  1. Nah, don't worry about it! Being new to you, you won't notice the difference in handling until you get it fixed. Besides, there is a lot of members in the VR assistance list. Just download a copy just in case. Post your route and I'm sure there will be members along the way wiling to meet up with you and ride a ways with you as well! Go for it!! Have an ad-Venture!!!
  2. Randy offered to meet us for dinner too! We should be at the Super 8 by 6PM or so. We will be at the Super 8 at 40 Arsenal Road, York PA which is at I 83 exit 21B/22. We would love to see all of you! Good old Super 8...
  3. I'm still looking for someone to join us on the trip down Friday and return Sunday from around here...
  4. Well, that didn't take long...
  5. There's a lot of helpful and knowledgeable members in Ontario if we knew just a little more specifically where you are...
  6. When I read the title of this thread, I was wondering if Brad was BBQ'ing again...
  7. I have. I use a cassette adaptor to get the audio into the system. I made a small bracket and glued it onto the top of my windshield to mount the antenna which in my case is a magnetic base, and ran the antenna lead along the edge if the windshield and hid it with plastic automotive door moulding. Keep in mind I have a tall shield. Anyway, the reception is about as good as you could expect for satellite radio, constant drop outs in hilly terrain, etc. I'm not a huge fan of XM but the unit was free...
  8. Just filled up both cars at $3.83 which is actually the cheapest it's been for a while around here. Everybody else must have had the same idea as the station was very busy both times...
  9. The amazing thing was it was easier to read WITHOUT my glasses...
  10. Me too!!
  11. As far as the 2nd gear issue, that was fixed on the later '85s. I'm not sure what serial number was the change, but I believe that info is somewhare on the site. Only the early 85s still had that problem. If you have over 50K on the bike and 2nd is not acting up then you're probably OK. These bikes will go well over 100,000 miles and are the most comfortable bikes around. Not that hard to work on them in general either...
  12. You betcha we will be praying for her!!
  13. Glad things are OK! You don't have to be "Religious" to give thanks to God Almighty, and it's a great thing to do! I know how you feel, my wife is a cancer survivor, and I don't know what I would do without her.
  14. I didn't really like the VM's either. Missed a few messages until I finally looked at them...
  15. Be nice to him and he may even make it up for you...
  16. Ditto!! Although it sounds like it may be fun...
  17. Yup!! Buy a cassette adapter from Wally World, Radio Crap, or even your local Drug Store and plug in your MP3 and enjoy commercial free music you want to hear!!
  18. Yup, if you swap out the entire front end you just bolt on the brake lines. You will also have to swap out your master cylander for both the front and rear as the calipers have a larger area and require more hydraulic pressure to effectively work. The biggest thing you can do to improve brake performance is to switch to stainless steel brake lines. Rick at Buckeye Performance can fix you up with brand new lines ready to go for around $400 and it's well worth it!! You have to use the newer calipers and rotors as they are a different size. The anti dive uses the brake light signal to fire the relay for the anti dive.
  19. Buy a leftover '08 and save a bundle...
  20. Sexond Gen's NEED the warranty...
  21. Go where???
  22. Same as it ever was... Same as it ever was... Glad I've got a 1st gen!!
  23. I too met your dad, Big Bob at the Kitchener meet. We are praying for his complete and speedy recovery as well. I haven't posted in this thread until now as I have been at a loss for words. There have been soooo many bad things happening to members as of late...
  24. I've made hotel reservations at a Super 8 near York, and am looking for anyone that would like to ride down Friday from up here. As long as the weathwer cooperates, we will be there...
