  1. I have 36k on my 06 RSV Midnite and started to notice some clutch slippage. Did some research and went with skydocs clutch upgrade kit. I'm very pleased with the result. The difference in lever pull is barely noticable and clutch doesn't slip at all. Thanks
  2. I've been pretty pleased with them. I took Ed's advice and put heat shrink over the mic to reduce wind noise, It seems to help. I need to experiment with location of the speakers for better sound. So far thumbs up:thumbsup2:
  3. I went the route Lilbeaver went. I took two 4x4 peice's of wood about 6" long and painted them black. Went to Lowes and got the biggest zip ties they had. With the wood sitting on the rubber floorboards and the huge zip ties cinched down tight, They're not going anywhere. I did a five day 1600mi trip with my 9 year old son BEFORE I relized his feet didn't touch the floorboards. He didn't complain once but the next time I planned a trip he didn't act like he was interested. That's when he told me the inside of his thighs were hurting last ride. I couldn't believe he rode that far with his feet not touching the floorboards. Now that I've fixed it I think he's ready to go again.
  4. If the guy's got a V-Rod why is he wanting to run a bagger of any make? Tell him to find a V-Max to run, 1st or 2nd gen. I don't think he'll want to run one again. If he has a Ultra, Electra, Etc I don't think you have any worries unless he's put a whole lot of money in it.
  5. You can pick up a nice bicycle shock pump for about $30 at a bike shop. It has a gauge and air release valve.
  6. In the owners manual on my RSV it says fuel capacity is 5.94 US Gallons
  7. The V-Max motor is 1670 cc's I believe. It's tuned for high horsepower and high rpms. The same motor can be bored to 1800 cc's or more I'm sure and be tuned for torque. If you think about it Yamaha put a bored out tuned for torque V-Max motor in the Venture we have now. I'm sure the new v4 could out power the Goldwing which is 1832 cc's Just sayin'
  8. I agree, Yamaha invested way to much money designing the V-4 in the V-Max for it to be used in a very limited bike. I'm thinking a 1800CC version for a new Venture.
  9. I know Rain-X is not good for plastic. Is there anything safe for our windshields to bead water off when riding in the rain. I've tried waxing with poor results. thanks
  10. I don't care who you are, That's funny right there!
  11. Thanks guys, Just ordered the Edsets:680:
  12. Just got an 06 RSV Midnite and couldn't be happier! My son and I are going to be doing some trips this spring and summer. Ready to buy some headsets. I know the Yamaha headsets are made by J&M and I can get a 15% discount on those. How do they compare to the Edsets? I've read a lot of post and not sure which to purchase. Any advice would be appreciated as far as sound quality and wind noise, Reliability etc. What a great site, I look foward to joining. Thanks Scott
