  1. I don't know much about the Dimensions of a 2nd Gen Wheel, but i know the Splines to the final Drive and the Axle Diameter are the same. The rear Rotor on a Vmax is 282mm outer Diameter with 132 mm inner Diameter and a 6 Bolts Mounting Pattern with M8x25mm Bolts . Other than this, for what i have seen on a Lot of Pictures here, the 2nd Gen Rim looks very similar to a Vmax-Rim in the Hub Area.
  2. #1 Cylinder is always opposite to the Output Section of the Crankshaft. After that, the Position of the Connection Rods on the Crank determine the next Cylinders.
  3. Jeremy, you need to make up an extra Wire between the Brushes Ground Plate and the actual Starter Casing. Yammi has Tabs on that Plate which doesn't make good Contact when the Motor is hot. http://members.chello.nl/c.cornwall/Home.html The Cables aren't a bad Idea either, but this Wire inside the Starter Motor will get you over the Hump.
  4. Just above the Carb Boots is Phillips Head Screw on each Carb. These are the Drain Valve Screws. Open this up and the Gas will come out of the black Hose just beside.
  5. The Needle Bearing is a better Idea for heavier Load. You won't get that outer Bearing out without damaging it. But since the Needles did fall out, you need to replace it anyway. The one you got is Junk. Definately. There's no aftermarket Part for this. This is a Yammi Part. I'm sorry to say this, but at least you can replace the Ball Bearing on the other Side with an Aftermarket Bearing.
  6. I'd be interested in hearing that also
  7. Ohoh, i hear it coming, just like the "FL Biker Law Thread" ... :rotfl::rotfl:
  8. Take a long Needle Nose Pliers and grab the Hose with the Tips from the left Side of the Bike. Move the bottom Part of the Airbox slowly over the Carbs and attach the Hose first. Then mount the Airbox to the Carb-Throats, then the Filter then the Top Cover over the Airbox. I've tried it several other Ways, neither worked out for me.
  9. You did check the Vacuum Hose for Leaks during that Process ?
  10. I've worked with a 4-Gauge System and Carbtune. I found the Carb Tune not that accurat and very much like my 4-Gauge System. Just check the indivudual Gauges or Columns by hooking them all toghter on a single Port at Idle and adjust the Channels to show the same Value. Then rise the RpM and check again.
  11. Changing the Leads of 30 and 87 will have no Effect on the Function or the Wear of the Contacs. For a Saturation, there has to be a Current flowing which is not the Case under normal Circumstances. Only Thing which can happen is either your Theory of the Coil in a standard Horn is damaged and drawing Current through this Damage or at a Lot minor Rate the Diode inside the Battery(for preventing reverse Induction, don't know the english Term) is damaged and is drawing Current but not enough to make the Relay operate the Contact. You're right about the stock Wireing is the negative(ground) switched. This also applies to the Brakelight Switches and a Lot of other Items. That's just to have not that much "hot" switched Wires in the Harness. That's brack from the Times where Insulation over the Wires was a Problem.

  13. Doesn't make sense. Charge it fully, let the Winter come and recharge just before you give the Bike the first Start after the Winter. The Odessy has not that much of inner Resistance, so the Drain over the Winter will be not that much anyway.

  15. Valve Cover Gasket would be my Suspicion. There no Way that Oil, coming out from the Stator/Casing Connection, would rise up to the Mount and start to see the Day Light there. The Boring in the Casing where the Starter engages to, is the the very least Corner where Oil will travel while riding. I think, even the O-Ring to seal this up is unnecessary.
  16. and don't forget to insert the Spacer Collar before installing the second Bearing. Don push them too deep into their Seats. The Spacer should have contact with both inner Races that's all it takes. If you press the outer Race deeper than that the Balls will be damaged and the Bearings will lock up.

  18. The VMX Carbs will fit bolt on on a 1Gen, but the jetting, espacially the Main Fuel Jets won't fit to the Motor
  19. Probably sounds like Time for another Engine, but not for a new Bike ??
  20. 21. 1st Gen = 34 mm early 2Gen = 28mm later 2Gen = 32mm I don't remember which Year on the 2Gen the changed to 32mm, i think(!) it could been 2000, but i'm not sure.

This Bike has a very special History. There's a Comic Writer with the Name Broesel. He made up good Books, similiar to Joe Bar Team Comics, if someone knows them. I really got good Laughs out of his "Werner"-Books. In one Book, he customized a old Horex Bike and named it "Red Porsche Killer" to go for a Race against his Buddy with a red Porsche. This Race was made real Years later here at the Hockenheim Race Circuit. Broesel lost because one the two Motors failed. After the Race he said to the Guy with Porsche he would beat him with a chainsaw Motored Bike. Then they made up this Bike, the Dolmette, and raced again on the Lausitzring. He lost again, because only 16 out of these 24 Motors were running when the Lights went to green.

  25. Hey Froggie, stay calm. The Markets will go up after the Election in November. Of Course, it would be fine if one would have the best Cards available in Hands then. To me, it seems that some Shares of the big Oil Companies would be a good Choice ?? Also, i expect the green Buck coming out out of the Low Exchange Rates in 2 Years. But you're right, there are People and Companies which are making Money out of every Move the Market does. We, the last ones in the Row are only earning the Crumbs.
