  3. I have dropped my Venture on the road twice. Both times when I was pulling away from a stop and turning with the wife on the back. She's about 150 and I'm 195. One thing I found out is when it's time to go, GO. If the power is taken from the back wheel for some reason as your turning your going over.-Jack
  4. Gary, your courage is truly inspiring! Ride free brother!-Jack:cool10:
  5. Mariner Fan, keep us posted on the installation and how you like the Zumo. I'm considering getting one for my birthday in June. In time for Stardays.-Jack:cool10:
  6. Harley Davidson has a good one for about $45. That's what I use.-Jack
  7. ABS, GPS, Lighted controls(all buttons such as horn, cruise control etc.) Fuel injection, more power, much better alternator, better sound system, more lights in back, adjustable handlebars. With these additions the Venture would go from being an outstanding tourer to the perfect Tourer IMO.-Jack
  8. Nice mootercycle!-Jack

  10. The main thing for me is to not get in a hurry.-Jack
  11. Great news Todd! Congrats on the new job. Too bad there'll be no more riding to the mountains on week days though.-Jack:080402gudl_prv:
  12. We were in Helen yesterday also. I saw a black cherry RSV parked in front of Chattahoochie Biker Gear. Was that you? Also saw an 07 like mine and a couple of Midnights.-Jack
  13. Actually the Raptor has an advanced AESA radar. It not only doesn't need an AWACS, it can act AS an AWACS, directing other aircraft in the battlespace even after it weapons are expended free from attack due to it's stealth. http://www.defense-update.com/products/f/F-22.htm
  14. Yes, the F-22 has afterburners. They're used for take off and quick acceleration but the engines have so much thrust they don't need them to cruise at supersonic speeds. That gives it a much greater combat range. The F-22 has incredible manuverability but it's main advantages are it's stealth, it's radar which gives it a "Gods eye view" of the battle space and it's computing power that determines targeting solutions. It's literally a super computer with wings. 1 F-22 will defeat 5 F-15's simultaniously. Not in a dog fight but from miles away before the F-15's even know it's there.-Jack
  15. I use the Supertec also. From what I understand they are made by Champion.-Jack
  16. I worked on the F-22 for 10 yrs in various positions. I'm currently working on the F-35. Thanks for the video!-Jack
  17. That's great to hear Gary! You're an inspiration!-Jack
  18. Or watch the bike races from Daytona!
  19. We've got inch on the ground and it's still coming, along with 30mph wind. A good day to sit by the wood heater and drink coffee!-Jack
  20. It mounts in the place where the center stand would be. The RSV has a place for a center stand but they don't come with them. The adaptor mounts there each time in a matter of seconds and you remove it when your done, again in a matter of seconds. I bought mine a few days ago and I'm anxiously awaiting it. I got to look at one that Larry donated last year at Vogel. Very well made. I use a Craftsman jack now and have to use wood blocks because the motor hangs below the frame. Even strapped down I feel uneasy getting on the floor with 800+ lbs of bike towering above me. Also the jack makes it hard to access one side of the bike. The lift adaptor with the freestanding legs solves all that. BTW the feet are now a standard feature on the legs making it even more stable.-Jack
  21. I don't get any motor or wind noise with mine. The mikes are shut off. I do get some hissing (white noise) if the intercom is turned up high. Is that what your calling motor noise?-Jack
  22. The instructions are not the best but they do say to reinstall the fairing cover before bolting the passing lamp assembly onto the bike. That way the lamps themselves can be installed on the bar before bolting the assembly to the bike. Use the deflector mounting screws to determine what size tap is needed and run it into the holes on the light bar to clean out any excess chrome, then the screws should go right in. Don't forget to use some loctite on the screws.-Jack
  23. Beer, what model do you have?-Jack

  25. How far did you drill them? You can drill them to 4 different levels. Did you drill out the back with an 1 1/8" hole saw? On the Venturers.org site there is a description of the 4 levels and how to do them. Look in the tech library. The authors name is "pudge".-Jack
