  1. I had a set of the stock Road Kings on my bike up until I had the accident last year. Didn't relize it till later but they had the catalytic convert in the left one. But they sounded good and not overly loud either. Never noticed any performance issuses either but I did up the main and pilot jets one size prior to doing the R-K conversion. Since I'm now converting the bike to a three wheeler and the R.K.'s were trashed I put the stockers back on. With 1 exception. I shortened them 6" by taking a section out of the middle and rewelding the ends back on. It changed the sound of those quite stockers to more of the Harley sound. I was supprised just how much the sound changed here. Won't help you guys with the two wheels thou. Larry
  2. She's not far from us, maybe a 20-30 minute drive. Yea we're closing in fast on setting records this year with snow acclumination for the winter season. We did get a break here and didn't get as much as predicted. Temps should be low 40's by mid-week so hopefully this'll all be history soon. Larry
  3. Ah another brother of the third wheel. I almost went with a side car rig myself but decided to trike the bike instead. Haven't finished the conversion just yet but it's getting close to being done. I'll post up some pics once it's finished. Larry
  4. OK guys I looked and my ad is still there thou it's on page #2. Here's a link - http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/69/cat/7 Thanks for the heads up ken Larry
  5. Yea that storm system is streaking up thru the Ohio valley now, across Lake Erie and on into Ontario. We'll be catching the western edge of it here in S.E.Michigan. Maybe 2-4" in my area. Up near Squidley he'll be getting as much as 6-8". I'm sure hell like that. Haha NOT. Yea I've had more than enough of winter here too. Been a long snow season this year. So much for global warming hey? Larry
  6. Here's a couple pics of my version of the Wally world lights I mounted. Not sure if it was mentioned without looking back thru the posts here but there have been reports on other fourms of the ring retainers coming off and getting lost. The cure for that is to drill a hole in one of the dimples and put in a sheetmetal screw. Stainless # 6 in size if you can find them at your local hardware store. I did that and put the screw on the bottom where it's less noticable. Larry
  7. Ok Rick got ya there. I did do as you said but rather than getting another piece of pcv piping I just cut some thick walled steel tubing I had here on hand. Then added them to the spacer I got with the kit. Apparently someone forgot to add enough of the sparcer material in my order. Boy talk about a pain getting those caps on and started.!!!!!!! At the least Yamaha could of done was center that protuding nipple for the air valve so you could get even pressure on the cap while staring it in the threads. Can't see where what I did will make any difference opposed to getting a new pcv piping of the proper length so will leave well enough alone for now. Don't want to take the fairing away/apart again. Too much hassle. Larry
  8. Rick I just changed out my stock springs for a set of the Sonic I didn't take any measurements of the sag with the stock set up but did after remembering this post. My findings with the Sonic springs are as follows. My measurements are from the bottom of the fork tube to bottom of the upper cover. Front wheel off the ground, forks fully extended = 15 1/2" Biked lowered with full weight on the forks but not depressed in anyway = 14 3/4". Results indicate that the amount of drop is then 3/4" . Note here that Sonic gives a thick walled plastic tube for a spacer to be cut to length. Now I don't know if they gave me the right length of tube or not but when I cut their tube in half the spacers come about 1" below the top of the forks. When the caps are installed there was only slight pressure on the springs. Lowering the bike to the ground resulted in static sag to be 2". Not acceptable there at all. Adding 1" to the spacers then brought them even to the top of the fork tubes. This game me the results above. Haven't ridden the bike yet as we're still in winter mode here. Oh one other thing I just checked. The 14 3/4" measurement is with 5 lbs of air in both forks. Removing the air resulted in the bike lowering an addition 1/4" to 14 1/2" Hope this of some help for you. Larry
  9. It sits on top of either resvoir. Longer screws come with it. I have one of the older versions with toggle levers rather than the rocker type in your picture attachment. I use all thre of them as well. One is for the spot lights, another is for low beam and the 3rd is the lights on my tach and voltmeter. The low beam switch I normaly turn off after shutting the bike down. Then when restarted flip it back on. I do this to help the battery enjoy a longer life. Anyhow those units are very nice. You can get right or left side models too depending on which way you want the switches facing and which side you want it on. Mine is on left side with switches facing forward. Larry
  10. Saw this on another bike fourm I frequent and thought our members here would enjoy it. Larry http://www.gorideontario.com/motorcycle/moto-home.html
  11. I have used the wing nut soluation before but after losing a couple I switched to a coupling style nut. They being longer are easier to get a wrench on and can be tightened down enough that there's no worries of them coming loose. Using them you don't need a socket, a wrench is fine. tried the no nut method too and like others didn't care for that moving feeling. Larry
  12. Sounds like you're on the right path there. I was thinking along the same lines too as to a yoke mounted ring gear and starter of some sorts. Your idea of using the starter button is neat too. Keep me in the loop once you've finshed & tested it. Larry
  13. Rooster has mail per your request Larry
  14. Just saw the post and would go except already committed to a gun show. My club is sponsering it and I'm hoping to unload a few items so have a table set up. Maybe next time Larry
  15. I don't know but will find out as soon as our weather makes riding permissable. Maybe JerryM will chime in here or one of the other trike owners. I do intend to do some researching this summer for some sort of reverse set up. What I'll find remains debatable but I'm sure there has to be something that can be done to put a reverse on these nachines. Larry
  16. I just changed out my handlebars for Flanders so had to reinstall my Kurykyn grips. Here's a couple of suggestions I haven't seen others mention. 1. mount up your right side throttle grip first. Once you get that on and the cables adjusted then your ready to do the left side. 2. On the left side position your grip the same as the right side is. It'll not only look better but feel the same. Also there'll be a small gap on the right side. Even thou the left grip could go up tight to the switch housing I prefered it to have the same space between the switch housing and grip. I used a super glue for my left grip much like Kurykyn uses. Larry
  17. WalMart sells a small light for about $15. They have either 50 or 55 watt bulbs so should light up the road well as well as being seen. I think they're made by Optinics. JC W sells them to for a bit more $$$$. Larry
  18. TX, you're on the right track of bracing the ends of the windshield bar. like many others mine are broken too. Well at least one side for now is. My soulation was to use a couple of washers with a rod welded between them. One end goes under the screw at the bars end and the other went to a speaker grill screw. I put up a post a while back on this repair. Not sure if it was before or after the sites crash. Below are a couple pics showing what I did. Larry
  19. My thoughts and prayers will be for the family. Larry
  20. My Alaska Leather sheep skin pads we have are great as others here have said. Don't use them all the time but sure make a difference on all day rides. I like the Alaska Leather ones as they custom fit to our seats plus use quick connect buckles with elastic for securing them. Easy to put on / take off and they stay put. Larry
  21. Eck you have a pm Larry
  22. I have a used set I won't be using PVSoonerFan. Pm or e-mail me for discussing a deal on them as well as their condition. Larry
  23. Ok Bartley pm or e-mail me your address and you get the shifter. Condor has someone else giving him one you so get this one after all. Larry
  24. Sorry Bartley I didn't see your request long ago or you would of gotten this one back then. Hope someone else has one for you soon. Larry
  25. The steel on these shifters isn't that hard and can be bent some so if you only need to tweak it a bit to clear I think you'll be oK. You'll know soon enough for sure once you get that shifter sometime mid-week Condor. Larry
