  1. I couldn't be there to bust your chops....so this will have to suffice I haven't met her yet....but I already like her for keeping you in check and busting you jewels
  2. JP, Where abouts in Houston are you? There are quite a few of us here in the Houston area. I live Just outside of Cleveland, East of Cut and Shoot off 105. Your more than welcome to come out to my place and we can run through your bike and get it where you want it to be. I have plenty of space and a 1200 sq ft garage. My cell # is in my profile, give a call and we'll see what we can make happen for you.
  3. You'll need to buy a set per side Donnie...
  4. It's your own damn fault Tom, you helped assimilate her into the group
  5. We are very sad that we couldn't make MD, I always love being there, even if I'm dead after the weekend I will make sure that this is the only one I miss........Thanks for all the pics though
  6. Your still riding brother, thats all that counts....enjoy the new ride
  7. Vince, I installed a chain on one of the Michigan crews bike who rode with us. It was a VLX 600, I dont recall what chain mfgr I used, but I went with a sealed o ring chain. It was a little more money, but worth it not to have as much maintenance. The $300 quoted may not be too far out of line as a good quality chain can run you over $100, and it's every bit of a solid hour or better for the install as you have to completely remove the rear wheel assembly. Not that you dont know, but make sure that you true the wheel assembly to the bike when reinstalling it...
  8. :banana:Happy belated birthday Vickie!!
  9. My intentions were good on trying to make it, but moving one of the guys from work turned out to be an all day plus deal. I didn't leave them until about 7:30 last night, and then met Monkey Boy and Lonna for supper in Cleveland. Monkey Boy was kicking himself as he thought it was next weekend Good to see you had a good turnout and hopefully the next get together will not be so hectic for me
  10. How did the drawers feel when they slid out from the box? I know your not going to get great quality with a $300 box, but did they feel solid when they slide?
  11. Rich, One of our Texas members, oldschool, has had Ace High do some leather goods on his '03 RSV. He was extremely happy and the workmanship was great. I saw the tank bib they made and it really looked good, I dont think you'll have any worries with them.
  12. Donnie, Something else I install on every trailer I own is bearing buddies. The beauty of them is before I get ready to head out on a long trip, or atleast once a year I jack each tire off the ground and spin it as I pump grease into the bearing buddy. When I get a little grease out of the weeping hole I know that my bearings are fully packed
  13. BigDawg, There are lots of variables that go into tire wear, personal riding habits, area in which you live, air pressure that you keep the tires at are just a few. It appears that you still have a reasonable amount of tread in the center as it doesn't look slick to me. Another thing too is if you do a lot of slab or strait away riding it will obviously wear the center of the tire faster, this is where the tire pressures come into play. I'll be quite honest with you, if I can get 12K out of a MC tire I am pretty happy. I know you hear of folks getting 18 to 20K out of a rear tire, and not saying that I am doubting the folks that make this claim, but I have NEVER gotten close to that on any MC tire I have owned, but thats just me. Biggest thing is to religiously check your tire pressures, on the rear I keep them within 2 lbs of max sidewall pressure, the front I keep 4 to 5 lbs under max. E3's are decent tires, and many folks here like them. Some get great results others not so much. In my mind your about 3500 miles away from what I expect out of a rear tire. If at 10K the tire is completely shot, then I might get a little cranked up....
  14. Thanks folks, do appreciate all the help
  15. I figured that I would come here and ask you folks a question as we have a lot of different knowledgeable people here. Lonna and I have cell phones through Walmart Family Mobile. They use towers from Tmobile for their service, but Tmobile doesn't let them use all their towers, only certain ones. At the new house here we have terrible reception, so bad to the point that we dont call out unless we absolutely have to. This is a huge pita as I know there are times I just want to grab the phone and chat with folks, some of them even from here :/ The thing that I like about the Walmart plan is, well, there isn't a plan, or a contract such as it is. I absolutely hate having to sign up for anything now these days and have a 2 year minimum requirement So my question to you folks is this, do they make some sort of antenna that will help me get better reception here at the house. AT&T has great reception here, but "Their" plan is another 2 year deal, and will cost me more money. What say you brethren, am I looking for a unicorn?
  16. Donnie, It all depends upon how handy you are and how much aggravation you want to give yourself. It can be done, but you'll have to relocate fenders and that will cause fitting issues with the cargo box. I have had several HF trailers, some home made with car topper boxes and others complete. I have custom built trailers also, Marcarl has my 1st custom built trailer I made out of a diamond plate truck box. The majority of them have had 8" tires and rims, I had 1 with 12" tires. If your worried about running them with 8" rims, dont be. As long as you keep the bearings greased with good quality wheel bearing grease and watch the air pressures, they will run a long time. If you have any questions feel free to PM or call me #'s in my profile.
  17. Rick, Sorry about loosing the call the other day, dont know if you got it, but here's the dealer out of Oregon that I have had great luck with. http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/ I have also done business with Kent Powersports out of San Antonio http://www.kentpowersports.com/
  18. Thanks folks, I appreciate all the info....keep it coming. Pinky, I'll get ahold of you at some point soon and we can chat a bit about Calgary
  19. Just so folks realize, DOT 3 and 4 brake fluid both absorb moisture, and this is how the fluid will boil out. It's always a good cheap insurance policy to change out your brake fluids every year, especially in hot climates...
  20. Dammit!
  21. Hey all my Canadian friends, I have some questions for you folks about Calgary. I work for a company called Tenaris down here in Texas. We have 4 plants and a corporate office in and around Houston. One of our Manager/Supervisors of our weld mill is going to travel up to another one of our facilities in Calgary Alberta. I mentioned to him that I would talk with some of my Canadian friends and get the lowdown about Calgary. If y'all can help me out with good places to eat, or fishing and hunting areas, or just cool places to go and see, I would really appreciate it. I have heard of the Calgary Stampede, I'm not even sure what thats all about other than Rodeo and such. I notice it's July 6th thru the 15th. I'm not sure about what it would take for him to get a Canadian fishing license and if there is any kind of hunting he can do up there during July and August. Give me some ideas here so I can pass it on to him....Thanks
  22. Been using that for years, never any issues....
  23. Very nice job Lewis, love the paint combo You have a lot to be proud of there buddy!
  24. I have run the Shinko Tour Masters and was impressed with the performance aspect of them. They just dont last very long, 7K out of the rear on one of my 1st gens. My favorite tire hands down is the Avon Venom X, decent wear and great performance, the Dunlop E3's are decent also, but took some getting used to...
  25. RIP Warrior....
