 0-60 time for the 2005+ RSTD for over a year now and keep coming up empty handed. I know that these bikes aren’t made for the strip but these are figure I like to know on any vehicle I own. I have seen a couple of places that has said something about the 6 second range 0-60 but that number doesn’t seem correct. The only mod's done to my bike that I am aware of is a pair of BUB slip ons and it seems way quicker than a mid 6 0-60 run. There was one occasion were I pulled up behind a Cherokee SRT8 at a on ramp for the high way with a nice Borla exhaust and as soon as I stopped he start revving it up. Normally I wouldn't pay any attention to it but I wanted to see how quick one was off the line in person. Knowing I was going to see the Jeep in action was enough for me to try and give him a run for his money. Well any ways when the light changed he laid the hammer down and I dumped the clutch in chase but to my amazement next thing I know I was changing lanes and he was slowly disappearing in my mirror. I slowed down when I hit 70 and just went on about my business but right before my exit he shot back up beside me trying to get me two give him a second try but I just gave him a thumbs up and got off my exit (it wasn't worth passing up Bass Pro). I know a lot of people would think a jeep would be no comparison for a bike but the SRT8 is an AWD capable of sub 5 second 0-60 runs. Also they pretty much eliminates the issue of a good or bad driver, even though it has over 400hp with its AWD launching and wheel spin is not a problem. But anyways if I could leave that jeep sit then the numbers I have been reading seems like they are off by a bit so if anyone would has any personal experience or knows or read of any 0-60 or 1/4 mile times I would greatly appreciate it.
  8. I just purchased a 2005 RTSD with a little over 7,000 miles for $6,000 which I am hoping was a decent deal. But any ways I test drove it and it never showed the first sign of a problem. But on my way home it started cutting out when accelerating and popping on deceleration. Well at the end of my 200 mile trip home the bike was cutting out pretty bad pretty much through about 70% of the rev band and popping any time I stared to decelerate. I know the bike has been siting for about 7-8 weeks and not sure if that would have anything to do with it or at least to that extent. (Oh, and the bike has a pair of BUB's on it if that may be contibuting to the problem). My last bike was fuel inj. so I never had any of these problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks: Tim
