Watch ebay...they come up every now and then. The owners manual for 86 and up are pretty close to the same for each year.

There are stands on ebay....ebay ..then type in motorcycle camper and there will be at least one listing for the stands. Regarding the cooler itself. It really doesnt have to be a positive locking one. Just make sure the hinges are facing the front of the bike so it cant open in the wind. All I have are the pressure close ones with bungy cords ...works fine.

Nice pics! Me...I would still be waiting for that "river" to dry up before crossing it! Then again I am terribly gun shy with mud and gravel.

Air suspension pressure
sarges46 replied to magnum-pei's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That would be for each. That also would be the max for the front! For me that is way to much....personal thing the pressures but I run around 2-3 lbs. Back is correct and also a personal preference. Dont use compressed air to pump up...get a hand held like the progressive pumps. -
Ya gotta love the patrol for pulling them over to try and protect them from the elements. I am serious....that is a great thing for boy/gals in blue to do! I am impressed.

HELP! Carb Sync & Idle Speed
sarges46 replied to PaleRider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Im afraid I am now out of my element....sorry. Hang in there someone with more knowledge will help you out. Did it do this before adding the tach? I dont know if that would have anything to do with it...but ya never know. And the filters sure wont do that from what I've read. Like you said something isnt right. -
HELP! Carb Sync & Idle Speed
sarges46 replied to PaleRider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Ist...have you got the restricters on the tubes for the carb tune? If not the bars will go all over the place. Are you trying to lower the rpms with the carb tune hooked up? Maybe try without hooking up...dont know if thats the answer but... -

Need a little help with my other Yamaha: VStar650
sarges46 replied to Jethroish's topic in Watering Hole
Maybe try this from the tech library on the 2nd gen. It might help with alignment and all. The rear end sure looks similar to Marilyns 1100 vstar. Read the whole article. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1705 -

emergency stop switch
sarges46 replied to pegscraper's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Would that be the tip over switch? It worked when I dumped hard last year -
You see it on the morgan site I believe.

I wasnt worried about the consumption nor getting "supplies". There is always a way to get around dry areas. It just means a little planning...like maybe a scheduled stop after a day ride to accomadate those that may need to replenish depleted stock. Thanks for clearing up any misconception though. You guys are doing a good job...now you have to think of that scheduled stop...lol.

No you didnt miss anything. The rubber bumper are not big enough once the risers are on. They are used to help stop the fairing from rattling around. Someone made their own bumpers to fix this. Yes. The bar will now touch the plastic on front. It shouldnt cause any trouble as it only does that at full turn right. Just be careful.

Ye it does look very neat. Can I ask a dumb question.....where are ya gonna put the fuel cell?

On average the ralley brings around 100 folk. This one I suspect will be the biggest so far judging by the early responses and excitement it has drawn. You must come out to it. It lasts 4-5 days with some popping in for a day or two and some staying longer. We've been to three of the four and its been a great experiance each time. The only reason we missed the one was because of its timing which was no fault of the organizers, just the way it went. Dry county eh....I dont get it but we will "stock" up with some beer and fruity little drinks just before we cross that line.

And a beauty she is! Very nice.

No one will say bridgestone...all else is fair game! Dunlops are good, avon is good, michelin commander is good, metzler are dangerous as there have been a number of tires with chunks coming off them as the reports go.
