Anyone have one? What do you like about it? What don't you like? Issues? Did you switch from a 550 to 665? If so do you like the 550 or 665 better and why? Is the only difference between 660 and 665 is XM?

I'm supposed to get my 07 Tour Deluxe tomorrow. I'm meeting the guy half way. It has 1200 miles on it plus over 3 years of warranty on it. I also got a great deal! I have had two 2000 MM Ventures so I have a pretty handle on what to expect. I know the difference between the two but what can I expect in the difference between handling and riding? My wife doesn't ride so I'm looking forward to a sharp looking bike without all the extras. My helmet is blue tooth so I'll still have my tunes via my iphone. Can't wait to get pics - although it is completely stock!

Looking for someone to give me some insight as to why there is a Dynojet Power Commander for Roadliners up to 2008 and then a different one for 09 and 10 model years. I would really like to know if the one listed for models through 08 would work on my 09. I bought one without knowing there was a difference.

From what i read so far I have went to the website to purchase the leveling links but now I think these may be for teh 02 and up ventures. I have tried turning the locknut and collar on the mono shock under the bike and I m trying to find the sweet riding spoty. it seems like the collar only moves a 1/4 of an inch or so forward or backwards.That doesnt seem like it would do much difference in comfort. the bike also seems hard to egt into deep turns. i have scraped a time or two but not consistant. Am i just sitting too low and too heavy. Im close to 400lb solo. -
Is J&M really the best headset? Is there really any difference between the Elite and the Performance models? Hard to believe there is not another brand out there somewhere that compares.

Well I installed my leveling links last night was pretty easy but I have 1 question, I used the new bolts supplies by Diamond R when I had the new bolts tight to 36 ft/lbs with torque wrench there was a small amount of slop, you could push the bolt back and forth maybe 1/16" I did not notice this when I took the other ones off but that doesn't mean it wasn't there is this the way its suppose to be? I have rode the bike to try out the new links WOW what a difference it definetly makes a difference in the handling if you don't have them on your bike yet I would reccomend them. Diamond r - what great service I ordered a backrest, L.E.D. brakelight for under my trunk and the leveling links on Fri and had them on Mon. I talked with Patty on the phone and she was very freindly and helpfull. Then yesterday I received an e-mail telling me that she crediting back 20 bucks because shipping wasn't as much as anticipated how many places do that now days Jeff

Here is a good one. When i start the Venture its sounds great. I drive off and within a very short distance I get this very loud sound that will only stop when I pull over or at the very least almost stop rolling. Then when I take off everything is fine! I can only describe the sound as " a sound a worn out drill would make???" I have tried to activate the starter when the noise was sounding but that did not seem to make any difference!! Any sugjestions? Thanks Ryan On a happier note! I was still driving the bike yesterday and plan to take it as far as I can into the winter months. I do have a goal of driving around each month! Doing so with safety in mind.

Ran some errands on the RSV yesterday. Out of the blue, "the light came on" darn this thing is sure is shifting "clunky". Well it does have 5500 miles on the T6 Rotella. I wondered how long it would run, cause it was not very discolored. Changed (stayed with the T6) it this afternoon, sprayed dry-lube on the linkage and man, all the difference in the world!!! BTW If you use the PL14610 instead of the PL14612 you gonna need a filter wrench like the on the on the bottom (or the kind that look like big jaw pliers). The longer "610" fits fine, but comes too close to a frame rail to use a wrench like the one on the upper left.

I have 36k on my 06 RSV Midnite and started to notice some clutch slippage. Did some research and went with skydocs clutch upgrade kit. I'm very pleased with the result. The difference in lever pull is barely noticable and clutch doesn't slip at all. Thanks

Is there much of a difference between the vacume gauges and the mecury type gauges?

Good write here makes it nice and easy. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258 They were out a bit. I wonder if I'll be able to tell the difference? How does one know the rpm at idle?

Beth and I completed a two week vacation on the bike a couple of weeks back. Still getting things put away and all that....it's boat loading season at work so not much time off to get things done. The total kilometerage....how's that for a word? on the Venture odometer was 8,011 kilometers. The total on the zumo 550 that was on for every foot of the trip was 6,853.6. Now that's a difference of 1,157 kilometers, or 723 miles. WOW! Thought I'd post this up....that's a pretty significant difference between the two. Interesting food for thought. gunk:scratchchin:

I have a 1997 Royal Star Tour Deluxe, I want to drain the old 5w fork oil and put 10w oil My front forks are all chrome (not sure if that makes a difference) Is there a way to drain and Refill the Fork Oil without taking he whole thing apart! Thanks pete ptynning@msn.com

I recently had the opportunity to buy a 1990 Royale, it runs great and now that riding season has started here in CO i've had more chances to get her out and let her run. I do have one question since this is my first experience with the Venture line, mine seems to ride really hard, I've set the air suspension at different levels over the past few days but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so what can I do to correct it. Thanks in advance for your help... Bob 1990 Venture Royale 2003 Roadstar 2007 R1

Just wanted to tell everyone what happened to me. That is usually a bad thing but not in this case. I purchased a new drivers backrest and a light bar from Diamond and they sent it like pronto quick it is great and the light bar it excellent. Then out of the blue I got an email from Diamond and they said that the shipping charge was not as much as they had orginally charged and they where going to credit my card with the difference between the two a little over 18 bucks. Now that is a class operation most businesses would have just let it ride and I would have never known the difference. Thanks again to Diamond R.

So, What was the verdict on your valve shims? How many needed to be adjusted and were they tight or loose? Do you notice a difference in the way it runs, if so, what difference?

I bought my Venture last fall and the front tire was getting worn out. He had replaced the back tire with a stock 404 just before I purchased it. I finally got around to getting a new front tire and wow - what a difference in handling! Almost as good as installing the links.

I have always heard that the color white was cooler than any other color. Has anyone experienced the difference in a white helmet other than black or any other color helmet as far as heat is concerned. I'm just wondering if it is enought difference to notice.

I am going to the store today to buy two new J&M Headsets and lower cords. Does anyone know if there is any REAL difference between the "performance" headset and the "Elite" headset? The price isn't much different, and the descriptions are identical between the two. However, the lower cords are $30 difference between the "P" and "Z" cords. They look identical also. Has anyone here had both, and could tell a difference? Need to know soon, as I'm going to get them in a bit.

Considering this while I'm doing everything else... What is the difference between installing leveling links and smaller front tire? (aside from overall higher/lower seat) Is there a handling difference between the two options or are they both basically the exactly same handling, just one inch or so difference in saddle height? I'm worried about the high speed "squirreliness" that i hear happens with smaller front tire. Do leveling links also do the same thing? -
So, since I'm new and don't know any better, could someone tell me the difference between the 1200 and 1300 carb. diaphragms? Are they different in size or length or maybe they prefer chicken to steak. It looks like there is no difference to me, but this is relatively new to me. I've had this bike for 3 to 4 years and I love it, but I can't bring my self to pay the ridiculous price for some yahoo to fix. I'm pretty handy and had to replace the stator my self three months after I got it...twice. I'm sure you guys (and gals) covered this already and I don't wanna be a bother bringing up old news but the season is about to really get under way here in Wisconsin and I wanna be out there a little earlier this year. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a difference between the 85/86, and 87 trunk? I found a light bar for the 85/86, but was told it would not fit the 87. Anyone know the difference?

Well its been just over a week since I sent out my seats to Mr Butler and they finally arrived today, now if I could just get out of work, cough cough lol. Just cant wait to get them mounted tonight and take her for a spin. Had a question for the guys who have had the mod done, is the difference something you feel right away or am I gonna need a long cruise to really feel the difference? I ride about 65 miles one way to work everyday and not that the seat is uncomfortable but would love it to be more comfortable. Please let me know your input and thanks in advance!!
