  1. My RK's got louder after they burned in also. That's why if you drill the baffles you should ride about 500 miles before deciding to drill them more or take a hole saw to the rear baffle. You can always drill them out some more but you can't undrill them.-Jack
  2. People do it all the time. Many dealers will not allow test rides. I handed over $13,700 for my 07 RSV(new) without test riding it.
  3. I would want cash in hand before a test ride. Then if they bring it back with no damage within 30 minutes and say they don't want it I'd refund the money. There are just too many things that can happen.

  5. The yammie lamps should have instructions with them. Here is the thread with the diagram for the alternate wiring method using a relay. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=525 Here is an alternate method from the Venturers site. You will have to register to view it. Viewing is free but you will have to pay if you want to post. http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002007&id=247 Here are the factory instructions. Also from the venturers. http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002007&id=357 http://www.venturers.org/index.php You may want to mount the lights with this spacer. Less trouble down the road splitting the fairing. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1656

  9. Glad your ok! Last summer I came around a curve(at night) in the fog riding 2 up and there was a horse standing across my lane. Luckily no one was coming the other way and I swerved around it.-Jack
  10. Me too! Please include my daughter Jessica in your prayers. Her water broke this morning and she is in labor as I type this at work. Thanks!-Jack
  11. I got tired of paying $3/lb for dog food at the Vet. I found this site. http://www.waggintails.com/store/index.php?disp=5 Even with shipping cost it's cheaper and they carry high quality food.-Jack
  12. Prayers sent for a speedy recovery!-Jack
  13. The second stock horn is in the lower left fairing. Most people put the stebel in the stock location on the right side and leave the one in the fairing alone. Thats what I did and it fits and looks fine IMO. No problem with wires getting hot after 2 yrs and 30K miles. Carbon One sells a bracket that allows the stebel to mount in the stock location or you can make one of your own. Also use a relay when you wire it up and it works better.
  14. TVA has some projects going on. They are building a nuke plant at Watts Bar. http://www.tva.gov/employment/index.htm

  19. Glad to hear Tom's not badly hurt!
  20. There's a 30 amp fuse at the starter relay. You may have arced a wire when you installed the pigtail and blown a fuse. Thats why it's always a good idea to disconnect the battery cables when wiring anything.
  21. I like my HJC. Reasonably priced too. http://www.hjchelmets.com/
  22. Get a manual from Clymer.
  23. Great looking bike!
  24. Are you keeping your hand off the throttle? Pull the enrichener knob out, turn the key on, put transmission in neutral hold clutch lever in, press start button keeping your hand off the throttle. That is the cold starting procedure. Same for warm starting except do not pull enrichener knob out and open throttle slightly.-Jack
  25. Ghost Rider is a good book. I do wish he'd keep quiet about Suches though.
