Good luck to you all on getting this resolved soon. Only reason it's dragged out this long is cause the guys's guilty as hell and using evasive tactics to stay out of jail longer. Larry

Ok now we know you're selling the 99 but what will be taking it's place in the garage? Inquiring minds just wanting to know. Larry

Rally Raffle Tickets- get your winner now !!
Carbon_One replied to Cinderella's topic in Watering Hole
Well with only 5 weeks away from the rally it's time to bump up the raffle ticket sales like Cindy says. That being said I ordered more. Gotta increase my odds of winning. Larry -
My 05 used to pop occasionaly on deceleration. This was before I added the RK mufflers and with them in place it did it a bit more often. Knowing that the carbs were running lean I bumped up the pilots one size per the cylinders. I also increased the mains one size but found out later that it was running too rich so changed them back to stock. Floats were reset during this operation as well. Anyhow with the pilots taken up in size 1 number I now have excelent low end acceleration and no poping since doing this. All of the spark plugs are perfect in color too. My AIS is still on and since it isn't causing any problems I'll leave it be. My Larry

Sorry to hear you and Sarah can't make it Don. We were looking forward to seeing you again as well as the kids. Life stuff does have a way of interfering with the best laid plans. Hope whatever you have to attend to, you'll have successful results. Larry

How about at The Hub in Arkansas during the International Rally? I'll be there. Larry

I saw one of those scooter trikes at a nearby town from me. While they may be OK for in-town use at slow speeds I don't think I'd chance riding one on any kind of road. Besides the fact that the rear wheels are very close to each other the whole thing looked top heavy as well. I could imagine one of these tipping over pretty easily mainly due to the narrow rear end. 12 v tire inflator use
Carbon_One replied to double v's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Your best bet is to add a 12 volt power outlet wired direct to the battery. Of course add a fuse holder and properly sized wiring. There's a prepunched hole with a plug by the rear fender on the left side. A very convienate location with it being next to the + terminal of the battery. Larry BTW: I have one of the Slime compact tire infators and it works great. Just plug into the above power outlet and go. My outlet has a rubber cover to keep water out as well. -
The taking of Yammer Dans bike ... Metric Thunder in WV
Carbon_One replied to a topic in Watering Hole
True there but not near as ridable, But clean forgot about his 750.. Looks like the Warden still going to need to keep an eye on him. Larry -

Hey Lyle & Pam it was our pleasure as much as yours meeting you folks. Glad to hear you made it home safely too. Had a couple deer spotted on I-79 as well after leaving Skids Saturday night. Thankfully they kept to their browsing and stayed off the highway. Hope to see you guys again someday as well. Larry

The taking of Yammer Dans bike ... Metric Thunder in WV

Great write up hdhtr. Now I know why no one was wanting to work on it. Dan kept telling me someone was supposed to do some tune up work but as the day got longer and longer it still sat quitely waiting it's turn. Sorry to say I never did hear it running before we headed back to the hotel. Probably a good thing for me as I already have enough of a hearing loss. Maybe just as well since it's squirel killer too. You know Dan them guys getting that bike to Skids may be the Wardens doing you think? Doing what she needs to do to keep you grounded till that leg is healed you know. No where near as temping to wrench or heaven forbid ride it till you're healed good and proper. Larry -
I'm in for at least 2 or 3 or 4 just as soon as I decide where they're going. They'll look good for sure just about anywhere. Larry
-
I should have that since I triked the bike. Won't know till next week when I get back home. Larry

Annie it's good to see your project finaly getting done so you ride again. Taker er easy till become aquainted with it's handling and then we want pics of ya on it. Ride safe, Larry

Out of curiosity, how many sidecarists are there on VR.org? (quote) Rooster1 and SteveW come to mind. There's probably a few more but certainly not many. Larry

I have a landscaper type trailer as well for those few times I need to haul the bike or whatever. Mine is 5x10 and fits a Venture perfectly. It also has a 2x10 boards treated decking floor. Side rails come up 12-18" or whatever. I added plywood to the front to help keep derbis from hitting the bike too. Prior to this trailer I had a similar 6x12 trailer and that one would carry 2 bikes easyly. But just found it to be more trailer then needed so sold it and replaced it with the above one. Larry

Welded mufflers ugh!
Carbon_One replied to YAMADOG's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Wouldn't it be possible to cut the mufflers off and then put on your choice of after market ones? Of course doing that you may not be able to put the stock ones back on as easly. You'd need to add a coupler then or weld a coupler to one end of either the muffler itself or the pipe. Just thinking out loud here as I'm sure you should be able to come up with something other then buying a complete exhaust system. Save some $$$$$ Larry -
Yep she has and does. As well as the rest of the planning commitee. A huge THANK YOU to all for their efforts in making this event possible. Larry

Don't forget that these motors like to rev. If the rpm's are too low the bike will shudder as well. Larry

Looks like an interesting trip to take. For those who have done this are gas stations nurmerous enough that you don't need to worry about getting fuel, Especially between towns on the Canadian side? Cheetarabbit when are you planning on going? I might be doing this around the end of June or early July. Thanks for the info from the rest of you folks reporting here too. Larry
