  1. bought a 5 wire powered adaptor at a local auto parts store. I didn't purchase the adaptor cable, but should have would have been cleaner and easier. Plug in is below the seat. Wrapped the wires black spiral wrap from Radio shack( my bike is black) but they have clear and white as well. Al
  2. 1 use your Credit card as much as possible. your credit card probably is not chipped so there will be a little more fuss but not much 2 Canadian side of the Falls is much nicer 3 Enhanced Drivers license should be enough, but passport speeds things up 4 Bennington, Eat at the station house restaurant 5 get the forms for rebate of GST for goods you buy in Canada 6 Eh is a form of punctuation, not a question Enjoy Al
  3. I recently purchased a Piggy Backer XL trailer, which came with a swivel mount hitch. Although I have assembled the trailer, I have not used it yet as I have a couple modifications I want to make. I will let you know at a later date how it holds up and if it really offers anything better than a standard hitch. Al
  4. low fuel light comes on at 180 to 200 miles, ten miles or so have to switch to reserve, have gone 260 to empty but tht was intentional and was carrying spare gas, just to check how far I could go if needed. if I fill up when the light comes on I can only put in 4.5 gallons 2007 midnight Al
  5. Sold my Florida 2004 Goldwing, happy to be rid of it, not that it was a bad bike, it just didn't fit me as well as my Northern Bike a midnight venture. Now my dilemma, my wife has more motorcycles than me, anybody interested in a 2008 V-Star 1100? another option would be for me to buy another Royalstar, I kinda like that idea:lightbulb: Al
  6. If you want to get access to the demo rides you need to be a registered guest, the vendor area pass will not get you in there. Skip the escorted rides they are slow cumbersome and often accordion or slingshot a lot. get a good map or local advice and do your own rides. head up past Brant lake nice curvy road or past ny rt 8, or up the lake Luzerne Road and continue up to Great Scanandaga lake. if you register take the Yamaha boat tour around the lake, or one of the several other manufactured boat trips, but don't expect much from the dinners themselves. The BBQ on top of MT prospect werte pretty good, but Don't think they have those this year, nice ride up the mountain anyway. The Friday night dinner at Great escape was pretty good, but you can watch the fireworks from anywhere. In any case enjoy. Forgot to mention Skip the parking pass, if you have a registered wrist band, park in one of the tour expo lots and take the shuttle or walk, just about everything is within a mile radius. Parking on the streets is crowded and prone to scratches Al
  7. Been working on how to breath through my Butt for years. So far I have exhaling down pretty good
  8. although I don't care for the looks, I do like that Honda is at least trying to release something innovative in the 1300 size range. I always hoped Yamaha would develop a luxury touring bike from the FJR engine, along the same appearance as the Venture. Al
  9. but after they forced the suv to a stop, I feel he had every right to run right over those bikes, and when they were chasing him, he should have just started bumping them into the guardrails, he was in fear for his family's safety. we need to ride respect for others above and beyond what we expect from others if bikers ever expect to get past the biker gang stigma
  10. I have used it on my 2007 Venture, without any problems, I Do not do it often , just every couple weeks, so maybe a dozen times a year. My windshield is still clear and scratch free. I suspect many of the dire warnings you hear are not from first hand experience. Al
  11. Mike: at the meet and eat last spring at Siebring, the guy with the old classic Goldwing, had just shipped his bike down on the auto train. I don't remember his name but one of the guys at lunch that day should remember him. He had some damage on the trunk, caused by rubbing after one of the stabilizing straps broke. Al
