  4. I did the same thing today---Cleaned the air filters (K&N) and sync'd the carbs. I also did a good cleaning of the bike (good way to inspect everything). I use the Morgan Pro Carbtune. What I do is set the RPM's up till the manometer rods settle down (stop fluctuating) and then I do the adjustments. I don't have a tachometer so I don't know the exact RPM's Tonto go to this thread and it will explain the Carb sync pocedures http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=72205

  13. The mornings have been mid 20's low 30's lately but the afternoons have been nice--------So I've been dressing for the cold :snow2:in the mornings and ride to work, but really enjoying the ride home..
  14. I've only got about 2000 miles on my Elite 3 tires, and I think they are great. I had a problem with my Bridgestones at 6000 miles. So I put a Dunlop 404 on the rear. At 12,000 miles I decided I wanted to replace the front with a Dunlop. I chose to replace both front and rear with the Elite 3's I really like the way they ride!

  17. It was 23 degrees this morning when I left for work. I used to ride a Honda VTX and I would freeze at this temp.. The RSV with the fairings and such I was pretty comfortable. Ride home will be better (The ride home from work is always better) Why is that? LOL
  18. Just tell the wife it is a family tradition.. "When you marry off a son you have a drink and a cigar!!"
  19. You're Welcome:thumbsup2:
  20. Glad to hear both you and the wife were not hurt too bad. The proper gear is important and it does help.
  21. I got out the old sewing machine, and a piece Naughehyde(sp) cut it out and sewed it up. If you know how to sew it's easy (only took me three tries)
  22. First I'll say not enough!! I bought my 2008 RSV in Nov '07 A thankgiving gift to me. Since then I've put on 12,350 miles and enjoying the heck out of it!!

  24. I mostly lurk on this sight. Yes I read the posts about so many new people on line but not posting Well Here I am..I've been here for almost a year, and have made a few posts Anyway lets talk tires... Last June Peggy and I took two weeks and did the Blueridge and the Skyline drive from start to finish and back again. At that time I had a little over 6000 miles on the Bridgestones and the rear developed a problem. We were stuck on N.C. got a new Dunlop 404 that's all the dealer had at the time. So i bought it. Now I had 12000 miles on it the front tire, still the Bridgestone (started to cup and make a lot of noise) I decided new tires front and rear. I read the forums and decided to get the Dunlop Elite 3 front and rear. The local dealer wanted $550. for the tires, mount, balance and install!! I ordered them from Two Brothers Tires in Lawrenceville, Ga. they shipped them to the house Both tires and shipping $234.00 (Dealer here in Evans,Ga. wanted $225.00 for the rear tire alone) Anyway i took the wheels off the bike took to a local guy here and he mounted and balanced them $40.00 I re-installed them last night , and today I put about 100 miles on them. What a difference in the ride, so much smoother and quieter. I know i've only put on 100 miles but "I LIKE EM" So far!!!
  25. I was going to be smart and suggest that you just turn the whole wheel and tire assy. around. So I went out to the garage to look at the front tire and wheel on my '08, and on the spokes of the wheel it also has an arrow saying direction of rotation. Is it possible that the wheel could be mounted on the bike wrong? and not just the tire? just a thought
