  1. So...I got an 89 and just bought a set of beadrider seats and am anxious to install them. Except how do I remove the seat so that I can cinch up the stretchy cords on the seats? Sweaty in Iowa Iowa Guy:confused24:
  2. It is getting that time of year when we are going to start using bungee cords and I just wanted to warn everyone to be cautious. When being stretched, they can pack a wallop if they come loose. Also, it just seems natural to pull them toward you when hooking them. These things can very quickly take out an eye or cause other injury. RandyA

  7. I am going to the store today to buy two new J&M Headsets and lower cords. Does anyone know if there is any REAL difference between the "performance" headset and the "Elite" headset? The price isn't much different, and the descriptions are identical between the two. However, the lower cords are $30 difference between the "P" and "Z" cords. They look identical also. Has anyone here had both, and could tell a difference? Need to know soon, as I'm going to get them in a bit.
  8. We visited with Alice Gorom this weekend and she gave me some things to sell for her that James had bought and never used. EDIT: Headsets and Cords gone! Electrical Connection 1 Heated Grip Kit for GL1800, new, asking $45 PM me for additional info, more to follow...
  9. I want to remind everyone of the dangers of using bungee cords. My supervisor at work had a bungee cord come loose as he was trying to secure something and it popped him in the center of his left eye. At this point he will have to have a new lense put in to get any use out of that eye. I have also almost have this happen and it could have gotten me, but I was lucky. Year before last, Laura were coming to the campground at Vogal and she wanted some firewood to have a campfire(it did not matter that it was 80º outsire). We stopped at a little store and I bought a bundle of firewood and realized I had not pasked my good bungee cords. I went back into the store and bought some of theirs and as I was stapping the bundle of firewood on the trunk grill, one uncurled on the hook and came loose, just barely missing my face. So, I know how quickly this can happen. If you are going to use bungee cords, and they can be real handy, just make sure that if it did come loose when you are pulling on it that you are not in the line of fire. These things can pack a lot of punch. RandyA
  10. Here it is, the Federal SS657 165/80R15, with WWs courtesy of dbtire. Yes, it feels a little different, but no different than any other time I've put on a new rear tire. My old tire was worn down to the cords. A brand new tire will always feel different. Here I haven't put my saddlebags back on yet. I like the looks of this, and I like the feel of it too. No handling issues whatsoever. I can still live up to my namesake just fine.
  11. I know some of you guys have done this already so I'm hoping you can give me some help here. I am going to break down and get head sets for the scoot. 84 blonde royale. So it has the intercom built in but I have nothing to plug into. I'm also looking to get a CB as soon as I can find a good one. The J & M headsets look good. Question is what do I need to get besides the headsets. I know I need some more cords and where to they plug in? Wayne
