Yep, worked for Southbay Circuits and many more, mainly in the San Jose , Santa Clara, Fremont area. LOTS. Was a production Manger on 3 of them. then the last ten years was full on prototype business. even helped set-up/build a couple of prototype shops as well. one of that last shops was in Grass Valley Ca. up in the foothills in Nevada County. for The Grass Valley Group. was there for 13 years.

Don, then we have met in person a long time ago then.. Did you ever go to any shops in Calif? (Circuit Boards)? I did that biz for over 25 years in my younger days. We started out with out liquid waste going into 55 gal drums. that got to be around $800.00 a barrel so then we did our own inside waste management to remove the water out of the sludge. and turn it into Cubes and then filled the drums. got more waste in that way.. we dealt with a lot of tin/copper/ sulfuric acid, nitric acids,,,,yadda, yadda. you know the rest. treated the water and then it could go down the drain. Just wondering. Jeff
-
I think your biggest problem is going to be waste treatment managment. anyways , I plated for years in the day. we could not afford getting rid of the waste after time had pasted. got to costley.. I admire your dreams and I hope they will work out for you, CUZ I want things plated!

dead battery, disconnect, LED speedo is still lit up
Cougar replied to papa smurf's topic in General Tech Talk
Not sure about the speedo problem, but there will be someone here shortly to explain it to you. I would like to know myself why the speedo is doing that as well. As far as the battery , AFTER you get a new one. (if acid) and you live in a place like I do. Make sure every winter you bring it in doors to protect it from freezing, once it as done that a couple times your battery is pretty much toast, that is why I went with Odyssey Battery's (they will not freeze.) , I also have learned over the past 5 years is to make sure you use there charger as well. otherwise it will sulfate , and will never charge properly ,,, just my 2 cents worth. AT least keep the acid battery on a trickle charge ALL winter long so it will not freeze. Jeff -
And a very nice job it is.. can not wait to see the finished project!

I did this almost same thing this winter to my 2nd gen fairing but added glass cloth to the epoxy resin and JB Weld Combo as well. it is very strong now. I re-did all my broken holes and even went over the old holes that have not broke yet.. I think I am good to go now VERY STRONG ! I think with having the XXL Clearview that over time (4 years now) make more pressure on/in that area. that is just my thinking. About 4 or 5 years ago, I asked Freebird what kind of chaps he had and he gave me a brand name and I ordered them. (I forgot what the brand was) Anyways , they have been the BEST pair I have ever owned. You can also take out the lining for warmer weather as well. they are not leather. not sure if he still uses them or not anymore. Jeff

Cougar's Hannigan Headlight Adjustment Mod.
Cougar replied to Cougar's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
Bob, they do not do this mod , maybe have John look at this post when you get there. maybe they will start doing this for future rakes. but for now they do not do this. from what I understand, I could be wrong though. Another person to talk to would be Jim Gooch . (warranty guy) Jeff -
Not sure why Hannigan does not have the Dealers or Hannigan them self's add this when doing the Rake Install . I have found that there is no way to adjust my headlight to to proper angle after the the rake has been added. After the rake kit is installed (my) headlight wants to shoot up into the sky. I finely got around to doing this as one of my winter projects this year. Here is my fix. The Picture below are standing in front of the bike, So I will refer the left and right in that manner. Picture (1) is both left and right NOTE: You will also need longer bolts to do this project. those should be laying around in a bag of nuts and bolts you got back from them removing all your other stuff. Picture (2) is left - with a spacer that is 2.25 thick and a washer of .065 Picture (3) is right - - with a spacer that is 3.00 thick and a washer of .065 I did this mod a while back but never got around to testing it, I did this AM while it was still dark outside with the VRtech Headlight Adjustment write-up. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1064 You will still be able to use the knob to fine tune your adjustments as well. My Findings where it was pretty much dead on, I also did my settings with the light on low beam to start with. then tested it with the high beam on. NOTE:: you will also have to re-adjust your running lights as well if you already have them installed. I think if you get close to my sizes it will still work or get you close. Any Questions feel free to email me. Jeff

Gauges Not Working?????
Cougar replied to StarRider07's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My sunpros seemed to work fine and the oil never got to the end of the line ever. I am now hooking up the Equus but looking at the inside of the sunpro I am not sure you want the oil to reach ALL the way to the other end. I don't think they work like that. to me it looks as if it did that there would be OIL all over the inside of the fairing. thought there were for pressure. So should we all be bleeding these then and how are you bleeding the line, Just cranking the engine over with the switch off? -
Every winter except for this one I always used to go out and start it up turns out in doing so and doing that for 5 months all it does is foul the plugs real bad. she will still start, but run like poop until I install new one's. another think if this bike sat that long and with not a full tank. LOOK inside the tank with a flashlight to see if rust has started. I had to etch my whole tank about 4 years ago. been great ever since. Take a look at my cross section in this thread of my filter after I got my bike, http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=524 keep us posted on how thing went for you. I use sea-foam on a regular basis these days , but no amounts of sea-foam would have help my problem I had. Jeff

No performance improvement- some cases it will be eliminated in my case and most others the annoying noise is moved to a different rpm range, that I try to stay out of. you get the hang of it after a while. it really helps to have a tach on the bike. Jeff

Shot.. I was almost ready to order a second one until I read your post. THANKS! Boy , you are in BIG trouble now. I think I will wait til next year. I just love mine as you will. I have a couple rock dings and it is amazing how well they hold up over the years. USE Novus on it and it will stay good for a long time. (now that is my opinion only) Novus is great.
