Hmmmmm, are we trying to own a Fleet???
-
I forgot to hok up my float charger last fall, and in the spring still had a reasonable charge. Couple of hours or less on a normal charger put it max charge... If you read about the Odessy you will find it was designed for sub zero applications for the military.

Will these parts fit?
bongobobny replied to BJB's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The luggage guard will physically fit on the bike, but won't clear the bags... -
I agree it is a very good deal and you should take it providing you are ready to cross over to the dark side...

Oh, no!! Now they are trying to make a H-D look like a 2nd gen Venture...

What GeorgeS says! Harder to take old one out than install new ones. Common sense tells you how it has to go together. Just pay attention as to how the speedo gear goes, and when reinstalling wheel how the hub of the speedo gear goes. Try Rick at Buckeye Performance and mention Venturerider for a nice discount...

Not too shabby for a 2nd gen wannabe...

1st Edition Antennas again
bongobobny replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'm not positively sure on this one, but by '88 I think all of the antennas were folding type antennas. Have you tried unscrewing the silver section on the bottom? You may find out that your antennas fold down for pulling into the garage...- 10 replies

Yes, and you probably would have made more money that way. It just requires more work to tear down and ship everything separately. Hope you have a new sacoot by the 20th of September so we can meet you for the PA ride...

Our deepest condolances. Although you may rest assured that she is in a better place now, it is never easy to accept the loss. Prayers sent.

Now THAT'S a motorcycle I would like...

The only thing I can think of adding is to make sure the calipers are not hanging up. With the wheel off the ground, just firmly press the appropriate brake and release. The wheel should spin reasonably freely after releasing the brake. It may be initially a little tight until the wheel starts to turn...

Just prayed and will contimnue to do so! Keep us posted on the progress. There have been way too many accidents lately...

Remembe3r, Phil, you have the option of possibly saving a little on shipping by sending to zip code 14009...

OK, this was one of the best 2 week vacations ever!! The first day we did the twistys on US Route 219 thru Pa with trailer in tow. With the exception of a slight power loss going uphill I had to keep looking behind to make sure it was still behind me. We stayed overnight near Johnstown Pa. Day 2 took us thru Pa, Md, W Va and Va heading for the Shenandoah Trail. Had an almost dead battery that day due to the headlight switch being halfway between low and high. Much later, and several times more in that position, found out it was due to hanging my helmet on the handlebars. More twisty turney roads! Day 3 had us thru Shenandoah onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stopped at Luray Cavern for a while in between. At the end of the day we took this ultra twisty road off of the Blue Ridge Parkway that was an absolute challenge! Never got higher than 3rd gear! Finally ended up in a hotel near Lynchburg Va where we drank some Blueberry beer that got us $hitfaced on our a$$es! Ordered pizza and ate it on the curb in front of the lobby. Pizza was delivered to us as we waited! Day 4 hard drive to get to the M&E but we made it after even more twisty roads! I have company coming right now, so later I will continue with the adventures of Zorro (Mother's scoot) and Goldie (mine) with descriptions of "Scotty Tours"...
