I don't drive it daily. It only has 42000 miles on it. 1995 Trans Am http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/Petit%20Jean%20Mtn/CIMG0905.jpg

I was looking for a KLR when I stumbled across my DR650 at a good price. That type of bike is a lot more fun and also more capable than I ever knew before I got one. I have ridden mine 400 miles in a day down through southern Mo and NW Ar. Handles great on the twisties and will do 90 passing somebody.

If you have any mold at all get a dehumidifier. Makes it much more comfortable.

I have it but it rarely causes me any pain. I am only commenting because just tonight on CBS they carried a story about a new treatment. Some dentists are injecting Botox into the joint and having success with eliminating pain. It is outside the approved uses for Botox so insurance won't pay and it has to be repeated every 4 months. The woman they were talking to said it was life changing for her.

My older Japanese bikes were pretty close but I noticed just as soon as I got my Venture that I was getting passed and previously I never got passed. Borrowed a radar gun and came up with the same answer your group noticed. My 1997 Sportster was right on the money. -
No it doesn't. It works just like the 6CD changer that it replaces. You can manually change between the 6 folders or 99 songs on a folder with the thumb controls on the radio control.

Thanks for the info. This is the kind of info thats needed to make decisions. I'm going to keep mine on the battery tender.

It comes with everything needed including the cable. It is sold here. http://www.venturemp3.com/ You email them and tell them you want it and they send the info to pay with paypal which is what I did. I believe there is an option to pay directly from your checking account. The day they shipped I got an email with a picture of my package with my address on it.

It was designed in Spain and made in China. Has a 2 year warranty but you never know how good a warranty is until you need it. Now that somebody has taken the time to design one after all these years I quess somebody might reverse engineer it and make them cheaper. I got mine for 127 dollars on sale.

I had my 6 cd changer in a saddle bag but I had gotten tired of having to take the wire out every time I changed a back tire.

A while back there was a thread about a MP3 player that interfaced with the radio and was controlled by the radio controls. Although I was hesitant because of a lack of info I took advantage of the sale that was going on and ordered one. I installed it today and thought I would try to get some more info out about it. Here is a video I made of it operating. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj3bAjEdPOc]Venture MP3 install - YouTube[/ame] Here are a couple of pictures. http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/CIMG1418.jpg http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/CIMG1414.jpg Even though I had a cold I couldn't resist going for a ride and trying it out. Rode about 35 miles on some rough paved roads and about a mile on gravel. It worked perfect on the pavement but it did quit and I had to cycle through AUX,FM1,FM2 and back to CD and it took right off were it left off. So far I am satisfied with it but I wish that I had felt better so I could have rode 100 miles. The directions state to load the songs for the first CD directly to the SD card and then create 5 more folders called CD02 through CD06. You can load 99 songs to each folder. Total of 594 songs. Also it says to make sure there are no odd symbols like ')in the titles. I had already gone through and fixed all my titles and ended up with 2 1/2 SD cards full. It plays MP3 and WMA. If you pop one SD card out and put nin another it starts at the same disc and song number it was on before. Long pushes on the switch changes Cds (folders) and quick pushs change songs. It creates CD01 soon as it fires up.

I get on here to check for tips on Ventures and its a pretty rare night there isn't somebody trashing another rider just because they don't ride what they ride. Its about 100 yards out of my parking lot at work and I am shifted to one side on the Dr in the curve within 30 foot. Like I said its not something you even think about. You notice i said some of you. If you haven't been trashing other bike riders then I didn't call you an *******.
-
If you get used to riding a certain way maybe it just comes natural. Some of you can be a bunch of *******s sometimes. Either trashing Harley riders or sport bike riders.
-
Take a sharp center punch and start striking with a hammer on the bolts in the right direction. You would be surprised what can sometimes be done. Multiple light taps are better than real hard hits.

The hardest part with tube tires is getting the valve stem through the hole in the wheel but there is even a cheap tool available to help with that.

Yes it is mine. The big cooler was kind of a proof of concept thing. I have since replaced it with a plywood box. The insulation in the cooler just used up to much space. Here is the only picture I could find of it after I installed the plywood box. http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/trailer/plywood.jpg- 20 replies

With the camping pads strapped to the grab rails it scuffed the saddlebags a little and I had to buff them. http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/CIMG0013.jpg Now this is the ticket except for having to ride a Venture up a ski slope where BMW Adv bikes were being dropped right and left, ( Aerostich VBR Rally in Duluth MN) http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/CIMG1753.jpg- 20 replies

Looking for things to do in Arkansa ?
midnightventure replied to hunthomer66's topic in Watering Hole
First time I have seen the Oark Cafe mentioned on this forum. I think all the Northwest Arkansas dirt riders base their rides on eating pie at the Oark cafe. -
At the end of the Ride like a Pro video they do their routines on other bikes including a Venture. I don't think they look near as smooth as on the Harleys.
