I wired in the switch right at the unit. I had always figured the power was for the memory but when I turn it back on it goes to 1-1 for a few seconds and then goes right to where it left off. If I had realized ahead of time it would do that I would have used a relay switched by something that went off when the key was off. I was on their website to ask for a schematic and was surprised they had my video linked.

I believe all late model Japanese bikes are like this. You know they are capable of producing an accurate speedomter. I have heard that they are allowed + or - 5% but if they are capable of accuracy they should give us accuracy. I firmly believe it is an effort to fool the public but with everybody getting GPS units we are catching on. My old 81 Maxim was right on the money and I was constantly passing. When I got my new Venture I wasn't passing anybody. I borrowed a radar gun and found it was off 6 mph at 70. My 96 Suzuki is almost exactly the same as the Venture but my 97 Sportster was accurate.

I give a third for Andy. 2" of slush on one side and clear on the other. If he had kept it in the open lanes he would have been ok.

I have only had mine off the throttle assembly but my quess would be that it is broke. They don't come off the throttle assembly unless they are real loose.

I have an Emachines netbook that I really like. Lately I have to have the lid positioned just right to get a clear picture so I ordered a new cable for the monitor. When it came it was perfect except the connecter for the webcam was the wrong size. I decided to contact Emachines directly to try to get the right part. I thought some of you might get a kick out of my conversation with their rep. Now keep in mind that I had to input my serial number and my problem before I could even start. Swaroop Gantayat: Hi, my name is Swaroop Gantayat. How may I help you? Swaroop Gantayat: Are we connected? Swaroop Gantayat: Are we still connected? Bill Madole: I need the cable that hooks up to the LCD monitor.webcam, and microphone. Where can I obtain one? I purchased one online (50.S6702.001) but when I went to install it the connecter for the webcam was to large. I thought if I went to the manufacturer I might be able to get the right part. Swaroop Gantayat: I can understand your concern. Swaroop Gantayat: I will provide you with the required information. Swaroop Gantayat: I have verified your product serial number and found that the unit is out of standard manufacturer's warranty; hence I regret to inform that Emachines is unable to provide warranty privileges to fix this issue. Bill Madole: I do not want warranty work. All I want to know is where can I buy the part? Swaroop Gantayat: May I know exactly which part are you looking for? Bill Madole: The cable that hooks up to the LCD monitor, webcam, and microphone. Swaroop Gantayat: Okay. Swaroop Gantayat: Thank you for the information. Swaroop Gantayat: I understand that you would like to know where can you purchase the cable which connects LCD monitor, webcam, and microphone. Am I correct? Bill Madole: Yes Swaroop Gantayat: Thank you for the confirmation. Swaroop Gantayat: Bill, that is a generic part and they will not part number for it. Swaroop Gantayat: You just have to provide the model number and they will provide the information. Swaroop Gantayat: Bill, as we are hardware technician, we do not do any direct sales. Swaroop Gantayat: However, I will provide you the MundoCorp phone number and site, who are parts sellers. Swaroop Gantayat: Please contact them and they will provide all the information you need. Swaroop Gantayat: Here is the model number of the computer:EM250. Swaroop Gantayat: Here is the website and phone number, Bill. Swaroop Gantayat: http://www.mundocorp.com Swaroop Gantayat: Mundo corp Direct Phone number: 888-278-7500 Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 AM-5:00 PM EST Hope somebody gets a laugh out of this. The shame is that I own three emachine computers and actually do like them. At least after I put the netbook back together it started working right. I don't expect that to last though.

They use tubes with tubeless tires on spoked wheels all the time.

1974 Yamaha RD250 2stroke. Put 11000 miles on it in a year and it didn't have a signal left on it. I think I crashed it 3 times that year and didn't crash again until Feb 2005. Hopefully I can go another 30 years before I have another. Didn't get hurt in any of those three but got hurt pretty bad in the last one.

Just don't run over something that can bounce up into the radiator. I was headed to Duluth with a friend who was riding an Electra Glide with about 125000 miloes on it. I had about 70000 on my Venture at that time. I was worried about him having problems. He didn't have any but I ran over a flattened soda bottle in a parking lot and it flipped up into my radiator and knocked a hole in 2 tubes. That was about half way through Iowa. Got some JB weld for under water use and patched it. I was pretty nervous about heading even farther from home but I loaded up on antifreeze and went. When I got home I put a new radiator and a guard on. http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/CIMG1753.jpg

super tenere vid- this guy is insane!!
midnightventure replied to reddevilmedic's topic in Watering Hole
The guy is a great rider but that running across the highway at the underpass blind was scary. A guy I know lost his leg when he was a teenager trying to jump a rural highway. Jumped out in front of a car. He was still wild and crazy even with a fake leg. Still alive now though. -
I have a friend that is a Mo highway patrolman. He is one of the few that has been shot by a high powered rifle and lived. Years ago when both our sons were on the same baseball team I sat with him and he told me about driving his personal Crown Vic across country on vacation at 85 mph. The only bad bike accident I ever was in I was running slower than normal. If I had been running my normal speeds I would have been well past the intersection before the lady in the van turned.

It's funny how the smell of cow manure or fresh cut fescue hay can bring back good memories.

Just make sure you get the electronic start (cold start) if your garage isn't always warm because the others burn out bulbs fast when trying to start and it's cold. I'm not sure if the old fashioned ones are even available anymore but they were 10 years ago when I built my garage. After a couple of years of replacing bulbs all the time I replaced them and haven't replaced a bulb since then. The good ones are available at Wal-mart for about 10.00.

I got to sit on one a couple of months ago. Fit me perfect and very easy to stand up on. Problem is that both my bikes I have now won't wear out and I believe in driving vehicles until they are wore out. At least by the time I need to buy a new bike there should be some good used ones available. Report back when you get to ride it and let us know what you think.

I run my GPS off it all the time. Don't try to run an air compressor from it though.

My 2002 has a little over 90000 miles on it and I recently noticed that the new windshield that Yamaha put on it after I crashed is starting to do some flaky things so I could use a new one.

Tell him to get rid of the Corbin and get a Russell Day Long. I used to have a Sportster with a stock seat and it was more comfortable for 350 miles than my Venture with a Corbin.

My original yuasa battery lasted 4 1/2 years. I had never had a motorcycle battery last more than 2 years before so I bought an identical replacement. It lasted right at 4 1/2 years too so I am now on my fresh third one.

I wonder how many accidents have been caused since all these states have passed the law that your supposed to move over for a parked cop?
-
I have a Corbin and a Russell Day Long. The Corbin was very pretty but the Russell Day Long out performs it. I wish I had bought the Russell Day Long about 70000 mils sooner.

Thanks. I believe i will just keep the battery tender on it when I am not riding a couple of times a week.

Does it lose track of where it is when the power is turned off?

I loaded free Kindle software onto my netbook. Then I downloaded a bunch of free old books from the Gutenburg Project. Old westerns, science fiction, Mark Twain. Zane Grey, Max Brand, Andre Norton. It's amazing how quick they download. I just bought my first book today from Amazon. A book on hammock camping.

I am using Transcend class 6 cards.

And I thought my 95 was low mileage.
