He was only 59, but not looking after himself properly combined with health issues has cut his life short. His familly has asked me to pass thier thanks along with my own to all of those who were kind enough to pray for him. He was an avid outdoorsman hunter and fisherman and I for one will miss the many outdoor times we had together. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47822

Replacing clutch fluid with a MityVac
saddlebum replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I drain the system, then use a windsheild washer pump and back fill it by pumping fluid in through the bleeder screw until the master cylinder is full. Its a snap and its clean. I have on maney occasions used a mighty vac as well. Any air that may slip in past the threads of the bleeder screw just gets sucked right back out again so trying to seal the bleeder screw threads is just a waste of time. The worst this air does is make you wonder if you got all the air out when in fact you did. -
I wear my helmit. watever else I wear depends on the weather. As a rule I like to be able to just hop on and go. Gloves I rarely wear even in cold weather just can't stand them.

I switched to a sling shot. It fits nicely in the back pocket and draws very little attention.:rotfl:

Best way to break in an engine is to vary the speed. loading it up a little as you accelerate. Loading it up forces the rings out so they hone in nicely. Too light on the throttle. holding a steady cruising speed or babying it lets the rings just glide over the surface and they won't seat properly.

A toggle switch is fine as long as the amp rating is high enough to carry the load otherwise add in a relay to the circuit.

Charlie !! why don't you just admit you put the right one on the left side and the left one on the right side, instead of trying to come up with some lame excuse because you can't tell your left from your right. Its ok you know your not alone. Now here is a trick that will help you. Lay both hands flat on the table in front of you with your thumbs open. you will notice the left thumb points at the right hand . Now isn't that easy.

I put it right in my GPS. Funny thing though the route from Burlington takes the long way around and goes through Brantford. Then a little window pop's up and comments something about wait for tag-a-longs.:rotfl:

I found this in our gm service bulletin. { Even the smallest amount of air allowed into a nitrogen filled tire nullifies any perceived advantage of putting Nitrogen in the tire} it goes on to further say that, GM does not endorse nor discourage the use of Nitrogen in tires. As far as being better for the enviroment, I would have to say, Campared to what ? The air we put in, which is the same air we breath ? For me air is readily available and has worked well. One technical note Nitrogen does expand and contract at a fixed rate, were as air will compress and expand at an unfixed rate, Which is why nitrogen is used in gas shocks.

Once again Prayers needed for a close friend
saddlebum replied to saddlebum's topic in Watering Hole
Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes. I do not understand how it is that he is still holding on, but some how he does. He has not had anything to eat or drink since tuesday, being out of it most of the time. and finally fri noon he was some how able to take a bit of water. He does acknowledge his daughters and myself, but that is about it. The rest of the time he is either asleep or somewhere in the past. On a more positve Note the other friend of mine who was badly injured when he lost control of his motorcycle and ended up in a coma for a couple of months just over a year ago, is up and about. . Just after christmas he was moved from the mental rehab hospital to a group home and is doing very well. he is going to the gym every day with a care worker and working out lifting wieghts etc. He still has some memory loss and a slight personality change, but for the most part doing very well. -
I have a very close long time friend who is only 59 and is currantly lying in hospital and has been there since the ambulance took him in last thursday april 15. He is currantly not expected to live much longer and has refused any form of life support. I have been going to see him everyday and evertime I leave I think it will be the last time I see him alive, yet each time I go back he is still holding on but barely and often is barely consious. Each day his two daughters are there and the anguish they go through each day is hard to take. Please send some prayers for both him and his daughters, I believe they really could use them at this time.

Actually it can work both ways. A defective battery can overtax a charging system. On the other hand an overcharging sytem can boil a battery destroying it, or an undercharging system can result in a battery having to perform in a weakend state, resulting in a shortened life span.

somewhat dissapointed w/ Garmin
saddlebum replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Just a point of curiosity, I have a tom tom and on the bottom is a little pin hole that you stick something small into that resets it back to factory settings. Would there not be something like this on the garmin? -
