  1. Danged, get busy and don't get on the puter for a couple days and see what I missed...Happy B'day to ya PAL. Wish you many more. BTW, Pink is YOU!! MIKE aka Uturn
  2. Renewed registration on my 06 Venture on Friday. I had the option paying 2 years on the form received in the mail at only $101.50 for two years for my plates. My car and truck is higher because of weight (I guess). Oh, it is what it is. MIKE aka Uturn
  3. Trust me ... it is hard to outrun the radio-waves. Only way is if the LEO is patrol for a WIDE area with no nearby support. MIKE aka Uturn
  4. Heck all I want is parts for the Puick and Honda we drive and since the infamous " Cash for Clunkers " program, parts availability is becoming not existent. Since I'm asking, anybody got a driver side manual window regulator for a 1991 Honda Civic 5 door Wagon. MIKE aka Uturn
  5. Don, My son and I installed a tank-less unit using LP at his house. They have maintained records and compared the gas unit used to the same period use with the electric unit for a year. He saves money and most of all, he has instant hot water. Don't remember if I saw gas logs at your house, so it may be that you already using propane other than a 20# bottle. Just another choice for you to think about. MIKE aka Uturn

    Keys

I know my 99, a buddy's 04, 05 and my 06...all had one key until the ignition was changed on my '99 - then I had the two keys double side cut to allow only one key. Either your dealer is mis-informed or a big liar. Your decision of which one. Good luck in future dealing with them. MIKE aka Uturn
  7. Margaret, Sorry for your loss. Gale and I send condolences and prayers for you and your family. MIKE aka Uturn
  8. Kelly and Kitty, Congratulation and thanks for presenting DaKota to us. Man dat be a big boy. Kitty still riding the Venture and letting you ride the Honda? Still remember you riding "B" with her at the helm. Take care and hope to see you guys in 2012. MIKE aka Uturn
  9. The switch on my 99 went out while on a trip. Called my friend and he looked at a forum (other one) and the steps were there to hot wire it. I used spade terminals on cut wires and cross wired it. Got home, took switch apart, soldered in a new blob for contacts. Worked for another year and half before my friend that bought the 99 had to get new switch. He still has the spaded wires in place if he ever needs them. One thing, taking the OEM switch off, you will probably need a chisel to remove the "no head" bolts. Good Luck, MIKE aka Uturn
  10. Oh well, welcome to my world. My friend always said "You'll find out KY doesn't stand for Kentucky!" Hope everything is okay once you get your scoot back. MIKE aka Uturn
  11. My condolences to you and your family. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. MIKE aka Uturn
  12. I buy from Advance on-line and have been satisfied. After seeing this, I went on-line, ordered the 128 oz can (equals 8 - 16 oz) and I used the code A123. The can is normally $59.99 but with the code, It was only $39.99. I'll take a $20 discount anytime. As a side note: I normally use Pri-G in all my gas engines. It is very effective. MIKE aka Uturn
  13. I am impressed with the product Ride-On in the YouTube video. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mid3XqDlyk&playnext=1&list=PLDD2948C869912E27]Tire Sealant - Ride-On Tire Protection System (TPS) - YouTube[/ame] Give it a try and let us know what you think. Good luck in a solution. MIKE aka Uturn
  14. Same thing happened to me more or less. I was down at Muffinman's to do a ColorTune and the rear plug wasn't firing. It turned out to be a bad coil. Jeff said that was the second one he ran into on a 2006 RSV in three weeks. Really a coincidence, huh? Ordered the coil, finished the colortune and all is well and the RSV runs like HELLo !!!! Good luck with yours!!! Call Muffinman, tell him road trip :>). MIKE aka Uturn
  15. When I had my 99 RSV, I had the same problem (sounds like) as you're having. My buddy and I took the PTT button apart and cleaned the contacts. It worked great and that was about 4 years ago and still works with the new owner (also a friend). Now move forward, I bought an almost new 06 RSV. On a BRP trip, I experienced the same thing, but after I'm home trouble-shooting the problem, it wasn''t the contacts this time. The dealer removed the CB under the back seat, sent it in and about 2 1/2 months it came back, dealer re-installed it on the bike with no problems since. Lucky for me it was still under warranty, so NO charge. The best of luck to you. MIKE aka Uturn
  16. Prayers are with Ponch and for a speedy recovery. Thanks for continuing updates. MIKE aka Uturn
  17. Congrads! Be Proud and above all - Be safe.. MIKE aka Uturn
  18. Just to satisfy my curosity...Is there a chance of the 06 RSV having this problem? MIKE aka Uturn
  19. Best thing is a quality set of left-hand bits. Good luck. MIKE aka Uturn
  20. Sorry, can't see any image. MIKE aka Uturn
  21. Digger, Did you buy any of the commercial shots of you in the turns etc. If so, post for the rest of us to see. You didn't drag the trailer through there did you? Glad you enjoyed the trip and returned home safe. MIKE aka Uturn
  22. This is a very interesting read. Many different opinions and I believe all are valid. George (Sleeperhawk) mentioned a valve blew out on the front tire from a past post. That brings a my question. How many of us change out the valve with each tire change? Also I ran into an old man (yep, older than me!) at the shop where I change my tires. He told me that the way he has always checked his tire pressure is to fill to bike specs at cold, run it to get hot and the pressure should not increase over 4lbs. He told me that a tire should never change from cold pressure to hot pressure more than 4lbs. Now this will change as the ambient temperature changes. I don't know what is right or wrong but I always have been running mfg max pressures. MIKE aka Uturn
  23. A friend needed a CDI for his Triumph and someone one gave me a link to pass to him. Well after research, he found a company in CA. Don't know what else the unit would work with but here is the link. http://www.procomeng.com/index.php?view=catalog&cat_id=5&brand_id=9&model_id=124> Maybe this will help someone. MIKE aka Uturn
  24. On the way back from my SC last weekend, I stopped for gas, when I started to get back on the road, I had no power. Assuming that I had a blowed fuse, I started taking the bike apart to check fuses. After 1.5 hour in the 99 degree weather, I found the problem to be a broken ground battery cable. What broke was the flat metal at the bend next to where it connects to the battery. Wedged the broken piece under lugs and tighten down. Picked up a new end at the shop yesterday. Will anyone tell me the "best" way to get the cable off so I can put the new connector on. I would reckon it is ground to the engine block "SOMEWHERE?". Thanks, MIKE aka Uturn
  25. Just remember guys THAT "There but for the grace of GOD go I".. it can happen to any of us that quick...just hope it don't!! MIKE aka Uturn
