    I bought my 99 last year for 7300 (had 9900 miles on it) and quite a few accessories. The only problem I see with them is you get for accustomed to seeing the UPS man bringing more stuff for it. It was one of the best investments I made don't regret it at all . We put 5000 miles on it this last summer and hope to put a lot more on this year.

    Its -28 degrees here right now (the bike will not be leaving the garage any time soon) Just keep thinking warm.

    Was only ripped off once on Ebay on a playstation, made the transaction about 2 weeks before our summer vacation. Nothing arrived before we left so expected it to be there when we returned 3 weeks later, nothing was there. Tried to contact seller through Ebay, telephone # had been disconnected called paypal, we are so sorry your 30 days are up. (really upset at this point) called my visa card company explained what had happened and they told me they would be glad to straighten it out. Credited my account within 24 hours, then Ebay suspended my account (left it that way for 4 years) finally started reusing Ebay 1 year ago have had no further problems since then.

    Don't come here minus 15 (my bikes shaking in its cover) Good time for sitting in front of the fireplace with Baileys and coffee and reflecting on the summer.

    Mine are the original silver but the previous owner painted them flat black which is starting to peel. And the black looks better on my bike (silver and platinum)?

    I have found a set of covers off of a 2002 at a reasonable price. My question is will they fit on my 1999?

    They come as a complete set? Where did you order them from? Do you still have enough room to get under the shifter (yes I know thats what your heel is for but I am slow to change)

    I AM 51 AND MY WIFE IS 47. i HAVE BEEN HOPING TO RETIRE AT 55 BUT NOT SURE AFTER THE CORRECTIONS IN STOCK MARKET:starz: BUT IF I WORK TILL 60 MY EMPLOYER WILL PAY FOR MEDIAL INSURANCE UNTIL 65. OUR PLANS ARE TO BUY A TOY HAULER AND TRAVEL THE COUNTRY (AS OUR 5 KIDS ARE KINDA SPREAD OUT) AND USE THE CAMPER AS A "BASE". :dancefool:HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT:big-grin-emoticon:

    When I replaced my tires I had them balanced and on recommendations from a few friends stayed away from the metzlers and stayed with Dunlops.(my friend had a blowout on one that was 6 months old)

    I have to agree with roadkill time to kick her to the curb and move on. As far as the money goes I am afraid you will never see it and if you do what you do get won't be worth the hassle you have to endure to get it . I f children are involved it really makes this an extremely difficult situation (because you will have to deal with her). But look on the bright side you have a lovely understanding woman now. GOOD LUCK:hurts:

    I have never rode a 1st Gen but I bought a 99 RSV in may and I must say after 4000 miles "I LOVE IT" it is so comfortable on a trip. Performance is not lightning (although it is adequate for me) but I didn't buy it to race stoplight to stoplight, if thats what you are looking for buy a different bike (VMAX).
